2 Inflating instructions
To inflate the boat properly, proceed as follows:
A) Make sure that the valves are in the sealing position - i.e. you must be
able to rotate the central pin rotate inwards by 7/8 mm and then return it to the initial position. Otherwise the pin must be pressed and rotated by a quarter of a turn
ENGLISH
Central Pin
Deflation:
Unscrew the cap:
- press and release the central pin to adjust the pressure.
- press and rotate 90° the central pin of the infla te valve, to deflate the tube completely.

The four valves for inner air chambers are located on the boat’s sides. The valve for the only external air chamber is on the right tube, at transom height.
ENGLISH
Inner

Valliant ribs with PVC tube are equipped with inner chambers. Follow these instructions in order to inflate the tube correctly
B) Start inflating the boat from the inner air chambers with grey valves
until you reach the operating pressure .
INNER AIR CHAMBERS INFLATION

01/2012 - Rev.00
CAUTION
DO NOT use air compressors or scuba tanks to inflate your boat.
CAUTION
When inflating the inner air chambers, it is not possible to detect when the correct operating pressure is reached (0,15 bars). Therefore we recommend using a pressure gauge, available in Arimar’s authorized centres, to avoid any overpressure.
C) Inflate the boat through the black valve until the recommended
pressure of the whole boat is reached. See section 3 for recommended operating pressure.

Black Fin ribs with hypalon tube are equipped with baffle. Follow this instruction in order to correctly inflate the tube
D) Start inflating the tube from the valve installed on the left side rearward.
ENGLISH
E) To fully inflate the tube, move to the other valves clockwise. See section 3 for recommended operating pressure.
F) Put and screw the caps clockwise
NOTE
Due to air leaks in one sector, the other may suffer from an internal pressure-relieving, which in any case does not affect the boat’s floating

01/2012 - Rev.00
VALVE OF OVERPRESSURE
ENGLISH
Valve with protection plug Valve without protection plug
If the tube is inflated over the standard pressure or due to an excessive rise of the temperature the valve of overpressure allows to discharge the excess air present inside the tube. It is recommended to pay the maximum attention during these operations and always keep under control the action of the overpressure valves, verifying the end of the aeration action and checking the pressure of exercise through the manometer as reported in the paragraph “pressure of
exercise”.
CAUTION
For safety purposes, it is recommended to always follow the proper inflating procedure
9 / 51
01/2012 - Rev.00
3 Operating pressure
Use only Arimar inflation devices, provided with the boat according to the model. The right operating pressure is 18 kPa (0,18 bar) for external air chambers and 15 kPa (0,15 bar) for inner ones.
WITH INTERNAL CHAMBERS (PVC) (the number of the inner chambers is
ENGLISH
approximate)
WITH BAFFLE (Hypalon/neoprene)(the numbers of the chambers is
approximate)
CAUTION
DO NOT use air compressors or scuba tanks to inflate your boat.
10 / 51
01/2012 - Rev.00
DANGER
An excessive inflation of the boat leads to a false sense of security and is dangerous for passengers. In fact, the slightest scratch in the tubes could cause huge breaks. Remember that any increase in temperature leads to a decrease in the mechanical resistance of the boat’s joints and to significant increases of inner temperature. Therefore, the joints – if submitted to excessive mechanical stress - may suddenly break.
We recommend to use a pressure gauge to check the pressure of your boat, which must be 18 kPa (0,18 bar and approx. 180 cm of column of water) in the external air chambers and 15 kPa (0,15 bar and approx. 150 of column of water) in the inner air chambers. The pressure fluctuates with changes in temperature and increases after prolonged exposure to sunlight. For instance, a 10 degree variation in the ambient temperature will cause an increase or a decrease in the inner pressure of 3,18 kPa. The nominal pressure will go from 18 kPa to 21,8 kPa
ENGLISH
NOTE
Use of the pressure gauge: a) Insert the pressure gauge into each valve, starting from the grey
valves.
b) The pressure gauge must be inserted when the boat is only partially
inflated.
c) Insert the pressure gauge into the valve to measure the pressure.
Then, inflate the boat more and measure the pressure again. Go on until you reach the proper pressure.
11 / 51
01/2012 - Rev.00
CAUTION
The boat’s pressure fluctuates with changes in temperature. Adjust the pressure by inflating and deflating the boat, especially after prolonged exposure to sunlight
ENGLISH
The tube pressure decreases when the boat is in the water or during the night, and increases when the boat is exposed to the sunlight. For this reason, when the boat is being haulaged after a long exposition to the sunlight, we recommend to reduce the tube pressure to balance the overpressure.
DANGER
An excessive inflation of the boat leads to a false sense of security and is dangerous for passengers. In fact, the slightest scratch in the fabric could cause huge breaks. Please also consider that the inner pressure raises when the ambient temperature is high. For example, the pressure of a boat which has been inflated in the morning with a temperature of 25, at noon, when the temperature is 50/60°, there will be twice the operating pressure in the tubes. Such increase in pressure, if not avoided, can cause excessive strain of the mechanical joints and might lead to sudden breaks.

Dimensions and tolerances are in conformity to EN ISO 8666:2002
(1) CAUTION – Do not overcome the max recommended number of persons. Apart from the number of people on board, their total weight as well as the one of the crew can not overcome the max recommended load. (2) The maximum recommended load includes the weight of all people on board, supplies and personal effects, all the equipment not included in the net boat mass, the cargo (if exists) and all the liquids subjected to consumption (water, fuel. etc.) (3) CAUTION – the whole capacity could not be totally available to be used according to the asset and the load. A fuel reserve by 20% needs also to be considered.
CAUTION – Do not overcome the recommended max load. The unit must be always thoroughly loaded and the load distributed in an appropriate way to maintain the project asset (approx. Horizontally). Do not put heavy loads on top.
NOTE
For mod. 580 and 630 in C category, the discharge system is of static auto-empting kind with discharge ball-shaped valves inside the bow
peak (for the closure in case of emergency) and bilge pump.
For all models in B category, the discharge system is of static auto- empting kind with discharge ball-shaped valves inside the bow peak (for the closure in case of emergency) and bilge pump.
