This handheld cleaner is intended for household use only and NOT for commercial or industrial use. It is a battery-operated appliance, the battery being charged outside the appliance.
• Only use the handheld cleaner indoors and keep the area you’re cleaning well lit.
• Keep ngers, hair and loose clothing from moving parts and openings whilst using the handheld cleaner.
• Keep the charger and battery in a dry place and use them indoors only.
• Don’t use this handheld cleaner if it has been dropped, damaged, immersed in water or left outdoors.
• Don’t handle the charger plug or use the handheld cleaner with wet hands.
• Don’t run over the charger cord or use the handheld cleaner if the charger cord or plug is damaged. Please contact our Customer Care Line on: 0330 026 8455 (Mon-Fri 8:30am to 6:30pm, Sat 9:00am to 5:00pm).
• Always make sure the lter and dirt container are tted correctly before using your handheld cleaner.
• Always turn o and unplug the handheld cleaner from the charger before carrying out any maintenance.
• Turn o all controls on the handheld cleaner before disconnecting or connecting the battery.
• Take extra care when cleaning on the stairs.
• Always replace the fuse in the plug with a British 3amp fuse.
• This handheld cleaner can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the handheld cleaner in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children should not play with the handheld cleaner. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be made by children without supervision.
• Only Vax recommended tools and accessories should be used with this handheld cleaner.
• If the charger cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, a service agent or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• Don’t attempt to remove blockages with sharp objects as this may cause damage to your handheld cleaner.
• Don’t use the handheld cleaner with incorrect voltage as this may result in damage or injury to the user. The correct voltage is listed on the ratings label.
• Don’t vacuum up hot coals, cigarette butts, matches or smoking hot burning items or use in an area where there may be harmful uids (chlorine, bleach, and ammonia drain cleaner).
• Don’t try to short the terminals of the battery and the charger.
• Always protect the charger cord from heated surfaces or near open ames.
• Use only CE approved 13amp extension cords, non-approved extension cords may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the extension cord as it can be a trip hazard.
• Always carry the handheld cleaner by the correct carry handle.
• Store your handheld cleaner, charger and battery in a cool, dry area.

PLEASE READ ‘LET’S TALK SAFETY’ BEFORE USE
CAUTION: The battery used in this device may present a risk of re or chemical burn if mistreated. Do not disassemble or heat above manufacturer’s maximum temperature limit (60°C/140°F) or incinerate. Replace battery with a Vax battery only. Use of another battery may present a risk of re or explosion. Dispose of used battery promptly. Keep away from children. Do not disassemble and do not dispose of in re. Do not attempt to disassemble the battery or remove any component projecting from the battery terminals. The battery and charger have no user serviceable parts. Fire or injury may result. Prior to disposal, protect exposed terminals with heavy insulating tape to prevent shorting. The battery must be recycled or disposed of in an environmentally sound manner.
CAUTION: For best performance terminals on battery, battery charger and handheld cleaner must be clean and free from dust and dirt.
NOTE: The life expectancy of the battery will vary depending on the usage of the handheld cleaner. If you require a replacement battery contact us - Vax Careline: (UK) 0330 026 8455.
Charging the battery
Fit the battery onto the battery charger. The battery charger light will turn blue when charging. If a red light appears an error has occurred, remove the battery and re-t. Once the battery is fully charged the charger light will turn o.
Removing the battery from charger
Press the release button on the battery, hold the base of battery charger and lift the battery to remove.

IMPORTANT: The battery will need charging before rst use. Do not attempt to charge non rechargeable batteries.

TIP
The battery can remain on the battery charger once fully charged.
Carrying your handheld vacuum cleaner
Fit the battery onto the handheld cleaner. The battery will click into position when correctly tted.

Assembling your handheld vacuum cleaner
CAUTION: Always make sure the pre-motor lter is correctly tted before using the handheld cleaner.

For a more detailed clean, line up the crevice tool with the nozzle on the handheld and push rmly into place.
Roll the On/O control back to switch the handheld o. Pull to remove tool from nozzle.

CAUTION: Always take extra care when cleaning stairs. Always switch the handheld o before connecting or disconnecting the accessories.
Removing the battery from your handheld cleaner
CAUTION: Always switch o the handheld cleaner and remove the battery before carrying out any maintenance or troubleshooting.
Hold the battery securely and press the release button on the top of the battery.
Lift to remove dirt container lid.
Press the dirt container release button.
Lift separator tabs on either side of dirt container. Lift to remove separator.
Hold dirt container over a bin allowing dirt/debris to fall out.
Emptying the dirt container
TIP
Don’t over ll the dirt container to avoid blocking the air ow through the handheld cleaner and replace lters every 6-9 months.
Pull the lter tab to remove the pre-motor lter from the separator.
Tap separator over a bin allowing dirt/debris to fall out.

Tap the lter over a bin to remove any dirt/debris. Wash the lter under running water (40 degrees max).
Leave for 24hrs or until fully dry before replacing.
Ret the pre-motor lter and separator.
Cleaning the separator and pre-motor lter
CAUTION: For best cleaning results lters require cleaning every 4-6 uses or as needed. Do not use your handheld cleaner without the lter in place.
Using a dry cloth or soft dusting brush remove any dust/debris from terminals on battery charger, battery and handheld cleaner.

This battery charger provides a charge time 6x faster (1.5 hours) with a standard LithiumLifeTM battery*. This battery charger charges the LithiumLifeTM Extended Runtime Battery within 3 hours.

LithiumLifeTM extended runtime doubles the cleaning time to 30mins for whole-home cleaning.
What to do if it goes wrong
• Check the battery is inserted correctly into the handheld vacuum cleaner. Go to ‘Getting started’.
• Check the handheld has been correctly tted into the main body. Go to ‘Getting started’.
• The battery may not be charged, remove and charge battery.
• Check terminals on battery and handheld cleaner are clean. Go to ‘Lets talk technical’.
• Battery might be too hot, remove and allow to cool for 30 minutes. Replace battery.
• The Motor Protection Sensor may have been activated. If this has happened, switch o the handheld cleaner. Remove and empty the dirt container and check for blockages. Clean the lters and allow the handheld cleaner to cool for approximately 1 hour (if you have washed the lters you will need to wait 24 hours for the lters to fully dry before putting them back into the handheld cleaner).
• Empty the dirt container and clean lters. Go to ‘Taking care of your machine’.
• There may be a blockage in the handheld cleaner. Check , the nozzle of handheld, separator, shroud and tool for blockages.
• The separator has not been tted correctly. Go to ‘Taking care of your machine’.
• Check the battery charger is plugged in.
• Check the battery is inserted correctly into the charger.
• Check terminals on battery and handheld cleaner are clean. Go to ‘Lets talk technical’.
• The battery may not be connecting with the charger. Remove battery and unplug charger, wait 10 seconds then retry.
• The battery is fully charged and the charger light has turned o.
• The battery has not been fully charged. Go to ‘Getting started’.
• Check the battery is inserted correctly into the charger.
• The battery or charger has an error. Remove the battery and unplug charger, wait 10 seconds then plug charger into the mains and re-insert the battery.
• Check terminals on battery and handheld cleaner are clean. Go to ‘Lets talk technical’.
