Before you start
Important Notice
• Read the complete operation instructions carefully. This contributes to better
operation.
• Make sure the source device is correct and workable.
• To guarantee data consistency, it is strongly suggested that the capacity of the source
and targets are the same.
• It is strongly suggest to use “Copy + Compare” to achieve a perfect duplication.
Safety Precautions
• The warranty will expire if damage is incurred resulting from non-compliance with
theses operating instructions.
• Please turn off the power before replacing the socket.
• Never turn off the power while processing the firmware update.
• Use only approved power sources.
• The product is only suitable for operation in a dry, dust free, clean environment.
• Do not allow liquids or foreign objects to enter. Failure to do so may severely damage

Chapter 1 - Product Introduction
1. Features
• New generation of HDD tower duplicators with Free-Chain technology.
• With the specially designed HDD rack plus Free-Chain technology, the Super 1 Series
can connect 100 HDDs at maximum.
• Each rack has its own independent controller which means the Super 1 Series can
duplicate lots of targets at one time without slowing down the speed.
• Supports high copying speeds up to 6GB/minute.
• Has clear & independent LED light indication. No more confusion about the working
status.
• The auto power control system helps to protect the HDD from any damage during the
insertion and removal from the duplicator which is better than the method called “Hot
Swap”.

Copies the source HDD to multiple HDDs. See Function 6.1 “Copy area” to choose the copy mode
you want.
Compares source and target data bit for bit.
Performs copying and then comparing when this function is selected.
4.1 Quick Erase
Erases the HDD's index table only.
4.2 Full Erase
Erases all of the HDD’s contents.
4.3 DoD erase
Erases HDDs three times. This complies with USA’s Department of Defense (DoD) standard.
4.4 DoD EraseComp
Erases HDDs three times (in compliance with USA’s Department of Defense standard), and also
performs a bit-for-bit check to see if the data is completely erased.
5.1 Show HDD info
Shows the HDD’s basic information such as the HDD’s model name and capacity.
5.2 Update System
5.3 System Info
This function will show information of the duplicator system, including the controller model number
and software version.
6.1 Copy Area
Setup copy mode.
6.2 Skip Error
Set to ignore errors of source HDD while copying. (0-65535)
6.3 Erase Master
Setup to erase the
source HDD or not.
6.4 Unknown Format
6.5 Transfer Rate
Select the proper transfer rate UDMA2-7. 7 is the fastest.

5.2.1 Update BIOS
To update firmware on the system via the HDD.
5.2.2 Create Update HDD
To format the HDD with a 2GB FAT partition in order to quickly save
firmware in the HDD
6.1.1 System and files
Set to copy the source HDD's data area only.
6.1.2 A11 partitions
Set to copy all partitions of the source HDD.
6.1.3 Whole HDD
Set to copy the whole source HDD.
6.3.1 Disable
Disables to erase the source HDD.
6.3.2 Enable
Enables to erase the source HDD.
6.4.1 Copy unknown
Copies unknown areas with formats that are unidentifiable to the device.
6.4.2 Skip unknown
Skips copying unknown areas when the duplicator can not identify the
format.
6.6.1 ONE Byte
A random character to be written into every byte.
6.6.2 4MB Byte
A set of random characters to be written into a set of areas.
6.8.1 Wait HDD Time
Auto start time after plugging in the HDD.
6.8.2 Lock Key
After this function is selected, only OK and ESC keys are working.

Chapter 2 - Function Introduction
1. Copy
It copies data from the source HDD to the target HDD. Please ensure you have selected
the copy mode you want before executing the copying process. Refer to function 6.1
Copy Area for details.

Note:
• Select the copy mode that you want to use in Function 6.1 Copy Area.
• The Default setting is the quick copy mode "System and Files".
2. Compare
It is used to check if the data on the source HDD is identical to the target HDD after the
duplication is finished.
3. Copy & Compare
It does the copying first, and then it compares the target copied with the source to check
the correctness of the duplication.
4. Erase
There are Quick Erase, Full Erase, and DoD Erase, totally three kinds of erasing modes.
Select one of them to execute erase function according to your need.

Note:
• Users can go to Function “6.3 Erase Master” to select if erasing the source HDD. The default
setting is “Disable” to erase the source HDD.
• This function can be stopped while processing by pressing [ESC] for about 3~4 seconds.
4.1 Quick Erase
This function only erases the HDD index. It is the quickest way to erase the HDD.
Please make sure you backup all important data before using this function because this
function will delete the data in the HDD.
4.2 Full Erase
This function will erase all HDD sectors. It will take longer time than Quick Erase.
Please make sure you backup all important data before using this function because this
function will delete the data in the HDD.
4.3 DoD Erase
This is to comply with the U.S.A. Department of Defense (DoD 5220) standard to fully
erase the HDD. It uses the bit-for-bit method to rewrite the HDD and guarantee all data
is erased by three-time erasing process. Please make sure you backup all important data
before using this function because this function will delete the data in the HDD.

Function Introduction
4.4 DoD Erase Comp
As well as DoD Erase, this function will also execute the compare function to make sure
the random bit was correctly written. This function erases each sector of the HDD three
times: the first time with zeros (0x00), second time with 0xFF, and the third time with
random characters. It performs a bit-for-bit check to see if the data is completely erased.
It will damage the data in the HDD, so please make sure you backup all important data
before using this function.
5. Utility
5.1 Show HDD Info.
This function will show the HDD's basic information such as the HDD’s capacity and
model number.

5.2 Update System
You can follow the steps to update the system firmware:
• Select Function 5.2.2

2.Create Update
• Create Update HDD (create a 2GB FAT partition)
(The purpose of this is because 2GB FAT HDD Partition can speed up the update
process.)

• Download the BIOS from the PC to your HDD.

5.3 System Info.
This function shows the duplicator information such as the model name and firmware
version.

6. Setup
6.1 Copy Area
6.1.1 System and Files
It copies the source HDD’s System and Files instead of the whole HDD. The system will
analyze the source HDD and identify the data area to copy. As long as the source HDD’s
data is within the target HDD’s free space, the copy will be processed.

System and Files only supports FAT, NTFS, and LINUX (ext2/ ext3/ ext4).

When choosing “System and Files Copy”, only 20G data will be
copied, and it just takes 6.2% time compared to “Whole HDD
Copy”. The target HDD will be exactly the same as source HDD
after copy.

6.1.2 All Partitions
This mode will copy all of the partitions bit for bit including the free space. The capacity of
the target HDD has to be larger than all the partitions.

When choosing “All Partitions Copy”, only 120G data will be
copied, and it just takes 37.5% time compared to “Whole HDD
Copy”. The Target HDD will be exactly the same as source HDD
after copy.
6.1.3 Whole HDD
It copies the entire HDD, regardless of content, format, partition, or free space.
Using this mode to duplicate the source HDD completely will take much more time.

be copied, and it takes the longest time. The target HDD will be

6.2 Skip Error
This function sets the number of errors you are prepared to accept during the copy
process.

This function allows you to disable or enable the source to be executed the erase

6.4 Unknown Format
This function allows you to copy or skip any partitions with an unknown format.

6.5 Transfer Rate
You can select the best transfer rate from UDMA 2 to UDMA7 for your HDD duplication
progress. If you are not confident on the HDD quality or you find a high failure rate on on
"Copy" and "Compare". it is recommended to slow down the UDMA mode.
