General Instructions
Important Safety Instructions:
WARNING: Please read all
instructions carefully. Failure to fully
read instructions and follow them could
result in severe injury or death.
1. Gas connectors and accessories must
be installed in strict accordance with
the National Fuel Gas Code (ANSI
Z223.1 or latest edition) and applicable
state or local gas installation codes.
These T&S connectors comply with the
standard for connector for Movable Gas
Appliances, ANSI Z21.69•CSA 6.16.
WARNING: Per the ANSI Z21.69 • CSA
6.16 Standard, Gas Connectors cannot
be reused when an appliance is being
replaced or moved to a new location.
2. As with any other gas transmission
line or device, it is recommended that
installation and testing be done by
qualifi ed personnel.
3. An approved accessible manual gas
shut-off valve must be installed at the
outlet of the gas supply piping system
upstream of the connector. Each piece
of equipment must have its own shut-off
valve. The Quick Disconnect coupling
is not to be used as the primary shut-off
for all types of moveable gas appliances.
(ANSI Z233.1 and ANSI Z21.69).
4. The T&S Safe-T-Link Restraining Device, Model AG-RC, is the
recommended restraining device
for castered appliances. Installation
Instructions for the restraining device
are included with Model AG-RC. This
restrainer should be inspected as part
of regular maintenance and safety
procedures. Restraining cable must be
connected at all times when appliance is
in use.
5. With these Gas Connection, AVOID:
* Flexing, excessive bending and vibration.
* Movement after installation on fi xed
appliances.
* Movement on moveable appliances
(those with factory equipped casters)
except for repair or cleaning.
6. Final assembly must be tested for
leaks.
CAUTION: Matches, candles, open
fl ame or other sources of ignition shall
not be used for this purpose. Leak test
solutions may cause corrosion - rinse
with water after test.
To check gas supply piping system for
leakage see National Fuel Code ANSI
Z233.1/NFPA 54 or CAN/CGA-B149.1
Natural Gas and Propane Inst. Code.
Before Installation:
Safe Safe-T-Link Gas Connectors
with SwiveLink Fittings
The gas outlet must be in the same room
as the gas-fi red equipment and the con-
nector must not be concealed within or
run through any wall, fl oor or partition.
All parts of the union supplied with the
connector must be used, and no attempt
shall be made to assembly union nuts
directly to pipe threads.
The connector must not be kinked,
twisted or torqued.
Connectors are for use only on piping
systems having fuel gas pressures not in
excess of 1/2psi (3.5kPa).

General Instructions
For movable appliance installation (e.g.
appliances factory-equipped with casters),
fl exing and bending should be limited
to the needs of pulling and pushing
the appliance in and out for cleaning,
maintenance or installation.
Contact with foreign objects or substances
must be avoided.
Choose one of the following three setup
appropriate to your installation of a T&S
Safe-T-Link Gas Hose Connector with
SwiveLink fi ttings:
Installation:
Safe Safe-T-Link Gas Connectors
with SwiveLink Fittings
General
1. Shut the manual gas shut-off valve on
gas manifold line to “OFF”. If there is
no gas shut-off valve, main gas supply
line valve should be turned off. Do not
proceed unless gas is turned off.
2. Carefully read these entire
installation instructions.
3. Location of the two connection points
for gas appliance connectors (the gas
supply line and the equipment stubout) can vary greatly. For installations
which result in a sharp bend, a T&S
SwiveLink Gas Connector is ideal.
4. To be able to position gas appliance
as close to the wall as possible, the two
ends of the SwiveLink Gas Connector
should be offset from each other.

5. Each piece of equipment must have
its own approved manual shut-off valve
off the main gas supply line.
Gas Supply Side
1. If pipe tee is already male, apply
Tefl on tape or pipe joint compound on
pipe threads at gas supply line.

General Instructions
2. If pipe tee is female, fi rst apply Tefl on tape or pipe joint compound to threads of pipe
nipple (not supplied), and thread pipe nipple into female pipe tee. Then thread (gas) no.7
valve onto pipe nipple and tighten.
3. For “Vertical” or “Combination” loop
installations, attach no.5 (male/female elbow)
as shown to no.7 valve with Tefl on tape or
pipe joint compound.
4. Apply Tefl on tape or pipe joint compound
to male threads of no.4. Thread no.4 into no.7
valve or no.5 and tighten.
Appliance Side without Quick Disconnect
1. For chosen loop installation, attach
no.6 (female/female elbow) to the male
appliance stub-out with Tefl on tape or
pipe joint compound.
2. Thread male end of no.4 into no.6
(female elbow) at appliance and tighten.
Appliance Side with Quick Disconnect
1. For chosen loop installation, attach no.5 (female/female elbow) to the male appliance
stub-out with Tefl on tape or pipe joint compound.
2. Separate no.8 coupling. No.9 nipple (male) half will remain attached to no.4fi tting.
No.10 coupling (female) half will remain attached to no.1.
3.Apply Tefl on Tape or pipe joint compound to threads of no.4fi tting. Thread male end of
no.4 into female elbow at appliance and tighten.
4. Reconnect no.8 coupling to nipple.
Finishing
1. Check tightness of all connections and perform leak test.
2. After installation of no.8 Connector, carefully push appliance back to operating
position and check that no.1 is not kinked, overbent, or caught under appliance casters.
Set length of no.11 so no.1 is never fully extended.
3. Affi x Orange label “Installation Instruction for Heavy-Duty Gas Connector” to back
of appliance after installation. Affi x Yellow label to wall near no.7 or equivalent valve.
