INTRODUCTION
Thank you for choosing UCTRONICS!
UCTRONICS Pinpointer Metal Detector is a highly
sensitive, hand-held instrument designed to pinpoint
metallic objects during treasure recovery, jewelry
hunting, relic hunting, gold prospecting and utility
applications.
It is intended for use in conjunction with a ground
search metal detector to aid in the recovery of
metallic targets. With a pinpointing tip plus a
scraping blade with side-scan capability, the detector
is very effective in detecting even small size metallic
objects.
COMPONENTS & FUNCTIONS
Power Switch – Press and release the power
button on while holding the detector away from
metallic objects. The white LED will illuminate and
one brief audio beep will occur, indicating the
detector is ready for use.
Audio and Vibrate Alerts – The speaker will
provide a clear audible sound and the detector
vibrator motor also activates when a metallic target
is detected.
Scraping Blade – Ideal for sifting through dirt
while searching for the target. Its 360︒-side-scan
metal detection allows the detector to alarm when
the blade is passed in close to a metallic target.
LED Light – A power-on indication and acting as
a flashlight when needed.
Audible Low Battery Alert – The detector will
sound an alternative dual-tone alarm when the
battery becomes low.
Battery Cover – Makes the battery
installation/replacement quick and easy. No other
tools are needed. Rotate the cover counterclockwise
to remove and clockwise to tighten by hand.
Holster – Helps secure the detector to any
standard size belt.
FEATURES
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Basic Recovery Method – Once you have located
a target with your ground search metal detector, dig
the recovery hole or remove the plug of the earth.
Then you could use UCTRONICS pinpoint metal
detector to locate your metallic target precisely.

Scan the earth plug or dirt pile to see if your
target has already been unearthed in the soil
you removed or turned over. If the pinpoint
metal detector does not indicate any targets,
you should scan the inside hole, pointing the tip
of the detector towards the side walls of the
hole. As the tip is closer to the target, the
detector’s vibrations and audible beeps will
steadily increase.
If there is no signal shows from the inside hole
or the soil/plug removed, the target is likely
deeper in the ground or inside the plug –
beyond pinpointing range. In this case, you can
scan the ground with your ground search
detector to confirm where the object is.
Pinpointing Large Objects – Firstly, scan towards
the object slowly until the response increases to the
full/constant alarm. Secondly, switch the power off
and back on again in order to cancel out the target
and narrow the detection filed. Thirdly, continue to
scan towards the object to find its precise location.
Repeat the power off/on cycle to further narrow the
detection field as needed.
After the steps above, you can return the
detector to its normal detection field by simply
switching the power off and back on while
holding it away from all metal.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
The detector’s battery condition is monitored
automatically. When the battery is becoming low, the
detector will sound an alternative dual-tone alarm.
Unscrew the battery cover and tilt the detector so
that the battery could slide out, then replace with a
new 9V battery and hand-tighten the battery cover.
Side-Scan Recovery – Hold the detector on its
side, flat against the ground and quickly scan back
and forth. In addition, you can use the scraping
blade to rake, scrape or flatten the soil while sidescanning.
The battery compartment is keyed to only accept
battery contact in the proper position. If a 9V battery
is improperly installed, no circuitry damage will
occur.
It is important to observe the polarity of the battery
and battery compartment before battery installation,
never force the cover to close.
NOTE
Do not affix metallic labels (or any material that
might cause the detector to alarm) to the detection
area of the detector. For this may cause an
imbalance within the detection field and therefore
reduce scanning effectiveness.
Wall Searches – The detector’s static mode
makes it an excellent utility locator to find metal
studs and pipes or nails in walls.
