Information regarding these operating instructions
Congratulations on the purchase of your new device.
You have clearly decided in favour of a quality product. These operating instructions
are a component of Universal Battery Charger (hereafter referred to as the device
or product). They contain important information in regard to safety, use and disposal.
Before using the product, familiarise yourself with all of these operating and safety
instructions. Use the product only as described and only for the specified areas of
application. In addition, pass these documents on, together with the product, to
any future owner.

as extracts, as well as the reproduction of images, also in an altered state, is not
permitted without the express written consent of the manufacturer.

All technical information, data and instructions for the connection and operation contained in these operating instructions correspond to the latest available
at the time of printing and, to the best of our knowledge, take into account our
previous experience and know-how. No claims can be derived from the details,

Intended use
This appliance is intended exclusively for the non-commercial charging of
rechargeable Ni-Cd and Ni-MH batteries in the sizes AAA/AA/C/D and 9V
with standard commercial capacities.
Any other use or uses beyond those mentioned are considered to be unintended
use. Claims of any kind for damage resulting from unintended use will not be
accepted. The operator alone bears the liability.

Safety
In this section you will receive important safety information regarding the handling of the device. This device complies with the statutory safety regulations.
Incorrect usage can lead to injuries and property damage.
Basic Safety Instructions
For safe handling of the device observe the following
safety instructions:
■ Before use check the device for visible external damage.
Do not put into operation a device that is damaged or
has been dropped.
■ To avoid potential risks, if the appliance power cable is
damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its
customer service or by a qualified technician.
■ This appliance may be used by children aged 8 over and
by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that
they are under supervision or have been told how to use of
the appliance safely and are aware of the potential risks.
Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and
user maintenance tasks must not be carried out by children
unless they are supervised.
■ A repair to the device during the warranty period may
only be carried out by a customer service department
authorised by the manufacturer, if it is not, additional
warranty claims cannot be considered for subsequent
defects.
■ Do not make any changes or modifications to the
appliance yourself.
■ Protect the device from moisture and liquid penetration.
Never submerge the device in water, do not place the
device in the vicinity of water and do not stand any
object filled with liquid (i.e. vases) on the device.
■ Do not operate the device in the vicinity of open flames
(e.g. candles).

■ Avoid direct sunlight.
■ Charge exclusively rechargeable batteries of the types
"Ni-Cd“ and "Ni-MH".
■ NEVER recharge batteries of other types or non-re-
chargeable batteries. These are not suitable for recharging. Batteries not suitable for recharging can overheat
and explode. It could irreparably damage the device
and the inserted batteries.
■
This product is intended exclusively for indoor
operation in dry and enclosed rooms.
Interaction with rechargeable batteries (cells)
■ Do not use damaged or corroded rechargeable batteries
in the device.
■ Rechargeable batteries (cells) can be fatal if swallowed.
Therefore, always keep the device and the rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children!
■ If a rechargeable battery is swallowed medical assistance
must be sought IMMEDIATELY.
■ Should a battery have leaked, you must avoid contact
by the battery fluid with the skin! The battery liquid can
cause acid burns on the skin!
■ Remove the leaked battery liquid with a dry, absorbent
cloth and avoid contact by it with the skin by wearing,
for example, a pair of gloves.

The device is delivered with the following components as standard:

NOTICE
► Check the contents to make sure everything is there and for visible damage.
► If the items supplied are incomplete, or damaged due to defective packaging
or transportation, contact the Service Hotline (see section Service).
♦ Remove the device and the operating instructions from the carton.
♦ Remove all packing material.
DANGER
► Packaging material should not be used as a play thing.
There is a risk of suffocation!
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the device from transport damage. The packaging
materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness
and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable.
The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves on raw material
and reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose of packaging material
that is no longer needed as per the regionally established regulations.
NOTICE
► If possible preserve the device's original packaging during the warranty
period so that, in the event of a warranty claim, you can package the
device ideally for its return.

