INSTALLATION GUIDE

With the exceptions noted in the next
paragraph, Vanco warrants to the original
purchaser that the equipment it manufactures
or sells will be free from defects in materials
and workmanship for a period of two years
from the date of purchase. Should this product,
in Vanco’s opinion, prove defective within this
warranty period, Vanco, at its option, will repair
or replace this product without charge. Any
defective parts replaced become the property
of Vanco. This warranty does not apply to
those products which have been damaged
due to accident, unauthorized alterations,
improper repair, modifications, inadequate
maintenance and care, or use in any manner
for which the product was not originally
intended. Items integrated into Vanco products
that are made by other manufacturers, notably
computer hard drives and liquid crystal display
panels, are limited to the term of the warranty
offered by the respective manufacturers. Such
specific warranties are available upon request
to Vanco. A surge protector, power conditioner
unit, or an uninterruptible power supply must
be installed in the electrical circuit to protect
against power surges. If repairs are needed
during the warranty period the purchaser will
be required to provide a sales receipt/sales
invoice or other acceptable proof of purchase
to the seller of this equipment. The seller will
then contact Vanco regarding warranty repair
or replacement.

LIMITED WARRANTY

Every effort has been made to ensure that this
product is free of defects. The manufacturer
of this product cannot be held liable for the
use of this hardware or any direct or indirect
consequential damages arising from its use. It
is the responsibility of the user and installer of
the hardware to check that it is suitable for their
requirements and that it is installed correctly.
All rights are reserved. No parts of this manual
may be reproduced or transmitted by any form
or means electronic or mechanical, including
photocopying, recording or by any information
storage or retrieval system without the written
consent of the publisher. Manufacturer
reserves the right to revise any of its hardware

CONNECTIONS AND DESCRIPTIONS

1. Screws for mounting ears (tighten to
secure Spot For Dot to the drywall)

2. 3.5mm stereo plug to connect to the
Amazon Echo Dot AUDIO OUTPUT

3. Micro USB connector for power (connect
to Amazon Echo Dot for power)

4. Secure points for wall plate to mount to
(simply press wall plate onto each point
to secure wall plate)

5. Place the Amazon Echo Dot into this cavity
(Note placement of the Amazon Echo Dot,
match up buttons with Spot For Dot)

6. Gain control for audio adjustment

• This device must be installed in accordance with
National and Local electrical codes.

• To prevent severe shock or electrocution,
always turn power OFF at the service panel
before working with wiring.

• This device should be used with copper or copper­clad wire. DO NOT use with aluminum wire.

NOTES TO THE INSTALLER

Spot For Dot is a wall mount station for the

Amazon Echo Dot (2nd generation) with a built in
80-watt amplifier to deliver music and information
amplified to any set of speakers. The unique design
also allows audio input from a variable line level
source, such as a phone, tablet or TV (headphone
or variable audio output) to be connected and
played through the amplifier to almost any kind of
speaker(s). Perfect for a 2 channel setup with Alexa
voice control available at any time. For a clean look
with no wiring exposed, the Spot For Dot is a great
solution. Include one in every room for wireless
distributed audio! Spot For Dot mounts within a
standard 2x4 stud wall at least 3⅝" depth, and
can be tapped into the main electrical wiring for a
seamless appearance.

We recommend that you use a professional
electrician to install the Spot for Dot due to the
power requirements.

SAFETY WARNINGS

1. Please check and conform to local electrical code before installing the Spot For Dot.

3. Make sure your Amazon Echo Dot has been setup with your Amazon account before starting
installation. Follow the instructions in the Amazon Alexa app to connect Amazon Echo Dot to Wifi.

4. Use the provided template to cut a hole into the wall where you want the Spot For Dot to be installed.
Ensure the placement is between studs.

CONNECT AND OPERATE

7. Mount the Spot For Dot into the wall using the
screws and wing clamps. Tighten both screws
until the Spot For Dot is secure and flush with the
drywall.

5. Remove the screw down connector and
connect the speaker cables. Replace once the
cables have been secured to the connector in
the correct order as shown

6. Unscrew the screws for the power terminal
and connect the cables from the power
source. Then tighten screws, ensure the wires
are secured.

8. Install the Amazon Echo Dot (only the 2nd
generation Amazon Echo Dot will fit) by
connecting the 3.5mm Stereo into the audio
output and 5v micro-USB connector into power.

OPTIONAL: Connect 3.5mm” stereo jack to variable
audio source such as mobile phone, tablet, or TV
for audio into the amplifier. This is a great option
for running a 2ch system for a TV. Instead of utilizing
the speakers on the TV, have it amplified through

Spot For Dot.

9. Insert the Spot For Dot into the housing and
insert the provided wall-plate. Ensure the
buttons on the Amazon Echo Dot match up with
the Spot For Dot for correct placement.

10. Turn on power and test and enjoy! Adjust gain
as needed. Play your favorite tunes and install in
other rooms for wireless distributed audio.
