• Turn o all controls on the vacuum cleaner before disconnectingor connecting the plug from the mains socket.
• Always keep the power cord away from the brushesduring use. After use always wrap the power cord aroundthe cord hooks provided.
• Always make sure both the pre-motor/post-motor ltersare in place before use.
• Hold the lift out cylinder by the carry handle at all times whenthe lift out cylinder is detached for stair and above oor cleaning.
• Always take extra care when positioning the vacuum cleaneron the stairs.
• Always switch o the vacuum cleaner before disconnectingor connecting the hose and accessories.
• Keep all openings clear and free from debris as this may aect theairow/suction.
• Always replace the fuse in the plug with a British 13amp fuse. Always protectthe power cable from heated surfaces and open ames.
• Use only CE approved 13amp extension cords, non-approved extension cordsmay overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the extension cord as it canbe a trip hazard.
• Store the vacuum cleaner in a cool, dry area. If the lters have been cleanedas per user the guide instructions ensure they are thoroughly dry beforestoring away.

Initial Setup for normal operation
1.Use the base accessories.– Shortest hose.– Extension tube set to shortest practicable length.

PLEASE READ ‘LET’S TALK SAFETY’ AT THE BEGINNING BEFORE USE
Before you begin cleaning
WARNING:Always switch o the vacuum cleaner before connecting or disconnecting the lift out cylinder/ hose/attachmentsor removing and emptying the dirt container.
IMPORTANT: The vacuum cleaner is equipped with a thermal cut-out. If for any reason the vacuum cleaner does overheat
the thermostat will automaticallyturn the vacuum cleaner o. If this happens switch the vacuum cleaner o and unplugfrom electrical socket. Remove and emptythe dirt container also check the vacuum cleaner for blockages. If the vacuumcleaner is blocked, switch o and unplug before removing the blockage. Allow the vacuum cleanerto cool for approximately1 hour (if you have cleaned the lters please wait 24 hours forthe lters to fully dry before putting back into the machine).
For best cleaning results, lters should be tapped over a bin every 4-6 uses to remove dirt and debris and washed every3 to 6 months (depending on the level of use).
Assembling your upright
Place the lift out cylinderonto the back panel and oorhead.
In a hinge like mannerpush the lift out cylinderbackwards until it clicks into place.
Push the handle with extension tube into the back panel of the vacuum cleaner. The handle will click into position when correctly tted.
Place the 3-in-1 toolonto the storage clip.

Using with the lift out cylinder attached
Twist the quick release cord hooks and release the power cord.
Press the brushbar button to activate the brushbarThe brushbar should be ON for carpets and OFF for hard oors.
Plug the vacuum cleanerinto the mains and switch on.
Slide the air vent coveropen to reduce suction, if required on high piled carpets.
Place foot on the oorhead and pull the handle backwards to recline.
For maximum cleaning on hard oors, close the airvent cover.
Press the On/O buttonto switch the vacuumcleaner on.
When the vacuumis reclined with thebrushbar switched on,neverleave the vacuumin one position for anylong period of time.
CAUTION
Using the hose/extension tube with the lift out cylinder attached
Always switch o the vacuum cleaner before connecting or disconnecting the hose/ tools.For easier cleaning detach the lift out cylinder for stair and above oor cleaning. Hold the lift out cylinder bythe carry handle
at all times when detached.The accessories can be attached directlyto the hose or extension tube.
Using the hose with the extension tube
Press the handle releaseclip and lift to remove the handle with extension tube from the back panel.
Press the On/O buttonto switch the vacuum cleaner on.
Attach the hose to the handle, clipping the hose end clip overthe ridge on the handle entry point.
Use the hose with the handle for hard to reach areas.
Choose an accessory
The brushbar will not rotate when the vacuumcleaner is stood in the upright position.
Whilst using the whole unit, don’t forget to use thehandle cord hook so that the cord doesn’t get caughtor tangled in the machine.
Attach the tool to the end of the extension tube.
TIP

Pull and remove the hose from the hose holder.
Choose an accessory.
Attach the tool to the end of the hose.
Press the On/O buttonto switch the vacuum cleaner on.

Hold the carry handle and press the lift out cylinderrelease button.
Lift and remove the lift out cylinder o the back panel and oorhead.
Pull and remove the hose from the hose holder.
Press the handle releaseclip and remove the handle with extension tube from the back panel.
Pull and remove the hose from the hose holder.
If required attach tool to the end of theextension tube.
Choose tool orextension tube.
Press the On/O buttonto switch the vacuumcleaner on.
Attach the tool orextension tube to the other end of the hose.

