CAUTIONS/WARNINGS:
1. Keep out of reach of children at all times.
2. Blades are very sharp, caution needs to be taken when handling Cabbage Shredder.
3. When cabbage or other soft vegetable is getting close to blades, use Food Pusher accessory to finish last few shreds. DO NOT USE FINGERS.
4. Shredders are composed of stainless steel which will scratch most kitchen surfaces, use carefully.
5. Use of Cabbage Shredder for attempting to slice pitted fruits, vegetables or other hard foods will void product warranty.
6. This product should be carefully washed prior to and after each use following method outlined in CLEANING AND STORAGE section.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Clean shredder and accessories properly using method outlined in CLEANING AND STORAGE section.
2. Insert Holder by matching Holder’s slots on side with Shredder’s lip (frame). Set Shredder aside.
3. Peel away any soft, dark or dirty leaves of the cabbage head. Run under cold water and rinse of any debris.
4. Cut ¼” to ½” slice of exposed portion of core with sharp knife and discard. Entire core may be removed by first halving cabbage then cutting out core, or using a Corer (#31205).
5. Depending on size of Holder and cabbage head or soft vegetable being sliced, the food product may have to be halved or quartered to fit comfortably into Holder.
6. Shredder should rest on an angle or atop a food grade container for shreds to drop into.
7. Press down and push cabbage head across Blades, then pull it back and repeat.
8. Once cabbage head or vegetable being sliced is approximately 1/2 height of Holder, begin use of Food Pusher to finish.
9. Keep Shredder above a clean, food grade container to catch the shredded product.
10. Cabbage may be sliced whole or you may also cut the heads in half to make them more manageable in the holder.

BLADE ADJUSTMENT: (for #31113 & #31114 Fiesta Cabbage Shredder ONLY)
To reduce or widen the spacing of the blades for making thinner or thicker cuts, you will only adjust the bolts and screws underneath the blades. First, one blade at time, loosen the bolt that holds the screw in place. Loosen the bolt in ¼ or ½ turn increments, then tighten or loosen each screw to move the blade to the desired spacing in ¼ or ½ turn increments. Follow this procedure to maintain like spacing of each blade, and then tighten the bolt to secure the screw in place. WARNING: Be careful not to over tighten. If just the screws are tightened without first loosening the bolts, the screws will become over-tightened and the blades can break.
