Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Portable Cross The Counter hearing loop system. We hope you
will be satisfied!
Providing versatile desktop induction loop assistance for hearing aid wearers, the portable
induction loop is powered by a rechargeable battery and is always ready for immediate use
if charged. No installation works are required.
Please read this user guide before use of this product.
To Charge
Plug the switched power supply into the P-CTC unit and to the power outlet.
The unit can be charged whilst in use but does so in a slow charge mode. The LED on the
rear side flashes red rapidly when the unit is being charged. When the LED shows a steady
red, the unit is fully charged. The unit can be used for about 4 hours on a full charge and
has 24 hours stand-by time. When the battery needs charging the LED will flash red every
few seconds.
To use
Place the P-CTC unit on the table or desk between the speaker and hearing aid user. The
unit’s rear side, where the microphone is located should face the speaker. Activate the unit
by moving the rear side slide switch to “ON” position. The LED should then show a steady
green. Note that the hearing aid user must put their hearing aid in T or MT position to
activate the t-coil. The working range for the listener is approximately 1.2m from the unit.
The speaker should sit about 1m from the microphone on the rear side of the unit. The
speaker should talk in a normal tone and volume. Should the listener experience the sound
too loud or too quiet, simply move the unit further from or closer to the listener.
When you are done using the unit, we recommend that you put it back on charge for it to
be fully charged for the next user.
Connect a boundary microphone
The P-CTC unit can also be used in meetings with more than one speaker. For this we
recommend that you use a Univox 13T boundary microphone. Connect the 13T’s 3.5mm
plug into the 3.5mm socket marked EXT. The P-CTC unit should as before be placed
