INSTALLATION

Remove the metal mounting plate from the rear of the V-2900 enclosure. Using two #6 3/4" wood screws, mount the plate in a vacant space on the backboard with the telephone system common equipment. Both
mounting holes must be utilized to insure secure mounting of the unit. See Figure A.
Open the V-2900 enclosure to access connections and option switches. Slide the rear of the unit (contains the board) onto the mounting plate and lock in place with screw provided. Make connections.
Connections
1. Connect Tip and Ring of the C.O. Line Port
from a PABX, key system or single line phone to screw terminals labeled Tip and Ring on the V-2900.
2. Connect –24 Vdc ("-" terminal) from the power supply to screw terminal on V-2900 labeled –24 Vdc.
3. Connect GND ("+" terminal) from the power supply to upper screw terminal on V-2900 labeled GROUND.
4. Connect talkback speaker Tip and Ring to screw terminals labeled SPKR on the V-2900.
5. Connect door pushbutton connections (momentary closure) to the second screw terminal labeled GROUND and SPKR SW on the V-2900. (See Figure 2).

PUSHBUTTON

OPERATION

The V-2900 is a single talkpath unit which allows an individual at a external location to converse with another individual inside a building. When the V-2900 is used with a door plate speaker, pressing the pushbutton on the door plate speaker will cause the phone to ring within the building (1 second on, 4 seconds off). By answering the call, the system user can converse with the person at the door. Similarly, the person at the telephone location may access the door speaker by dialing the access code or pressing the line button corresponding with the loop start trunk port or C. O. Line position of the PABX or E-Key system that the V-2900 is connected to. (In the case of a dedicated single line telephone, simply going offhook will access the door speaker).
NOTE: Operation is the same when used with a dedicated single line telephone, loop start trunk port of a PABX, or C. O. Line position of an E-Key system.