IMPORTANT: The motor is equipped with a thermal cut-out. If for any reason the machine should overheat, the thermostat

Emptying and cleaning the dirt container
Don’t over ll the dirtcontainer to avoidblocking the air owthrough the vacuumcleaner and replacelters every 6-9 months.
Press the dirt containerrelease buttons located theside of the carry handle.
Pull and remove thedirt container o thevacuum cleaner.
Hold the dirt container overa bin, press the dirt releasebutton to open and allow thedirt to fall out.

Cleaning the pre-motor lter
Cleaning the separator
Lift the dirt container lid release clip. In a hinge like manor lift the dirt container lid.
Pull the pre-motor ltertab and remove the lterfrom the dirt container.
Lift and remove separatorout of dirt container. Using a soft brush remove any dirt/debris from separator.
Re t the separator making sure the semi circular tab on the separator ts into the groove on the dirt container.
Post-motor lter maintenance
IMPORTANT: The post-motor lter is designed to oer long life with no maintenance. The lter should be checked
periodically and when heavily discoloured it should be replaced. Please do not wash, scrub or brush the lter as this willdamage the lter.
Lift the dirt container lidrelease clip. In a hingelike manor lift the dirtcontainer lid.
Pull the pre-motorlter taband remove the lter fromthe dirt container.

Tap the lter over a binto remove any dirt/debris.Wash the lter underrunning water (40degrees max).
24hrs
Leave for 24hrs or until fullydry before replacing.
Twist the post-motorlter cover anti clockwise and remove.
Lift and remove the post-motor lter.
Check the post-motor lterfor any discolouration.
Don’t use yourvacuumcleaner without all of thelters in place.

IMPORTANT: Unplug and switch o vacuum cleaner before performing maintenance ortroubleshooting checks.If the brushbar has been obstructed, the Motor Protection Sensor may have been activated.
Resetting/removing debris from the brushbar
The brushbar indicator lightwill illuminate red and thebrushbar will stop spinning ifthe brushbar is obstructed.
Press the On/O buttonto switch the vacuumcleaner on.
Switch the vacuum cleanero and clearthe obstructionfrom the brushbar. Stand thevacuum cleaner in the uprightpositon to reset the brushbar.
Press the brushbar buttonto activate the brushbar.
Using a pair of scissorsremove anythreads or haircaught around the brushbar.
Place foot on the oorheadand pull the handle backwardsto recline.
Changing the brushbar/advanced brushbar cleaning
Using a crosshead screwdriver, remove 3 screws from the belt coveron the side of the oorhead.
Pull to remove the belt coverand brushbar location plate. Remove belt.
Lift and separate brushbarside cover.
Removing a blockage from the hose
Press the dirt containerrelease buttons located the side of the carry handle.
Pull and remove the dirt container o the vacuum cleaner.
Pull and remove the hose from the hose holder.
Pull brushbarthrough side cover toremove.
Pull and stretch the hose, any blockage in the hose should then be visible.
Changing the belt
Using a crosshead screwdriver, remove 3 screws from the belt coveron the side of the oorhead.
Pull to remove the belt cover.
Pull to remove the brushbarlocation plate. Remove belt.
Clean any debris from spindle. Place new belt onto spindle, lining up teeth on the belt overand onto the cog.
Using a broom handle or similar blunt instrument, push into the stretched out hose to remove blockage.
Removing dirt/debris from TurboTool
Slide the locking ring to remove.
Lift and separate the housing.Using a pair of scissorsremove anythreads or hair caught around the brushbar.
Line up the tabs on front of housing and re-t. Slide locking ring into groove to secure.

• Check the fuse in the plug if this needs replacing, always replace with a 13ampBritish fuse.
• The motorthermostat may have tripped. If this has happened, unplug the vacuumcleaner. Remove and emptythe dirt container and check the hose for blockages.Clean the lters and allow the vacuum cleanerto cool for approximately 1 hour(if you have washed the lters you will need to wait 24 hours forthe lters to fullydry before putting them back into the vacuum cleaner).
• The dirt container may not be tted correctly, remove the dirt container andre-attach making sure it is clicked rmly into place.
• The airvent is open, reducing the suction . Go to ‘Getting started’.
• The dirt container may be blocked, emptythe dirt container and clean the lters.Go to ‘Taking care of your machine’.
• There may be a blockage in the hose. Check and clear any blockages. Go to ‘Let’s talk technical’.
• The brushbar may not be turning. Go to ‘Why isn’t my brushbar rotating?’ below.
• If the accessory/tool will not pick up, check and clear any blockages. Go to ‘Let’stalk technical’.
• The brushbar may not be turned on. Go to ‘Getting started’.
