Setting the machine up
PLEASE NOTE: It is advised that an air, dirt and water trap filter is fitted (786
as shown on the front page). This will protect the valves and cylinder from dirt
and water contamination.
It is possible to obtain 100/150 gun washes from a 25 litre drum of solvent but this is dependent
upon how much paint material is left in your spray gun pot. We recommend regular changing of the
solvent to ensure absolute cleanliness of your spray gun.
Position machine in a well ventilated area. The extraction outlet will accept 3” (75mm) hose and
1
should be connected to an existing system or taken to the external part of a building and vented via
the atmosphere. Hose and a range of adaptors are available direct from Unic International.
3
Connect the machine to the air supply. All air connections are located on the right hand side of the
machine when viewed from the front.
4
Connect earth wire on rear of machine to suitable earthing point.
Air Supply Pressure: 40 to 90 PSI. 2.75-6.9 bar, 3-kg / cm2.
Thread size: 1/4” BSP
MAINTENANCE CHECK:
Suction Filter:
It is recommended that the Suction Filter be cleared thoroughly every time the cleaning
fluid is replaced.
Please note: If the Suction Filter is damaged or removed, the Pump Warranty is void.
Lubrication:
The air valve is lubricated at the factory and designed to operate without additional
lubrication. If added lubrication is desired, every 500 hours of operation (or monthly)
Remove the hose from the pump air inlet and add two drops of machine oil to the air
inlet.
The Unic range of Gun Cleaning Machines are Category 2 equipment that is suitable for
Apparatus Groups (Gas groups) IIA, IIB and IIC, with a temperature class of T6.

Operating Manual.
Do not tamper with the safety lid switch, which prevents the unit operating in the
cleaning mode when the lid is open.
Close drain valve and close lid when the unit is not in use. All solvent should be
drained from the cleaning tank before closing the drain valve.
Inspect solvent storage compartment daily to ensure there is no leaks from the
solvent containers.
Replace solvent filter pad frequently (bimonthly replacement of the filter pad is
recommended)
Always disconnect the air source before performing maintenance tasks.

acetone, methanol, white spirit, xylene and toluene. Air monitoring carried out
with a recommended cleaning thinner has shown that concentrations do not
exceed exposure limits published by the Health and Safety Executive. Levels
were less than 50% of the mixed short-term exposure limit when the lid was
open for removal of the spray gun, cups and hoses and just 6% of the limit
during the cleaning cycle. Substances in the solvent however can be absorbed
through the skin, see personal protection equipment.

(a) Be of satisfactory quality within the meaning of the Sale of Goods Act 1979; and
(b) Be reasonably fit for the purpose of cleaning spray guns;
1.2 guarantees the pump forming part of the Machine against all mechanical defects arising from faulty workmanship or
materials for five years from the date of purchase.
2Subject to the other Warranty Conditions if the Machine is used only in the United Kingdom and the Customer has on
purchase of the Machine entered into a 5 Year Service Agreement with the Company for the servicing of the Machine
then whilst that 5 Year Service Agreement remains in force the Company guarantees the Machine against all
mechanical defects arising from faulty workmanship or materials for five years from the date of purchase.
3The guarantees in Warranty Conditions 1 and 2 do not extend to consumable components such as filters, jets and

parts may from time to time require replacement.
4The Company shall not be liable for a breach of any of the warranties in Warranty Conditions 1 and 2 if:
(a) the Buyer does not notify the defect to the Company and if so requested by the Company complete and send to the
Company the Company’s defect report form, and, if the defect is a result of damage in transit to the Buyer, within One
day of the time when the Buyer discovers or ought to have discovered the defect; or
(b) the Company is not given a reasonable opportunity after receiving the notice to examining the Machine at the Buyer’s
premises (if in the United Kingdom) or the Buyer (if asked to do so by the Company) fails to return the Machine to the

(c) the Buyer uses the Machine after giving notice of a defect; or
(c) the Buyer has failed to follow the Company's oral or written instructions as to the storage, installation, commissioning,
use or maintenance of the Machine or (if there are none) good trade practice; or
(d) the Buyer alters or repairs the Machine (other than by replacing consumable items such as filters, jets and flow-
through brush or such units as are intended to be replaced by the user as specified in the manual) without the written
consent of the Company, or (f) any parts not supplied by the Company have been installed on the Machine, or
(g) the Buyer has not paid all sums due from the Buyer to the Company.
5The Company shall not be liable for a breach of the warranty in Warranty Condition 2 if the Buyer has not fully
complied with the provisions of the 5 Year Service Agreement

defective part). Any parts so replaced shall become the property of the Company and where a replacement unit is
sent to the Buyer to be fitted by the Buyer the Buyer shall at its own expense return the unit so replaced to the
Company. The Company may issue an invoice for any replacement units sent to the Buyer, which will be cancelled if
the unit replaced is returned to the Company and found by the Company to be defective.
7If the Company complies with Warranty Conditions 6 it shall have no further liability for a breach of any of the
warranties in Warranty Conditions 4 and 5 in respect of the Machine.
8Any repaired or replacement parts for the Machine shall be guaranteed on these Warranty Conditions for the
unexpired portion of the relevant period specified in Warranty Conditions 1 and 2.
9These Warranty Conditions are in addition to and do not replace any statutory rights that the Buyer may have under
