Description
These 25/70-volt Lay-In Ceiling Speaker assemblies
provide a quick and easy solution to speaker installations.
The S-422A-2 and S-522A-2 are complete speaker assemblies
including baffle and back box. This integral design meets
or exceeds ASTM E84 Flame & Smoke Test with a 3hour burn rating (UL 181), which allows this integrated
package to be used in plenum type drop ceilings.
Several inputs are provided on the S-422A-2 assembly to
provide the proper volume level when used in different
acoustical environments. The S-522A-2 assembly provides
a rotary tap volume control accessible from the front on the
speaker. Both of these assemblies are well suited to be
used in classrooms, offices, meeting rooms and other
applications where high quality sound reproduction is
required.
Both the S-422A-2 and the S-522A-2 eliminate the mess
and broken tiles that often accompany installations using
standard speaker assemblies. These dynamic all in one
packages eliminate cutting circular holes in tiles,
mounting backboxes and mounting speaker grilles to
backbox assemblies. The white finish of the perforated
grille blends easily with most décors and provides an
unobtrusive speaker installation.
For installations in a 2’ x 4’ ceiling grid, an optional trim bar
(V-TBAR*) may be ordered. The V-TBAR provides support
and a finished appearance to one edge of the speaker grille.
These assemblies are also an excellent choice for all applications
requiring intercom capabilities. They are specifically designed for
applications involving the 5100 Communications System to provide
superb talkback quality.
