Basic safety precautions
Don’ts
This steamer is intended for household use only and NOT for commercial or industrial use
• Only use the steamer indoors and keep the area you’re cleaning well lit.
• Keep ngers, hair and loose clothing away from moving parts and openings whilst using the steamer.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Don’t touch any hot areas/accessories on the steamer. It’s normal for the steamer and accessories to heat up during use, always turn o and allow them to cool down before handling or changing.
• Don’t leave the steamer plugged in when unattended.
• Don’t use the steamer if it has been dropped, damaged, immersed in water or left outdoors.
• Don’t run over the power cord or use steamer if the power cord or plug is damaged. Please contact our Customer Care Line on: 0330 026 8455 (Mon-Fri 8.30am to 6.30pm, Sat 9.00am to 5.00pm).
Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance
shall not be made by children without supervision.
• Please refer to oor manufacture’s care recommendations before us, and test your ooring/carpet/rugs by running the steamer over a small hidden area, if no pile distortion or no damage occurs continue cleaning. Not suitable for use on wax polished oors or furniture, acrylic surfaces and synthetic, velvet or steam/water sensitive materials.
• This steamer should not be used to clean electrical appliances such as microwaves, televisions and electrical heating systems etc.
• Only Vax recommended tools should be used with the steamer.
Please keep instructions for further use.
• Don’t handle the plug or use the steamer with wet hands.
• Don’t pull or carry the steamer by the power cord. Don’t use the power cord as a handle, pull the power cord around corners, sharp edges or close a door over the power cord. Don’t unplug steamer by pulling on the power cord.
• Don’t attempt to remove blockages with sharp objects as this may cause damage to the steamer, remove blockages only as instructed in this guide.
• Don’t aim the steamer at people, animals, plants and electrical components such as interior of ovens or wires. Never touch the steam jet or tools from a short distance (there is a risk of scalding).
• Don’t use the steamer with incorrect voltage as this may result in damage or injury to the user. The correct voltage is listed on the ratings label.
Do’s
• Always ll the water tank with water only, never add perfume, stain remover or products containing alcohol.
• Always vacuum your carpets thoroughly and make sure hard oor areas are free from grit and debris before using the steamer.
• Always unplug the steamer before carrying out any maintenance.
• Always replace the fuse in the plug with a British 13amp fuse. Always protect the power cable from heated surfaces or near open ames.
• Use only CE approved 13amp extension cords, non-approved extension cords may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the extension cord as it could be a trip hazard.
• Always carry the steamer by the handle.
• Store the steamer in a cool, dry area. Before storing the steamer please ensure the water tank is thoroughly clean and dry.

PLEASE READ ‘LET’S TALK SAFETY’ AT THE BEGINNING BEFORE USE
Before you begin cleaning
• Please refer to oor manufacturer’s care recommendations before use and test the steamer on an hidden area
of ooring/surface to begin with.
• Test for colour fastness in a small hidden area of upholstery/fabric to check for colour removal before use.
• When using the steamer, basic safety precautions should always be observed.
• Don’t aim the steamer at people, animals, plants and electrical components such as interior of ovens or wires.
Never touch the steam jet or oor head from a short distance (there is a risk of scalding).
• The steamer is equipped with a thermostat and a thermal cut-out. If for any reason the steamer overheats it will
switch o. If this happens turn o and unplug the steamer, allow to cool for a least 2 to 4 hours and re-start.
• Don’t use hot or boiling water to ll clean water tank.
CAUTION: The steamer oorhead gets very hot during use. Always switch o the steamer before emptying the water tank or changing the cleaning pads/accessories. To release the handle, press the release button and push up. When removing the handle please keep your face away from the handle when pulling the handle away from the main body.

Assembling your steamer
Push the main body down into the oor head until it clicks into place.
Stand the steamer upright by pushing the main body forward to lock into position.
Insert the handle at the top of the main body and slide the handle downwards. Press the handle release button inwards and push handle down until it clicks into place.

Filling water tank
Press the water tank release button and pull tank to remove.
IMPORTANT: Never use the steamer without a cleaning pad attached to the oor head. Never leave the steamer in one spot for extended periods of time or with a damp or wet pad attached as this may damage the oor surface.
Pull the tab on water tank cap to open.
Fill tank with 400ml max of water. Replace cap and push rmly to close.
To replace water tank, line up base into ridge of steamer. Push to click into place.
Using your steamer
IMPORTANT: When using on carpets, always make sure the microbre cleaning pad covers the oor head entirely before using the carpet glider. Only use the carpet glider when refreshing carpets.
Refreshing carpets
Place the microbre pad on the oor white side facing up. Place steamer onto pad making sure the entire pad covers the oor head.
With pad attached, place steamer into the carpet glider. The carpet glider should only be used when refreshing carpets.
Plug into mains and press the power button to switch on.
The blue light will illuminate to show power on and steamer is heating.
Place the microbre pad on the oor white side facing up. Place steamer onto pad making sure the entire pad covers the oor head.
Place your foot onto the oor head and pull handle backwards to recline.
Plug into mains and press the power button to switch on.
To produce steam squeeze the trigger in short bursts. Don’t hold the trigger continuously to prevent over wetting oors.
The blue light will illuminate to show power on and steamer is heating.
Move steamer slowly backward/forward across oor paying particular attention to high trac areas. Squeeze trigger as required.
The green light will illuminate to show the steamer is ready to use. The green light will go o when the steamer is re-heating.
Allow the steamer to cool down before removing pad. Hold corner of pad down with your foot and lift steamer to remove pad.

