Uniphos KWIK DRAW ASP-11p Operation & Maintenance Manual

UNIPHOS™ ASP-11p Plastic Air Sampling Pump
Operation & Maintenance
1. Introduction
The ASP-11p Air Sampling Pump is designed for use with any brand of gas
detection tubes, thanks to the different adapters that are included. The
UNIPHOS™ ASP-11p Air Sampling Pump allows accurate measurements of
gases with a guaranteed 50cc or 100cc air sample.
Insert the gas detection tube into the tube adapter and twist the tube
while pushing in, to ensure a good seal. You are now ready to make your
measurement. Draw the handle gradually until it reaches the 100, and the
plunger is not drawing back itself, so the vacuum is out of the pump. After
reaching the 100, you are sure you drew a 100cc pump stroke of air
through your detection tube, and you can now read it, or do another
stroke as the manual describes. When you want to do a second pump
stroke, you first have to take out the tube of the pump, then draw the
plunger back, and put back in the tube. You are not ready to make
another pump stroke.
3. Maintenance
To keep making pump strokes go smoothly, regularly grease the inside of
the pump with silicone grease. If you feel making a pump stroke is going
rough, you can decide to grease the inside of the pump by pulling out the
handle first. You can take some silicone grease with your finger or a
brush, and securely grease the inside of the pump. Put the handle back
and make a few pump strokes without inserting a tube, so the grease will
be spread all over the inside of the pump.

4. Leak test
Insert a sealed tube into the tube holder tightly. Pull the handle firmly
until it reaches 100 on the scale. Hold it like that for 30 seconds, and then
gradually let the handle draw back. If the handle is fully drawn back, you
are sure there has been a vacuum inside the pump all the time, that the
pump is not leak, and you will be able to use the pump as described. If a
leak is discovered, we recommend to use a new pump or send it back for
repair.
