PG9862/PG8862/PG4862 Overview

The PGx862 is a smar t wirele ss ceiling PIR pr ese nce /security detector (selecte d mode) that cre ate s a 360° c over age a re a to detec t the movement of intruders in indoor a reas. The detector has the following fe atures.
(power-up).
l Built-in link qua lity indicators eliminate the need for the installer to
physically approac h the control panel and reduce installation time.
l The device supports te mper ature and light level re ports to c om-
patible alarm systems that suppor t temperature a nd light sensors.
l Tamper protection. l PowerG two-wa y Fre quency Hopping Sprea d Spectrum FHSS-
TDMA technology.
l The Advanced True Motion Recognition™ algorithm (pa tented)dis-
tinguishes between the true motion of an intruder and any other disturbances which ma y c ause false alarms.
NOTE: For UL insta llations, the detector is for use with UL listed control units only.

Walk testing
Befor e permanently mounting a ny wir eless device , tempor arily mount the device and perf orm a walk te st. Perform a walk test of the coverage are a a t le ast once a ye ar to e nsure that the detector is working correctly. Afte r inse rting the ba ttery or c losing the device, the detec tor will automatica lly enter a stability pe riod whe re the LED flashes RED f or 90 sec onds. Walk test the cove ra ge ar ea , the LED lights red eac h time your motion is detected followed by 3 LED blinks. The color of the 3 LED blinks indicate the received signal stre ngth. In walk-test mode, regardless of the LED Selec tion status, the LED lights upon e ver y motion dete ction. Afte r 15 minutes the detec tor automa tically enter s normal mode. The following table indicate s the received signal strength.
LED Re sponse Signal Strength
Green LED blinks STRONG
Orange LED blinks GO OD
Red LED blinks POO R
No blinks No communication
IMPORTANT! Only GOOD or STRONG signa l stre ngths are ac ce ptable . If you r ec eive a POOR signal from the devic e, re -loca te it a nd re-test until a GOOD or STRONG signa l is re ce ived.
NOTE: For UL/ULC installations, only STRON G signal leve ls are ac ceptable. After installation verif y the product func tionality in conjunction with the c ompatible control pa nels HSM2HOST9, HS2LCDRF (P)9, HS2ICNRF(P)9, PG9920, WS900-19, and WS900-29.
NOTE: For de tailed Plac ement instructions ref er to the control pane l refer enc e manua l.
Wa lk-test the coverage are a by walking across the f ar end of the coverage patter n in both directions. The red LED lights ea ch time your motion is dete cte d followed by a steady LED signal strength indica tion.
Mounting t he device
1. Mark and drill two holes in the mounting surface. If you install tamper protection on the detec tor, mark a nd drill one hole for the tamper protection a nd one hole f or one of the othe r a vaila ble slots.
2. Fasten the bracke t to the mounting surfac e with the two screw s.
3. Align the bra cke t tabs with the de tec tor slots and rotate the dete ctor clockwise. Verif y that it is securely attached.