Using the handheld steamer
Push the handle release button and lift the handle to remove from main body, care should be taken as release button is sti.
Choose an accessory and line it up with the concentration nozzle, twist and push to lock into place.
Push the oor head release button and lift the main body from the oor head to remove.
Press the on/o button to switch on.
Push the accessory connector onto the steamer nozzle until it clicks into place.
Line up concentration nozzle with the accessory connector, twist and push to lock into place.
Attaching the accessory hose
Push the accessory connector onto the steamer nozzle until it clicks into place.
Choose an accessory and line it up with the concentration nozzle, twist and push to lock into place.
Line up hose with the accessory connector, twist and push to lock into place.
Press the on/o button to switch on.

Important
• Accessories can only be attached with the concentration nozzle.
• Taps should be turned o when steaming around them.
• Don’t steam clean ovens, oven surfaces or grills when they are
hot, allow them to cool to room temperature rst.
• Test for colour fastness in a small hidden area of upholstery/
fabric to check for colour removal before use.
TIP
After connecting hose, concentration nozzle and tools check they are securely tted and locked in place before
turning on.

CAUTION: Never use the squeegee on cold glass/windows as it may cause damage.

Use to remove soap scum in baths and shower enclosures and to clean stubborn stains in kitchens.
Grout brush
Lifts embedded dirt from in between tiles.
Brushes
Ideal for any surface from tiles, sinks, toilets and oven tops.
Bending nozzle
For hard to reach areas, e.g. around taps.
Squeegee tool
Great for leaving your windows, tiles and mirrors gleaming. Not to be used on cold glass/windows.
Scraper tool
Ideal for removing dried on residue from ovens, work surfaces and pans.
Upholstery/cloth tool
Attach the cloth to the squeegee tool for use on upholstery and cloth.
IMPORTANT: Allow the steamer to fully cool down before performing any maintenance or troubleshooting checks. Don’t leave water in the tank between uses as this can eect the steamer’s performance. The water tank should be emptied and rinsed after each use.
Emptying the water tank
Press the water tank release button and pull tank to remove.
IMPORTANT: Allow the steamer to fully cool down before performing any maintenance or troubleshooting checks.
Pull the tab on water tank cap to open.
Empty any excess water over the sink. Rinse tank out with clean water.
Clearing blockages
IMPORTANT: After connecting hose, concentration nozzle and tools, check they are securely tted and locked in place before turning on.
If there is an obstruction to the steam ow through the machine, steam may be released through the bleed valve.
Press the oor head release button on the neck of the machine to remove the oor head.
Blockages can be cleared using the de-scaling pin, insert the full length of the pin into the nozzle and twist if necessary.
Remove the pin from the nozzle. Holding the steamer vertically, tap the nozzle to release any mineral deposits.
Let’s talk technical
IMPORTANT: Never use bleach or fabric softener when washing the microbre pad. Always allow the steamer to fully cool down before removing the microbre pad.

IMPORTANT: Don’t operate the steamer without the Hard Water lter in place. The condition of the lter aects the performance of your steamer, check and change the lter periodically. If you live in a hard water area the lter will discolour or darken over time. Depending on water hardness and frequency of use, the lter should be changed every 3-6 months (or if the lter has discoloured).
All cleaning pads are machine washable (40°C Max) and allow time to fully dry.
Changing the Hard Water lter
Remove water tank to access the hard water lter.
Pull hard water lter to remove.
New lter (cream coloured).
Hard water lter should be replaced every 3-6 months or if discoloured and darkened.

Why is the steamer not producing steam?
SolutionProblem
• Check the ‘This pack contains’ panel on the box to make sure the part is included with your machine.
• Check the On/O button has been pressed to On. The blue light should illuminate when On.
• The plug may not be fully pushed into the electrical socket.
• Check the fuse in the plug if this needs replacing, always replace with a British 13amp fuse.
• There may be no water in clean water tank, check the clean water tank has water.
• Check the clean water tank is correctly tted. Go to ‘Using your machine’.
• Check the hard water lter is in place, not damaged or blocked and need replacing. Go to ‘Taking care of your machine’.
• Steam path may be blocked. Go to ‘Let’s talk technical’.
• The cleaning pad may already be saturated or dirty. Wash the cleaning pad. Go to ‘Taking care of your machine’.
Why won’t the cleaning pad pick up dirt?
