RAW CONVERSION
RAW pictures store information on camera settings separate­ly from the data captured by the camera image sensor. Using C PLAY BACK MENU> RAW CONVERSION, you can create JPEG copies of RAW pictures using di erent options for the settings listed on page 159. The original image data are una ected, al­lowing a single RAW image to be processed in a multitude of dif­ferent ways.

The settings that can be adjusted when converting pictures from RAW to JPEG are:

FILM SIMULATION Simulate the eff ects of diff erent types of fi lm. GRAIN EFFECT Add a fi lm grain eff ect.
WHITE BALANCE Adjust white balance.
WB SHIFT Fine-tune white balance. HIGHLIGHT TONE Adjust highlights. SHADOW TONE Adjust shadows. COLOR Adjust color density. SHARPNESS Sharpen or soften outlines. NOISE REDUCTION Process the copy to reduce mottling.
LENS MODULATION OPTIMIZER
COLOR SPACE Choose the color space used for color reproduction.
Create a JPEG copy using the settings in eff ect at the time the photo was taken.
Reduce loss of detail in highlights and shadows for natural-looking results when photographing high-contrast scenes.
Improve defi nition by adjusting for diff raction and the slight loss of focus at the periphery of the lens.

Delete individual pictures, multiple selected pictures, or all pic­tures.
Deleted pictures cannot be recovered. Protect important pictures or

SIMULTANEOUS DELETE(RAW SLOT1/JPG SLOT2)
Options
Taking photos with RAW/JPEG selected for D SAVE DATA SET-UP>CARD SLOT SETTING (STILL IMAGE) creates two copies:
a RAW image recorded to the card in Slot1 and a JPEG image re­corded to the card in Slot2. If ON is selected for SIMULTANEOUS DELETE(RAW SLOT1/JPEG SLOT 2), deleting the RAW image will also delete the JPEG copy.
