Don’ts
This Wet & Dry vacuum is intended for household use only and NOT for commercial or industrial use.
• Only use the Wet & Dry vacuum indoors and keep the area you are cleaning well lit.
• Keep ngers, hair and loose clothing away from moving parts and openings whilst using the Wet & Dry vacuum.
• The Wet & Dry vacuum should be positioned at on the oor when starting and during use. To prevent dirty water running into the motor do not use the Wet & Dry vacuum upside-down or on its side.
• Don’t use the Wet & Dry vacuum if it has been dropped, damaged or left outdoors.
• Don’t attempt to remove blockages with sharp objects as this may cause damage to your Wet & Dry vacuum.
• Don’t run over the power cord or use the Wet & Dry vacuum if the power cord or plug is damaged. Please contact our Customer Service on: 0330 026 8455.
• Don’t vacuum up any ammable or combustible materials (lighter uid, petrol, kerosene etc.) or use the Wet & Dry vacuum in an area with explosive vapours or liquid.
• Don’t handle the plug or use the Wet & Dry vacuum with wet hands.
Do’s
• Turn o all controls on the Wet & Dry vacuum before disconnecting or connecting the power cord.
• Always make sure the lter and lter bag are in place before use.
• Always check accessories are free from damage, dirt and debris before use.
• Always switch o the Wet & Dry vacuum before disconnecting or connecting the hose and accessories.
• Keep all openings clear and free from debris as this may aect the airow/suction.
• Always replace the fuse in the plug with a British 13amp fuse. Always protect the power cord from heated surfaces or near open ames.
• Take extra care when positioning and using the Wet & Dry vacuum on the stairs.
• This Wet & Dry vacuum can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the Wet & Dry vacuum. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
• Only Vax recommended tools and accessories should be used with this Wet & Dry vacuum.
• Don’t vacuum up hard or sharp objects such as glass, nails, screws or coins etc.
• Don’t vacuum up hot coals, cigarette butts, matches or smoking hot burning items or use in an area where there may be harmful uids (chlorine, bleach, and ammonia drain cleaner).
• Don’t pull or carry the Wet & Dry vacuum by the power cord. Don’t use the power cord as a handle, pull the power cord around corners, sharp edges or close a door over the power cord. Don’t unplug the Wet & Dry vacuum by pulling on the power cord.
• Don’t use the Wet & Dry vacuum with incorrect voltage as this may result in damage or injury to the user. The correct voltage is listed on the ratings label.
• Use only CE approved 13amp extension cords, non-approved extension cords may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the extension cord as it can be a trip hazard.
• Before storing the tank, the lter and lter bag must be thoroughly clean and dry as per the user guide instructions. Store the Wet & Dry vacuum in a cool, dry area.

Getting started
PLEASE READ ‘LET’S TALK SAFETY’ AT THE BEGINNING BEFORE USE
Before you begin
WARNING: Always switch o the Wet & Dry vacuum before connecting or disconnecting the hose/attachments, or emptying the tank.
IMPORTANT: The Wet & Dry vacuum is equipped with a thermal cut-out. If for any reason the Wet & Dry vacuum does overheat, the thermostat will automatically turn the Wet & Dry vacuum o. If this happens, switch the Wet & Dry vacuum o and unplug. Empty the tank and also check the Wet & Dry vacuum for blockages. Allow the Wet & Dry vacuum to cool for approximately 24 hours (if you have cleaned the lter and lter bag please wait 24 hours for the lter and lter bag to fully dry before putting back into the Wet & Dry vacuum). For best cleaning results the lter and lter bag require cleaning after every use and replacement every 6 months. If the Wet & Dry vacuum is blocked, switch o and unplug before removing the blockage.
Assembling your Wet & Dry vacuum
Push the hose rmly into the hose connection and twist to lock into place.
Push the other end of the extension tube onto the desired accessory.
Insert the hose grip on to extension tube.
Additional tools can be stored on the back of the vacuum.
Push together the 2 extension tubes.
Using your machine
IMPORTANT: The Wet & Dry vacuum should be positioned at on the oor when starting and during use to prevent dirty water running into motor. Do not use the Wet & Dry vacuum upside-down or on its side. Always make sure both the lter and lter bag are in place before use.
Using as a Wet & Dry vacuum
Attach the combination tool to the extension tube.
Plug into mains and press the on/o switch to the I
position to switch on.
Raise brushes for use on carpets. Lower brushes for use on hardoor.
Slide vent cover on hose grip open to reduce suction if required.
Using your machine
IMPORTANT: The Wet & Dry vacuum is tted with a oat. When the tank is full, the oat will shut o the suction to the vacuum. You will be able to hear if this has happened as the motor noise will increase. Once the oat is activated, switch o the Wet & Dry vacuum and empty the dirty water. If the tank is not full, then turn o the Wet & Dry vacuum at the power switch and wait for the oat under the lid to settle. Always makes sure the oat is able to move freely prior to use.
Using for wet pick up
Choose an accessory and push onto the hose grip or extension tube.
Plug into mains and press the on/o switch to the I position to switch on.

