SOUND-DAMPENING PART VALLOX 245
The sound-dampening part is designed to be installed
on top of the Vallox 245 ventilation unit to reduce duct
noises. The sound-dampening part has a cover that can
be opened. The cover allows for cleaning the ducts and
the sound-dampening part without disconnecting the
ducts. Where required, the dampening elements can be
removed for cleaning.
INSTALLATION
1. Remove the door of the sound-dampening part.
2. When the part is to be installed in a VKL model unit,
make holes in the radiator’s rubber feedthroughs
and in the section that will be mounted against the
wall (2A in the R model and 2B in the L model) and
remove insulation at the feedthroughs.
3. You can remove the sound-dampening elements to
reduce weight (see changing handedness on page
3).
4. Install the extensions delivered with the sounddampening element (D) and the related insulation
(E) in the sound-dampening part.
The sound-dampening part has sound-dampening
elements for supply and extract air ducts, which have
been installed ready at the factory.
There are four Ø 250 mm female duct outlets at the top
of the sound-dampening part. There are feedthroughs
at the top and in the base of the sound-dampening part
for VKL radiator pipes.
5. Move the cables of the ventilation unit so that
they leave from the feedthrough at the top of the
ventilation unit towards the door.
6. Lift the sound-dampening part on top of the
ventilation unit. Ensure that the extensions (D)
and related insulation (E) are firmly in place.
7. When the part is to be installed in a VKL model
unit, install the VKL radiator pipes (2A/2B).
8. Feed the cables of the ventilation unit into
the cable conduit in the middle of the sounddampening part.
9. If you have removed the sound-dampening
elements, install them back in place (see
changing handedness on page 3).

SOUND-DAMPENING PART VALLOX 245
CHANGING HANDEDNESS
Remove the door of the sound-dampening
part. Remove the locking screw (3D) and then
the foremost sound-dampening element (3A)
of the supply air duct by lifting it. The sounddampening element of the extract air duct (3B),
located behind the supply air duct, has been
fastened onto the intermediate wall with eight
cross-slot headed screws.
The sound-dampening elements have been
installed in the left side at the factory (for an R
model unit). When the sound-dampening part is
to be installed in an L-model unit, the dampening
elements must be moved to the ducts on the
right side. Remove the maintenance door (3C)
from the wall between the right-side ducts.
Move the dampening element (3B) to the right
side. Next, turn the dampening element (3A)
upside down and move it to the right side so
that it is in the middle of the duct outlet. The
element is now installed correctly. Mount the
maintenance door (3C) on the sidewall of the
left-side ducts.
