The VARI❋LITE®VLM™moving
mirror adds a dual-sided highly reflective
mirror panel to the same yoke assembly
used in the VL5™and VL6™luminaires.
The combination of two reflecting
surfaces and the capability of continuously
spinning the mirror panel on the tilt axis
produces a wide variety of effects. The
VLM moving mirror can be used to
augment VARI❋LITE wash and spot
luminaires. It can also be used with
conventional sources to create beam
motion effects.
The VLM moving mirror can be
controlled from any VARI❋LITE
console, or can be controlled from a
wide variety of DMX consoles.

The unit shall be an integrally designed, remote controlled moving mirror
unit.The yoke shall be constructed of aluminum alloy and steel for lightweight
strength.The mirror shall be road-worthy and dual-sided,with a highly reflective
polycarbonate finish.
Two enclosed, high torque motors shall be provided to permit movement
on a horizontal plane of 360˚ and on a vertical plane of 360˚. Continuous
spinning shall be provided on the vertical plane. Control cabling shall be run
internally to prevent tangling.The low voltage motors shall be belt driven,
providing positional resolution and repeatability of 0.3˚ on either axis. Manual
override under power shall result in no harm to the drive mechanism.
Each unit shall be equipped with an on-board microprocessor providing
diagnostic and self-calibration functions. In the event the moving mirror unit
encounters any physical obstruction during calibration, the pan and tilt motors
will automatically be disabled preventing damage to the mechanisms.
Control cable to unit shall provide both digital control signal and power
from power supply box. In addition to being easily hung from a truss or piping,
a floor stand shall be available. Safety cable shall be provided with unit.
Exterior finish shall be black epoxy coat.Total weight shall not exceed 12 lbs
(5.5 kg).The unit shall be UL and C-UL listed and CE-marked.
