1.1This operating manual should be read through carefully before installing and operating this
AC power distribution panel.
1.2DPAC1UT-AB-I-2-590 only 1.75 inches (1 rack space) high to minimize rack space and
can be mounted in either a 19- or 23-inch relay rack with corresponding brackets. It can
be mounted from the front of the rack with osets every ¼-inch from front to back to align
with existing rackmounted equipment.
The unit provides a single 2-pole AC circuit breaker on each side A and B in position 3 as

The input terminals on each side are marked G, N, L1 & L2 and are supplied by a single phase
120/240VAC source. The input current rating is 25A for each side. N, L1 & L2 terminals of
the A side are paralleled with the B side as shown in the external wiring schematic, gure 5
and rear view photo, gure 3, with #12AWG wire. This allows the user to provide a single
50A feed to either the A side or the B side.
The load terminals on each side A & B are marked G, N, L1 & L2 and are rated 120/240VAC
@ 25A each.

2.0 SAFETY WARNINGS
2.1 This distribution panel has hazardous external and internal voltages and are intended only
for installation in “restricted access locations”. They should be handled, tested and installed
only by qualied technical persons who are trained in the use of power systems and are well
aware of the hazards involved. The input terminals are at hazardous voltage potentials. Do
not touch this area when power is applied.
2.2When operating these distribution panel, the chassis ground terminal must be connected to
safety ground by means of a three-wire AC power line to minimize electrical shock hazard
and to ensure low EMI (electromagnetic interference).
2.3The internal voltages are at hazardous potentials. The distribution panel cover should not
be removed. There are no user-serviceable components in these units. Removing the cover
will void the warranty.
2.4 Elevated Operating Ambient - If installed in a closed or multi-unit rack assembly, the
operating ambient temperature of the rack environment may be greater than room ambient.
Therefore, consideration should be given to installing these distribution panels in an
environment compatible with the maximum specied ambient temperature.
DPAC1UT-AB-I-2-590
OPERATING MANUAL
2.5 Reduced Air Flow - Installation of these panels in a rack should be such that the amount
of air ow required for safe operation is not compromised.
Mechanical Loading - Mounting of these panels in the rack should be such that a hazardous
2.6
condition is not achieved due to uneven mechanical loading.
2.7Circuit Overloading - Consideration should be given to the connection of these panels to
the supply circuit and the eect that overloading of the circuits might have on overcurrent
protection and supply wiring. Appropriate consideration of equipment nameplate ratings
should be used when addressing this concern.
2.8 Reliable Earthing - Reliable earthing of rack-mounted equipment should be maintained.
Particular attention should be given to supply connections other than direct connections to
the branch circuit (e.g. use of power strips).”
3.0 WARRANTY (summary)
These distribution panels are are warranted for two (2) years from date of shipment against defects
in material and workmanship. This warranty does not extend to products which have been opened,
altered or repaired by persons other than persons authorized by the manufacturer or to products
which become defective due to acts of God, negligence or the failure of customer to fully follow
instructions with respect to installation, application or maintenance.

5.1This distribution panel was carefully tested, inspected and packaged for shipment from
our factory . Upon receipt of the unit it should be carefully unpacked and inspected for any
damage in shipment.
5.2If there is evidence of damage, do not attempt to test the unit. The freight carrier should be
notied immediately and a claim for the cost of the distribution panel should be led with
the carrier for direct reimbursement. Be sure to include the model and serial number of the
damaged unit in all correspondence with the freight carrier. Also save the shipping carton
and packing materials as evidence of damage for the freight carrier’s inspection.
5.3 UNIPOWER will cooperate fully in case of any shipping damage investigation.
5.4 Always save the packing materials for later use in shipping the unit. Never ship the
distribution panel without proper packing.

6.0 INSTALLATION
6.1 Mounting - This distribution panel can be mounted in either 19- or 23-inch racks by using
the appropriate brackets. Mount it from the front of the rack using the correct osets to
align with existing rack-mounted equipment. The bracket osets are every quarter inch
from front to back.
6.2 Connections - Connections to the distribution panel should be made as outlined in Sections
1.4 through 1.5. Wires or cables for load connections should be minimum size #12AWG
and source connections should be minimum #10AWG and suitable for 105°C rating. Make
sure that all connections are clean and rm to minimize contact resistance.
6.3 Chassis Ground Connection - At the center, near the bottom of each unit, is the chassis
ground terminal. This terminal is a no. 8-32 stud with a nut. It should be connected to the
system frame ground. The terminal is internally connected to the AC ground.
a) Remove screws 1 and 2 as noted below and retain.
b) Replace the screws with the provided standos.
c) Fasten the cover to the standos with the screws from Step a) above.

7.0 SETUP & TESTING
7.1It is not necessary to have the distribution panel mounted in a rack for initial testing. This
can be done on a bench. It is not necessary to have loads connected to the panel for this
testing.
7.2 With any AC power source “o”, connect the input wires to inputs N, L1 and L2 of the A
side of the distribution panel. Connect system frame ground to the chassis ground terminal.
Set all circuit breakers to “on”.
7.3Turn on the input power source. Check the AC output voltage from L1 and L2 to N at
each set of output terminals (loads) with a digital AC voltmeter. The voltage should be
approximately 120VAC.
7.4On the A side set all ciruit breakers to “o”. Check the AC output voltage as before. All
the load voltages should be zero.
7.5Turn the input AC source o. Repeat the same tests of Sections 7.2 through 7.4 on the B
side.
DPAC1UT-AB-I-2-590
OPERATING MANUAL
7.6 Turn the input AC source o and disconnect the input wires. The distribution panel may
now be connected to its intended application.
7.7 If the distribution panel did not operate properly in the above tests, go back and double
check the connections.
Please note that there are no user serviceable parts inside either the modules or the shelves
and that opening either will void the warranty.
