What’s In The Box
You are now the proud owner of a powerful Petrol Grass
Strimmer Brush Cutter. With its 2-stroke engine it makes light work of even the toughest of tasks. The strimmer is not only extremely versatile, but very easy to operate and maintain. With its twin line and 3 toothed cutting blade, the Trueshopping Petrol Strimmer is ideal for professional clean-up jobs, including
clearing out tough weeds and bushes over a large surface area.
In addition, the Trueshopping Petrol Brush cutter has a very high power to weight ratio and easily starts in all weathers. It also
boasts maximum efficiency, high torque and rapid acceleration.
The machine features an ergonomic harness, which spreads the load, improving comfort and efficiency for the user, and a bikestyle handlebar that is angled relative to the shaft, to prevent an uneven load being placed on the user's back. Please see our addons for this strimmer as you may want to add some useful

Fuelling
Fuelling. Always switch the engine off before
filling up. Do not smoke whilst fuelling.
The use of unleaded petrol is recommended for environment protection reasons. Only use two-
stroke engine oil for air-cooled engines.
Ratio of mixture 25:1
Open the tank cap carefully so that any overpressure may be let
out and the fuel does not splash out.
High temperatures build up on the machine body when working with the machine, therefore, leave the machine to cool down before filling up the fuel, otherwise, the fuel could ignite
spontaneously and create a risk of burns.
Do not store or transport the fuel in the mixing container.
When replenishing the fuel, be careful not to overfill the tank. If the fuel drips off, it should be removed immediately and the machine cleaned. Safely dispose of any cloths that are used to wipe up fuel. Change and then wash any clothes that fuel drips
onto.
www.TrueShopping.co.uk
Page: 34 of 69
Trueshopping
After filling up, check screw closure for the firm fit to prevent loosening at work because of vibrations. Check that there is no leakage on the tank cap and fuel lines. If there are leaks this product should not be started. Never use a device with damaged ignition cable and spark plug connector as there is a risk of
sparks.

Starting The Brush Cutter/Strimmer
Once you have assembled and fuelled the strimmer you are able
to start it. To do this you:
1. Turn the choke ON.
2. Switch on the engine using the switch located on right
handle.
3. Pump the rubber engine primer bulb 6 - 8 times until clear
fuel is flowing.
4. Ensuring engine is on firm ground, keep the engine firmly
held down with knee and one hand. Now pull the start cord firmly.
5. Slowly feedback the starter handle to its original position.
6. Repeat above until engine has started.
7. Turn the choke OFF.
NOTE: Mastering the throttle is an art that is quickly learnt with use. The “idling adjustment screw”, may need raising/lowering to adjust the engine idling speed This is also something that is learnt
with usage.

Safety Precautions
Protecting You
All users must be at least 18 years of age.
Minors and those with infirmities should not
use the brush cutter/strimmer.
Wear appropriate protection. Wear safety shoes with steel toes or rough sole. Wear
appropriate clothes that is tight fitting.
Wear goggles and ear protectors to protect
your face, hearing and eyes. Wear hard gloves – gloves of leather give a good protection.
Vibrations from the machine make it difficult to hold for long periods. You may prolong the time of use by wearing suitable gloves and taking regular breaks. Remember that available time to use the power machine may get shorter
as a result of low outside temperature
or strong contact force with the machine while working.
Use the primer every time you start the
strimmer.
www.TrueShopping.co.uk
Page: 46 of 69
Trueshopping
Never work in closed or poorly ventilated areas.
After the engine is started, the machine will produce poisonous flue gas. The gas may be invisible and odourless. Contact with the
exhaust may cause burns.
Beware of poor working conditions. When working in wet, snow or icy weather conditions or on slopes or rough ground ensure that you are able to remain stable and upright at all times. Work in good lighting when operating
the Grass Strimmer/Brush Cutter. Do not
overestimate your abilities and always keep your balance when
working
Always be attentive. Watch what you are doing.
Use common sense. Do not use the Grass
Strimmer/Brush Cutter when tired or influenced by alcohol, drugs or medicaments that may
affect your concentration or capability. Never

Kickback. When working with metal blades, a kickback of the whole machine or a sudden pull forwards may occur if fixed objects (trees, branches, stones or the like) are hit. Such a kickback occurs abruptly without advance
warning and may result in loss of control of the
machine and hazards to the operator and bystanders. There is a
particular hazard in badly visible and overgrown areas.
To keep the control in case of kickback:
Firmly hold the machine with both hands when working.
Make sure that you have a safe stand. Keep your feet
conveniently spread and always be alert to a possible kickback.
Always turn the engine off prior to any
adjustment or maintenance of the machine.
The same applies to any works on the mowing
head.

Replacing the Spark Plug
Check the spark plug and the spark gap on a
regular basis. For this proceed as follows:
Allow the engine to cool
down.
Pull the spark plug connector
from the spark plug.
Screw off the spark plug using
the socket wrench and
screwdriver.
Figure 49 Spark Plug Gap
Check the electrode gap.   The gap should be approx. 0.6 to 0.7 mm.
Clean the spark plug when it is contaminated.
Re-install the spark plug being careful not to over tighten
it.
Replace the spark plug with a similar make and model:
Every 100 hours or once in a year (whichever case comes
first).
When the insulating body is damaged.   When the electrodes show excessive erosion (required
0.6 mm - 0.7 mm).

Adjusting the Strimmer Fibre
Warning! The thread spool still runs for a short
while after the engine has been turned off.
Keep your hands and feet away from the rotation area. Wait until it comes to a dead stop
before adjusting the fibre.
When the strimmer fibre becomes too short due to wearing tap the strimmer spool slightly on solid ground several times. The thread is unlocked and extended due to centrifugal force and
then automatically cut to the required length.
Cleaning the Air Filter
Clean the air filter from dust and dirt on a regular basis, approximately every 16 hours of use to prevent, starting
problems, loss of output and/or too high fuel consumption.

Put the choke lever to the position OFF to prevent dirt
from entering the carburettor.
Loosen the screw (A) with the screwdriver and remove it
together with the cover (B). 
Remove the air filter (C) and the metal inlay (D).
Tap the filter on a firm surface to remove dust. Use high
pressure air (max. 3 bar) to remove stubborn dust.
Apply a small amount of air filter oil on the filter to
increase the filter performance. Wring out surplus oil and put the filter into the case.
Re-insert the metal inlay (D) and filter (C).  Attach the cover (B); fasten the screw (A).
Do not puff/blow out dirt particles, otherwise there is a risk of
eye injury.
Allow the air filter to dry well and reinsert it. 
Place the air filter cover on the air filter and screw on the
air filter housing.
