Slopesarea majorfactorrelatedto slipandfallaccidentswhich canresultinsevereinjury.Operationonslopesrequiresextra
caution.Ifyoufeeluneasyona slope,donotmowit.Foryour safety,usethe slopegaugeincludedaspart ofthis manualto measureslopesbeforeoperatingthisunitona slopedor hilly area.Iftheslopeis greaterthan15degrees,do notmowit.
Do:
1. Mowacrossthefaceof slopes;neverup anddown.
Exerciseextremecautionwhenchangingdirectionon slopes.
2. Watchfor holes,ruts, rocks,hiddenobjects,or bumpswhich can causeyou toslipor trip.Tallgrasscan hideobstacles.
3. Alwaysbesureofyourfooting.A slip andfall cancause
seriouspersonalinjury.If you feelyou are losingyour balance,releasethebladecontrolhandleimmediately,and
the blade willstop rotatingwithin3 seconds.
Do Not:
1. Donotmowneardrop-offs, ditchesorembankments,where you couldloseyour footingor balance.
2. Donotmowslopesgreaterthan 15degreesas shownon the slopegauge.
3. Donotmowon wetgrass. Unstablefootingcouldcause
slipping.

Safe HandlingOf Gasoline:
1. Toavoidpersonalinjuryor propertydamageuseextreme carein handlinggasoline.Gasolineisextremelyflammable
andthevaporsare explosive.Seriouspersonalinjurycan occurwhengasolineis spilledonyourselforyour clothes
whichcanignite.
2. Washyour skinand changeclothesimmediately.
3. Useonly anapprovedgasolinecontainer.
4. Neverfill containersinsideavehicleor ona truckor trailer
bedwith aplasticliner.Alwaysplacecontainersonthe groundawayfromyourvehiclebeforefilling.
5. Removegas-poweredequipmentfromthe truck ortrailer
andrefuelit onthe ground.Ifthis is notpossible,then refuel suchequipmentona trailerwitha portablecontainer,rather
thanfroma gasolinedispensernozzle.
6. Keepthe nozzlein contactwith therim ofthefueltank or containeropeningat alltimesuntil fuelingis complete.Do
notusea nozzlelock-opendevice.
7. Extinguishallcigarettes,cigars,pipesandothersources ofignition.
8. Neverfuel machineindoorsbecauseflammablevaporswill accumulatein the area.
9. Neverremovegascap oradd fuelwhileengineishot or running. Allowengineto coolatleasttwo minutesbefore refueling.
10.Neveroverfill fuel tank. Filltankto nomorethan _ inch belowbottomoffillerneckto provideforfuelexpansion.
11.Replacegasolinecapandtightensecurely.
12.If gasolineis spilled,wipe it offthe engineand equipment. Moveunitto anotherarea.Wait5 minutesbeforestarting engine.
13.Neverstorethe machineorfuel containernearanopen flame,sparkorpilot lightasona waterheater,space heater,furnace,clothesdryer,orothergas appliances.
14.Toreducefire hazard,keepmowerfreeof grass,leaves, or otherdebrisbuild-up.Cleanupoil orfuel spillageand removeanyfuel soakeddebris.
15.Allowa mowerto coolat least5 minutesbeforestoring.

1. Neverrun anengineindoorsor ina poorlyventilatedarea. Engineexhaustcontainscarbonmonoxide,an odorlessand deadlygas.
2. Beforecleaning,repairing,orinspecting,makecertainthe bladeandall movingpartshavestopped.Disconnectthe sparkplugwire andgroundagainsttheengineto prevent
unintendedstarting.
3. Checkthe bladeandenginemountingboltsatfrequent intervalsfor propertightness.Also,visuallyinspectbladefor damage(e.g.,bent,cracked,worn)Replacebladewiththe originalequipmentmanufacture's(O.EM.) bladeonly,listed inthismanual."Useofpartswhichdo notmeettheoriginal equipmentspecificationsmayleadto improperperformance andcompromisesafety!"
