Do’s and Don’ts
Do check lens to ensure that
it is clean. Dirt on the lens will
result in inaccurate readings.
Do check that your
Genius thermometer is in the
correct mode.
Do ensure that a new probe
cover is used for each
temperature reading. This is
vital to ensure accuracy,
correct calibration and
maintenance of your GENIUS
thermometer.
Do ensure probe is positioned
correctly in the ear canal (for
children, ensure outer
opening to ear canal is
sealed).
Do wait for the 3 bleeps
before removing probe
from ear canal.
Don’t use your GENIUS
thermometer if there is any
dirt on the lens. Refer to
cleaning instructions.
Don’t attempt to take a
patient’s temperature whilst
the GENIUS thermometer is
in surface mode. This will give
a low reading.
Don’t re-use probe covers on
the same patient. This will
lead to inaccurate readings
and could cause infections.
Don’t attempt to take a
temperature unless you are
sure a proper seal of the ear
canal is achieved. Incorrect
positioning will lead to low
readings.
Don’t remove probe from ear
prematurely. This will lead to
inaccurate readings.
Remember – A new probe cover must be
used for each temperature reading
