Purpose
The recorders of the Edic-Mini CARD (16) series are professional devices intended for making high quality record of voice messages onto microSD flash card with the capacity from 2GB to 32 GB. Recorders of the Edic-Mini series feature really unique characteristics, among which the tiniest size, maximum autonomy, and high acoustic sensitivity. The recorders have proved themselves as personal means of recording audio information. The recorders are meant for domestic use by a mass consumer. Audio files are recorded in standard WAV format using FAT32 file system, enabling the user to playback the recordings on almost any PC, tablet or mobile phone by a standard media player. To process records and to facilitate the conversion of records to text, there is the SoundProcessor program operating under WIndows XP (SP2, SP3), Vista, Windows 7, 8. This program is on the supplied flash card and is also available for downl oad fr om our we bsi te: www.ts-market.com.

*take into account that the parameter of autonomy is specified for Record Mode 8KHz/8 bit, in case of higher sampling rate or capacity, autonomy value is lower (for 16 KHz/16 bit approximately by two times for the recorders with rechargeable batteries and by four times for the recorders with batteries). Autonomy value considerably depends on battery capacity, its recency, as well as on the model of microSD in use.
• Battery life for a f lash car d with the c apacit y of 8 GB: in the m ode 8 KHz /8 bit - 272 hours, 8 KHz/16 bit and 16 KHz/8 bit - 136 hours, 16 KHz/1 6 bit - 68 ho urs . For flash cards w ith alternative capacit y values, battery li fe is measured in direct ratio to battery capacity.
• Allowa ble operation-and-storage temperature: 0…+50° C
• Operating lifetime: 3 years

Operating the Recorder
For recorders with batteries, install the battery into the corresponding compartment. When installing, always observe polarity (see marking on the Recorder’s case). Inappropriate installing of battery may lead to failure of the Recorder system, which is not covered by the Warranty. Do not store the Recorder for a long time with a battery inserted, as the battery may leak and lead to Recorder failure, and that is not covered by the Warranty.
For recorders with rechargeable battery, first charge the battery. To do this, gently and without strain follow the correct polarity, insert the flat side of the supplied cable into the connector of the flash card, and the other side to the USB port of the PC or a charger, e.g. of a mobile phone, with output voltage 5V and a USB connector. It should be considered that a charging cable does not have a rigid fixation in the flash card connector, that’s why both cable and the Recorder should be placed in the way to

maintain contact while charging. During charging red LED is on, after charging has been completed, green LED is on. Full charging takes approximately 3-4 hours. To retrieve charging cable, press on the cable and retrieve it.
Please note! In order to avoid deep discharge and related damage of the rechargeable battery, the Recorder must be charged at least once a month. The failure of the battery due to its deep discharge is a violation of the rules of operation.
MicroSD Card Preparing
MicroSD card which is in the delivery set, doesn’t require any preliminary preparation. It is formatted in FAT32 and there is also a configuration file CONFIG.INI containing Recorder’s settings; text file EVENTS.TXT containing information about using the Recorder; detailed instruction to operate the Recorder, and SoundProcessor program. Procedure of other microSD card preparation, as well as Recorder’s settings is descr ibed in Full Oper ation Manual.
Recommended! Transfer information on your flash card to your PC!
Starting the record
To start recording, set the Switch to On position. Green LED flashes, and the Recorder starts recording. During recording, green LED is flashing by two series of flashes, indicating:

Red LED flashing when enabling recording states for one of the following contingency situations: 3 flashes - battery or rechargeable battery is discharged, 3 series of 3 flashes indicate flash card failure (full, cannot be read or not available). To stop recording, shift the Swi tch to Off position. Green LED fl ashes and recording stops.
Record Playback
By pressing on the flash card, remove it from the Recorder. Insert flash card into the supplied reader, then connect Reader with the card to the USB port of the PC. Flash card should be recognized as a separate disk with recorded WAV files of audio recording, which can be played back by any media player. To avoid failure of audio files, it is prohibited to remove flash card while any of the LEDs is on.
Reset
In case of a contingency situation with Recorder’s rechargeable battery, use any pointed object (match, toothpick etc.) to press the Reset button. Green LED flashes once. For the recorders with batteries - remove the battery and insert it back after a while.
Detailed information about capabilities of recorders is available in Full operation manual on recorder’s microSD card, as well as on our website: www.ts-market.com