Handling and operation
In this chapter you will receive important information for the handling and operation of the device.
Charging batteries
♦ Place the device on a smooth, level and slip resistant surface.
♦ Compare the technical details with those of your power supplier. If they
match, insert the plug into a mains power socket. The LEDs
glow red and
green once. The battery charger is now ready for use.
♦ Insert the batteries into the loading slots
. Press the 9 V Block batteries
into the loading slot until they audibly engage.
NOTICE
► 1 to 6 batteries can be individually charged:
- 4 x Type C or Type D in the loading slots
1 to 4
or
- 4 x Type AA or AAA in the loading slots
1 to 4 and additionally
2 x Type 9 Volt Block batteries in the loading slots 5 and 6.
♦ The charging process now begins. The battery charger has an LED
for
each compartment in the loading slot
. The LEDs of the respective
loading slots
show the charge status of the individual batteries.
During the first 5 seconds the battery charger carries out a capacity test:

NOTICE
► Should the LED
of the loading slot
blink red for more than 5 seconds,
then the battery is either not properly inserted into the loading slot
or
it is defective.
♦ When the battery capacity has been determined, the charging process begins.

Operating status displays
The various displays have the following meanings:
■ The LED
blinks red and green in 1 second intervals (not for 9 V): The batteries are
being alternately charged and discharged (Refresh-Function: older or long stored
batteries are being refreshed).
■ The LED
blinks red and green in 1/2 second intervals (not for 9 V): The batter-
ies are being discharged to reduce the memory effect.
■ The LED
glows red constantly: The batteries are being charged with the maxi-
mum charge current.
■ The LED
glows green constantly: The batteries are fully charged and the bat-
tery charger has switched to trickle charge.
Calculating the average charging time
Depending on the type, age and remaining charge in the batteries, the charging
process can take various lengths of time. The average charge time can be calculated using the following formula. Take note however that the times given are
only guiding values.

Automatic charging control / Retention charging
This battery charger controls the charging time for batteries of the types Ni-Cd
and Ni-MH separately. This control is based on the –Δ U ("minus Delta U")
calculation. In mathematics, with Delta Δ differences are indicated. In this case,
"Minus Delta U" means a negative voltage difference.
This charge identification makes itself useful in the following effects: Should a
battery be charged with a constant current, its voltage rises continuously. When
a battery is full, its voltage reaches a maximum but falls again slightly with further
current flow. This light fall in voltage is recognised by the charging electronics and
the charge process is terminated. The battery charger automatically switches to
"Retention charging". This means that the batteries are no longer being loaded
with constant current, instead, with short current pulses. This counteracts the selfdischarge and the batteries are kept in a state of full charge.
Timer control
In addition, this battery charger has a timer control which automatically switches
over to retention charging after 15 hours. This serves as an additional protection
against overcharging should the charge termination not respond due to a possibly
defective battery.

Cleaning
DANGER
►
Always remove the plug before cleaning the device. There is the risk of an
electric shock!
► When you are cleaning the device ensure that no moisture gets inside it, so
as to avoid irreparable damage to it.
IMPORTANT
► Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents, as these can damage
the upper surfaces.
♦ Clean the surfaces of the device with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn soiling
use a lightly moistened cloth.
♦ Never clean the insides of the loading slots
with moist cloths. Instead,
use a clean soft brush to clean them.
♦ If soiled, clean the charging contacts with a dry cloth.
Storage / Disposal
Storage
If you do not intend to use the device for a longer time, remove the batteries and
store it in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Disposal of the device
Do not dispose of the device in your normal domestic waste.
This product is subject to the provisions of the European Directive
2012/19/EU WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
Dispose of the device through an approved disposal centre or at your community
waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt,
please contact your waste disposal centre.
Disposal of batteries / cells
Used batteries / cells may not be disposed of in household waste. All consumers are statutorily obliged to dispose of batteries / cells at a collection site of his
community / city district or at a retail store. The purpose of this obligation is to
ensure that batteries are disposed of in a non-polluting manner. Only dispose of
batteries / cells when they are fully discharged.

Troubleshooting
In this section you will receive important information for the localisation and
remedying of malfunctions.
Malfunction causes and remedies
The following table will help with localising and remedying minor malfunctions:

2014/30/EU as well as the Directive for Low Voltage
Devices 2014/35/EU.

Dear Customer,
This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase. If this
product has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by the warranty described below.
Warranty conditions
The validity period of the warranty starts from the date of purchase. Please keep
your original receipt in a safe place. This document will be required as proof of
purchase. If any material or production fault occurs within three years of the date
of purchase of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for you at
our discretion. This warranty service is dependent on you presenting the defective
appliance and the proof of purchase (receipt) and a short written description of
the fault and its time of occurrence. If the defect is covered by the warranty, your
product will either be repaired or replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a
product does not signify the beginning of a new warranty period.