Brushes on the oor head should be visible when using on hard oors.

Emptying and cleaning the tank after dry pick up
Lift and unhook the clips to remove the lid.
Lift out the lter bag from the tank and tap against a bin to remove the dirt and debris.

Lift out the lter bag from the tank and tap against a bin to remove the dirt and debris.
Empty the tank. Use a damp cloth to remove any dirt and debris.
TIP
Empty the tank, rinse with warm water (Max 40˚C) to remove dirt/debris and wipe dry.

Cleaning the lter bag
Lift and unhook the clips to remove the lid.
Lift out the lter bag from the tank and tap against a bin to remove the dirt and debris.
For best cleaning results clean the lter bag after every use and replace every 6 months.
Cleaning the post-motor lter
Unclip the grill and lter and remove.
Separate the foam lter from the grill.
Tap the lter against a bin to remove the dirt and debris.
Rinse under a warm tap max 40°c, allow to fully dry before replacing into the Wet & Dry vacuum.

Cleaning the wet pick up tool
Taking care of your machine
Push the clips to remove the brush and squeegee.
Slide the squeegee out of the tool and wipe clean with a damp cloth.
Storage
Before storing, the Wet & Dry vacuum, the lter and lter bag must be thoroughly clean and dry. Store the Wet & Dry vacuum in a cool, dry area.
Power cord storage
Release the upper cord hook from the handle and wind the cord to store.
The brush can be washed (max 40°c).
Close the upper cord hook when not being used to store the cord.
TIP
What to do if it goes wrong
IMPORTANT: Unplug and switch o Wet & Dry vacuum before performing maintenance or troubleshooting checks.

Why won’t the Wet & Dry vacuum pick up?
Why won’t the blower function work?
Why does my Wet & Dry vacuum have no power?
• Check the ‘This pack contains’ panel on the box to make sure the part is included with your Wet & Dry vacuum.
• The lid may not be correctly tted, remove the lid from the Wet & Dry vacuum and ret ensuring it’s locked into place. The lid will not t correctly if the lter bag is not in place.
• The lter or lter bag may be clogged. To clean the lter or lter bag go to ‘Taking care of your machine’.
• The tank maybe full, empty the tank. Go to ‘Taking care of your machine’.
• There may be a blockage in the hose/tube. Disconnect from the Wet & Dry vacuum and carefully remove any blockages.
• Float may be stuck in the upright position. The Wet & Dry vacuum is tted with a oat. When the tank is full, the oat will shut o the suction to the vacuum. You will be able to hear if this has happened as the motor noise will increase. Once the oat is activated, switch o the Wet & Dry vacuum and empty the tank. If the tank is not full, then turn o the Wet & Dry vacuum at the power switch and wait for the oat under the lid to settle.
• The tank may be full, empty the tank. Go to ‘Taking care of your machine’.
• The lter may be clogged. To clean the lter go to ‘Taking care of your machine’.
• Hose may be incorrectly tted, ret. Go to ‘Using your machine’.
• There may be a blockage in the hose/tube. Disconnect from the Wet & Dry vacuum and carefully remove any blockages.
• The plug may not be fully pushed into the electrical socket.
• Check the fuse in the plug. If this needs replacing, always replace with a 13amp fuse.
• The motor thermostat may have tripped. If this has happened, unplug the Wet & Dry vacuum. Empty the tank and check the hose for blockages. Clean the lter and lter bag and allow the Wet & Dry vacuum to cool for approximately 1 hour (if you have washed the lter and lter bag you will need to wait 24 hours for them to fully dry before putting them back into the Wet & Dry vacuum).
Why is dust escaping from the Wet & Dry vacuum?
• The lter and lter bag may be clogged. To clean the lter and/or lter bag go to ‘Taking care of your machine’.
