This Owner Guide gives sufficient details to enable your gas fire to be operated and
maintained.

This fire is f or use with natural gas (G20) in the United K ingdom (G B )
and the Republic of Ireland (IE).
It is a radi ant-convector gas fire
and must not be used f or any other purpose.

Have the fire installed by a competent person. In the Un i ted Kingdom, installation must be in accordance with the latest edition of th e Gas Safety (in s tallation & us e ) Regulati on s . In the Republic of Ireland, installation must be in accordance with all national and local regulations in force.
Have the chimney swept prior to installation if it was previously used for solid fuel the fi re.
Have the fire installed in accordance with the installation instructions
Provide a minimum clearance of 150mm above the top of the outer case to any shel f made of wood or other c ombustible material where the shelf is not more than 150mm deep. For a shelf deeper than 150mm, add 12.5m m to the clearance for every 25mm of additional shelf d epth.
Provide a suitable gu ar d wh ich compl i e s with BS 6539 or 6778 for the protection of you n g children , th e elderly and th e infirm . Such a guard is als o r e commend ed for the protec tion of pet animals. (Although this fire conforms to all the applicable standards, it is a heating appliance and certain parts of its surface will become hot.)
Note: The glass panel and apron together ac t as a fireguard conforming to BS 1945:1971 and satisfy the Heat ing Appliance (Fireguard) (Safety) Regulations 1991.
Switch th e f ire off and al low to cool bef or e attempting to clean, service, etc.
Wait three minutes before attempti n g to r e light if th e f ire is switched off or if the flames are extinguished for any reason. (Your fi r e is fitted with a safety dev i ce which will automatical ly shut off th e gas s upply to the fi r e if, for an y reason, the f lames go out.)
Get advice about the suitability of any wall covering near your fire. Soft wall coverings (e.g. embossed vinyl, etc.) which have a raised pattern, are easily affected by heat. They may, therefore, scorc h or bec ome discolour ed wh en c l os e to a heating appliance. Please bear this in mind whenever you are considering redecorating.
Provide a minimum clearance of 100mm between the outer case sides an d an y corner wall or oth e r pr ojection. Pleas e bear this in mind if ever you are considering altering the room.

Put any paper or other material on the fire.
Hang clothi n g , towels or any other fabri c s over th e f i r e.
Fill in the space behind the case.
Use the fire with a damaged coal piece or with the coal
incorrectly positioned.
Use the fire if the glass window is damaged.
