GAS CONVERSION KIT FROM NG TO LP (PROPANE), P/N CKLP-TEBQ
FOR MODELS: TWIN EAGLES GRILLS, TEBQ/TPBQ
1. All gas connections/conversions should be made by a qualified technician and in accordance with
local codes and ordinances.
2. Before conducting a conversion to a gas appliance, verify that the main gas is shut off and
disconnected from the appliance.
3. Ensure that you have the LP Gas Conversion Kit , as follows:
a. P/N 15110-53, Orifice #53, LP, Grill Burner (3 pcs.)
b. P/N 15108-57, Orifice #57, Rotis/ Small IR, for TEBQ-30/TPBQ-30, LP (1 pc.)
c. P/N 15108-56, Orifice #56, Rotis/ Large IR, for TEBQ-42/TPBQ-42, LP (1 pc.)
d. P/N 15302, LP Regulator with 24” Hose (1 pc.)
e. P/N 12602, Coupling, 3/8M flare X ½ FIP (1pc.)
f. P/N 18351, Label, Conversion Gas (1pc.)
4. Replace burner valve orifices.
a. Grill Burner:
i. Remove cooking grates
ii. Remove briquette trays
iii. Remove grill burners
iv. Remove grill burner orifices, #41 drill size
v. Replace grill burner orifices with #53 drill size
vi. Install back the burners, briquette trays & cooking grates. WARNING! IT IS
CRITICAL THAT THE GAS BURNERS ARE PROPERLY
INSTALLED WITH THEIR ORIFICES INSIDE THE BURNERS AIR
SHUTTERS. If not properly installed, gas may leak outside of the burner
that could lead to fire, potential damage to your grill and bodily injury
b. Infrared Rotisserie Burner
i. Remove rear hood cover to expose infrared burner gas orifice
ii. Remove rotis burner orifice, as follows:
1. # 50 from the 30” grill, TEBQ-30/TPBQ-30
2. # 48 from the 42” grill, TEBQ-42/TPBQ-42
iii. Replace rotis burner orifice with:
1. Orifice # 57 for 30” grill, TEBQ-30/TPBQ-30
2. Orifice # 56 for 42” grill, TEBQ-42/TPBQ-42
iv. Replace rear hood cover.
5. Replace the NG regulator with the factory supplied LP regulator.
a. Disconnect regulator from grill
b. Install the brass coupling ½ female pipe x 3/8 ma le flare
c. Install the factory-supplied regulator and hose assembly. Connect the 3/8” flare end of the
hose to the grill coupling using a ¾” open wrench. Do not apply pipe sealant to the

/8”
flare connection. Connect the regulator to the LP cylinder hand tighten it, do not use a
wrench.
d. Check for gas leaks using soapy water solution.
6. NEVER USE THE GRILL WITHOUT FIRST LEAK TESTING THE GAS CONNECTION.
a. Prepare a leak testing solution of sudsy water by mixing in a spray bottle with half liquid
soap and half water.
b. Confirm that all control knobs are in the “OFF” position.
c. Turn the main gas valve supply “ON”.
d. Apply leak testing solution by spraying on the pipe joints, fittings, and hose.
e. A gas leak is detected if;
i. there is a faint gas smell and/or
ii. growing bubbles appear on any of the connection points and/or hose. DO
NOT attempt to ignite the grill and IMMEDIATELY turn off the gas supply
valve.
f. When there is a gas leak, call a qualified service technician. DO NOT use the grill until the
leak is corrected.
7. Calibrate burner low flame setting
a. The grill must be hooked up to the gas supply in order to calibrate burner.
b. Turn on burner and set to low. At low setting, all ports of the burner must remain lit. If
the flames are too high or too low, calibrate burner valve.
c. To calibrate burner valve, pull off valve knob. Insert a skinny flat screwdriver into the
valve stem
d. Turn the adjusting screw inside the stem clockwise to decrease flame or counter
clockwise to increase flame.
e. Perform leak test on the valve stem using the soapy water solution.
8. The conversion is complete. Fill up the Conversion Label. Next, paste it next to the original Serial
Plate.
9. The unit is ready for installation. Please refer back to the User’s Manual to insure safety, proper care
and operation.
