IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using your equipment, always follow basic safety
precautions to reduce the risk of re, electric shock and
injury to persons, including the following:
This unit is NOT WATERPROOF. Never submerge the
devices in water or rinse them in running water.
Always position the device and power cord out of
the reach of children. The power cord could result in strangulation or cause injury to children.
Keep small parts out of the reach of children (risk of
swallowing).
Keep packaging material away from children (risk of
suffocation).
Never place the baby unit in the cot or within the reach of
your child.
Make sure that cables are out of the reach of your child
(risk of electric shock).
Always make sure that the devices are fully functioning
before use, and that the batteries are sufciently charged
when in battery mode.
Only use the AC adaptors included with the unit.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS!
Do not use the cable to pull the AC adaptor plug out of
the socket.
Disconnect the AC adaptor plug from the mains when the
device is not in use.
The device and the AC adaptor should not come into
contact with hot surfaces or sharp objects.
Do not use any additional parts that are not
recommended by the manufacturer or offered as equipment.
After use, before cleaning and changing any accessory
parts, the AC adaptor should always be disconnected.
Batteries can contain toxins that are harmful to health
and the environment. Always dispose of batteries in accordance with applicable legal regulations. Do not dispose of batteries with normal household waste.

GETTING STARTED

Power LED - Lights up to indicate the unit has been powered on.

Microphone - Receives sounds for the area near the Baby Unit, and transmits the sound to the Parent Unit.

INSTALLATION
The Baby Unit powers on with the AC adaptor.
1. Insert the AC adaptor power plug into the Baby Unit’s DC socket (at the back of the unit).
2. Connect the other end into a 240 volt AC (standard indoor) power outlet.
Once the Baby Unit is connected to power, it automatically turns on and the Power LED glows green.
To power off the unit, press and hold the Power button. To power on the unit again, press and hold the Power button.

Parent Unit
The Parent Unit is designed in such a way that it can be
operated only with batteries inserted.
The battery must be charged for at least 16 hours
before the unit can be rst used independently of the AC
adaptor. You may use the unit during this time.
To switch on the Parent Unit again, press and hold the Power button. The Power LED of the Parent Unit will light up green to indicate that the device is active.
If the Parent Unit battery is low, the unit will beep twice. If the device is not connected to a socket, it will switch off automatically after a short period.
The Power LED will turn off.
Operation
Connect the AC adaptor on the Parent Unit (with batteries included) to a socket. The device automatically switches on, and the Power LED will light up green.
If the AC adaptor is unplugged, the unit will switch to battery operation. The standby time will depend on the battery charge status.
To switch the unit off, press and hold the Power button, and the Power LED will turn off.
Points to note when installing the Parent Unit:

Problems Possible Solutions
Power LED does not light up after switch­on.
Check to ensure that:
• the AC adaptor is properly
plugged in.
• the batteries are full. Check if
the rechargeable battery needs charging or is damaged (Parent Unit).
An acoustic signal sounds from the parent unit.
Check to ensure if:
• the maximum range has been
exceeded
• the AC adaptor for the baby unit
is properly connected
• the Baby Unit is switched on
• the batteries are full. Check if
the rechargeable battery needs charging or is damaged (Parent Unit).
No acoustic signal sounds from the parent unit.
Adjust the volume on the Parent Unit.
The device switches off automatically.
Replace the batteries or recharge the battery (Parent Unit).

The signal is weak, the connection keeps breaking up or there is interference.
• If another technical device such
as a microwave is in the area between the Parent and Baby Units, remove the device or switch it off.
• Check whether other factors
(such as trees etc) are in the path of the two devices, and change the position of the devices until the Parent Unit signals a connection.
• Check whether both the units are
inside their respective receiving ranges.

Terms of Warranty: Uniden Aust warrants to the original retail purchaser only that the BW120 (“the Product”), will be free from defects in materials and craftsmanship for the duration of the warranty period, subject to the limitations and exclusions set out below.
Warranty period: This warranty to the original retail purchaser is only valid
in the original country of purchase for a Product rst purchased either in
Australia or New Zealand and will expire one (1) year from the date of the original retail sale.
If a warranty claim is made, this warranty will not apply if the Product is found by Uniden to be:
(A) Damaged or not maintained in a reasonable manner or as recommended in the relevant Uniden Owner’s Manual;
(B) Modied, altered or used as part of any conversion kits, subassemblies or any congurations not sold by Uniden Aust;
(C) Improperly installed contrary to instructions contained in the relevant Owner’s Manual (D) Repaired by someone other than an authorized Uniden Repair Agent in relation to a defect or malfunction covered by this warranty; or (E) Used in conjunction with any equipment, parts or a system not manufactured by Uniden.
Parts Covered: This warranty covers the Product and included accessories.
User-generated Data: This warranty does not cover any claimed loss of
or damage to user-generated data (including but without limitation phone numbers, addresses and images) that may be stored on your Product.

Statement of Remedy: If the Product is found not to conform to this warranty as stated above, the Warrantor, at its discretion, will either repair the defect or replace the Product without any charge for parts or service. This warranty does not include any reimbursement or payment of any consequential damages claimed to arise from a Product’s failure to comply with the warranty.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
This warranty is in addition to and sits alongside your rights under either the COMPETITION AND CONSUMER ACT 2010 (Australia) or the CONSUMER GUARANTEES ACT (New Zealand) as the case may be, none of which can be excluded.
Procedure for obtaining warranty service: Depending on the country in
which the Product was rst purchased, if you believe that your Product does
not conform with this warranty, you should deliver the Product, together with satisfactory evidence of your original purchase (such as a legible copy of the sales docket) to Uniden. Please refer to the Uniden website for address
details.
You should contact Uniden regarding any compensation that may
be payable for your expenses incurred in making a warranty claim. Prior to delivery, we recommend that you make a backup copy of any phone numbers, images or other data stored on your Product, in case it is lost or damaged during warranty service.
