Putting your cleaner together
Push the handle down on to the top of the unit. Secure the handle with the screw supplied. Place the tools into their storage positions: (A) hose
and (B) upholstery tool.

Operating the vacuum cleaner
IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE THE DUST CANISTER IS IN PLACE BEFORE OPERATING.
Storing/removing the power lead
Turn the quick release clip for easy power lead removal. Plug the lead into a power socket.
Turn the cleaner on, using the on/off switch located on the side of the machine.
Use the flexible head to reach into corners. Gently push the head into the corner and the edges will ‘mould’ to the shape of the corner.

Using the attachments
Pull the hose connector flap down. It is located on the front of the dust container. Gently slide the hose into the hole until it clicks into place.
To use the crevice tool: remove the brush from the end. Re-attach for dusting (store the brush on the back of the handle).
To r emove the hose, pull down on the hose connector flap and pull the end out of the front of the cleaner.

IMPORTANT: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY FROM MOVING PARTS, UNPLUG CLEANER BEFORE SERVICING.
Removing the dust canister
Press the latch on the front of the dust canister and pull out.
Hold the dust canister over a waste bin. Pull the filter up and out of the dust canister. Gently tap the filter firmly against the inside of the waste bin until the dust stops falling from the filter.
Hold the dust canister over a waste bin and shake out any remaining dust and debris.

Gently push the filter back into the dust canister. Align the bottom of the dust canister with the hole
opening. Hold down the button and gently push the dust canister into place. You will feel it lock into place.

General maintenance
Clearing blockages in the cleaning head
To r emove a blockage in the cleaning head: insert the end of a standard (flat head) screwdriver into the slot and pry the cleaning head access window out.
Pull out the obstruction and return the cleaning head access window back into its place.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION
1. Plug unit in firmly.
2. Check fuse or circuit breaker in home. Replace fuse or re-set circuit breaker.

Safety

• Do not put any object into openings or operate with openings blocked, keep them free of anything that may reduce airflow.
• Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
• Turn off all controls before unplugging.
• Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
• Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as petrol, or use in areas where they may be present.
• Look on your vacuum cleaner and follow all labels and marking instructions.
• Do not use an extension cord with this vacuum cleaner.
• Keep end of hose and other openings away from face and body. Keep hands, feet, hair and clothing away from moving parts, especially the revolving brush.
• Store the vacuum cleaner indoors. Put the vacuum cleaner away after use to prevent tripping accidents.
• Do not vacuum any glowing, burning or smoking particles.
• Do not use without the dust canister and filters in place.
• If your VAX fails to operate, never attempt to repair it yourself, as repairs carried out by an unauthorised or inexperienced person may cause injury to you
or damage to your VAX. Never alter the specification or modify your VAX in any way.
