3 Description

NINA-W151-02B and NINA-W152-02B have reached Initial Production status. These products
are pre-flashed with u-connectXpress software version 3.0.0 and include new functionalities
and corrections associated with previous releases. Details about the software can be found in
the release note [4].

The hardware of each module has been updated with a new version of the ESP32 radio chip from
Espressif (part number ESP32‑D0WDQ6‑V3). The main difference between this later ESP32
version and the older chip version used in the NINA-W151-00B and NINA-W152-00B is a
correction in the secure bootloader ROM code. This correction resolves an issue that was
previously reported in the vulnerability reports CVE‑2019‑15894 and CVE‑2019‑17391.

4 Schedule

First production parts are available for shipment now.

5 Customer impact and recommended action

For increased module security, customers are advised to migrate to the new NINA-W151-02B
and NINA-W152-02B versions. Previous module versions, NINA-W151-00B and
NINA-W152-00B, can still be ordered by customers who want to use them.

For customers who want to verify the functionality of the u-connectXpress 3.0.0 software in
their specific applications and use cases, the software is now available for download from

The regulatory certifications for NINA-W15x-00B are also applicable to NINA-W15x-02B –
without any further action required by the customer.
