FCC Statement
This equipmenthas been tested and foundtocomply with the limits for a Class B digital device,pursuantt o Part15of the FCC rules. These limits are designed toprovide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates,uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance withtheinstructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipmentdoes cause harmful interference to radio or television reception,which can be determined by turning the equipmentoff and on,the user is encouragedtotry to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
- Reorientorrelocate the receiving antenna.
- Increaset he separation between tween the equipment and the receiver.
- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
- Consult the dealeror an experiencedradio/TVtechnician for help.
Changes and modificationsnot expressly approved by the manufacturer or registrant of this equipmentcan void your authority to operate this equipmentunder Federal Communications Commission rules.
FCC Part 68 Compliance
1. This equipment complies with Part 68 of the FCC rules. This unit bearsa label whichcontains the FCC registration number ringer equivalence number (REN). If requested, this infor­mation must be provided to the telephonecompany.
2. This equipment used the fol­lowing standard jack types for network connection: RJ11.
3. This equipment contains an FCC compliantmodular jack. It isdesignedto beconnectedto the telephonenetwork or premises wiring using compatiblemodular plugs andcabling which comply with the requirements of FCC Part 68 rules.
4. TheR inger EquivalenceNum­ber, or REN,is used to determine the number of devices which may be connected tothetele­phone line.Anexcessive REN may cause theequipmentto not ringin response to an incoming call.In mostareas, thesumofthe RENs of all equipment on a line should notexceed five (5.0).
5. In the unlikely event that this equipmentcauses harm to the telephonenetwork,the telephone company cantemporarily dis­connect your service. The tele­phone companywill try to warn you in advanceofany such dis­connection, but if advance notice isn’t practical, it maydisconnect theservice firstand notify youas soon as possible afterwards. In the eventsuch adisconnectionis deemed necessary, you will be advisedofyour right to file a
complaint with the FCC.
6. From time to time, the tele­phone company may make changes in its facilities, equip­ment, or operations which could affect the operation of this equip­ment. If this occurs, the tele­phone company is requiredto provide you with advance notice so you can make the modifica­tions necessary to maintain unin­terrupted service.

INDUSTRY CANADA ES-003 Compliance
NOTICE: The industry Canada label identifies certified equip­ment. This certification means that the equipmentmeets tele­communications network protec­tive, operation and safety requirements as prescribedin the appropriate TerminalEquipment TechnicalR equirements docu­ment(s). TheDepartment does notguarantee theequipmentwill operateto the user’ssatisfaction. Before installing this equipment, users shouldensure that it is per­missibleto be connected to the facilities of the local telecommu­nications company. The equip­ment mustalso beinstalled using an acceptable method of connec­tion.Thecustomer should be aware thatcompliance withthe above conditions may notpre­vent degradation of service in some situations.
Repairs to certified equipment shouldnot be coordinated by a representative designated by the supplier. Any repairs or alter­ations madeby the user to this equipment, or equipment mal­functions, may give the telecom­municationscompany cause to requestthe user todisconnectthe equipment.
Users should ensure for their own protection that the electrical groundconnectionsof thepower utility, telephone lines and
internal metallic water pipe sys­tem, if present, are connected to­gether. This pre-caution may be particularly important in rural ar­eas.
CAUTION: Users should not at­tempt to make such connections themselves, but should contact the appropriate electric inspec­tion authority, or electrician, as appropriate.
NOTICE: The Ringer Equiva­lence Number (REN)assigned to each terminaldevice providesan indicationof the maximum num­berofterminalsallowedtobe connected to a telephone inter­face. Thetermination onan inter­face may consist of any combinationofdevices subject only to the requirement that the sum of the Ringer Equivalence Numbers of all the devicesdoes not exceed 5.
Safety Information
Be sure to observe standard safe­ty procedureswheninstallingthe Home Area Network Server.
Electrical Shock Hazard
To avoid electrical shock:
1. When installing the server, be careful to avoid any contactwith power cablesand conduits that supply electrical power to the building.
2.Do notremove thecover onthe Home Area NetworkS erver un­less you are a qualified service technician.Useonly UL ap­proved power and extension cords and connectthem only to properly grounded (3-hole)wall outlets.