Warranty period and statutory claims for defects
The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs effected under the warranty.
This also applies to replaced and repaired components. Any damage and
defects present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Repairs carried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject
to a fee.
Scope of the warranty
This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with strict quality guidelines and inspected meticulously prior to delivery.
The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The warranty does not
extend to product parts subject to normal wear and tear or fragile parts such as
switches, batteries, baking moulds or parts made of glass.
The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged, improperly used
or improperly maintained. The directions in the operating instructions for the
product regarding proper use of the product are to be strictly followed. Uses and
actions that are discouraged in the operating instructions or which are warned
against must be avoided.
This product is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes.
The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper handling, use
of force and modifications/repairs which have not been carried out by one of
our authorised Service centres.
Warranty claim procedure
To ensure quick processing of your case, please observe the following
instructions:
▯ Please have the till receipt and the item number (e.g. IAN 12345) available
as proof of purchase.
▯ You will find the item number on the type plate, an engraving on the front
page of the instructions (bottom left), or as a sticker on the rear or bottom of
the appliance.
▯ If functional or other defects occur, please contact the service department
listed either by telephone or by e-mail.
▯ You can return a defective product to us free of charge to the service address
that will be provided to you. Ensure that you enclose the proof of purchase
(till receipt) and information about what the defect is and when it occurred.

Gratulálunk új készüléke megvásárlásához.
Vásárlásával kiváló minőségű termék mellett döntött. A használati útmutató az
univerzális akku töltő része (az alábbiakban készülék vagy termék). Fontos
tudnivalókat tartalmaz a biztonságra, használatra és ártalmatlanításra vonatkozólag. A termék használata előtt ismerkedjen meg a használati és biztonsági
utasításokkal. Csak a leírtak szerint és a megadott célokra használja a terméket.
A készülék harmadik személynek történő továbbadásakor adja a termékhez
valamennyi leírást is.

Más vagy ezen túlmenő használat rendeltetésellenesnek minősül. Nem rendeltetésszerű használatból eredő kár esetén fellépő igények ki vannak zárva.
A kockázatot egyedül az üzemeltető viseli.

Az alábbi használati útmutatóban a következő figyelmeztető utasításokat
használjuk:
VESZÉLY

Biztonság
Ebben a fejezetben a készülék kezelésével kapcsolatos fontos biztonsági utasításokat ismerhet meg. A készülék megfelel az előírt biztonsági utasításoknak.
A szakszerűtlen használat azonban személyi és anyagi kárt is okozhat.
Alapvető biztonsági utasítások
A készülék biztonságos használata érdekében tartsa be
az alábbi biztonsági utasításokat:
■ Használat előtt ellenőrizze a készüléket, hogy nincsen-e
rajta szemmel látható kár. Ne működtessen hibás vagy
leesett készüléket.
■ A veszélyek elkerülése érdekében a sérült hálózati veze-
téket vagy csatlakozót azonnal cseréltesse ki hozzáértő
szakemberrel vagy az ügyfélszolgálattal.
■ A készüléket 8 éves kor feletti gyermekek és csökkent
fizikai, érzékszervi vagy mentális képességű vagy tapasztalattal illetve tudással nem rendelkező személyek
felügyelet mellett használhatják, vagy ha felvilágosították őket a készülék biztonságos használatáról és az
ebből eredő veszélyeket megértik. Gyermekeknek nem
szabad a készülékkel játszani. Tisztítást és a felhasználó által végzendő karbantartást felügyelet nélküli
gyermekek nem végezhetnek.
■ A készüléket a garanciaidő alatt csak a gyártó által en-
gedélyezett ügyfélszolgálat javíthatja, különben az utána
előforduló kár esetén már nem érvényes a garancia.
■ Saját maga ne végezzen módosítást vagy javítást a
készüléken.
■ Védje a készüléket a nedvességtől és ne engedje, hogy
folyadék hatoljon bele. Ne merítse a készüléket vízbe,
ne tegye a készüléket víz közelébe és ne tegyen rá
folyadékkal töltött tárgyat (pl. vázát).
■ A készüléket ne üzemeltesse nyílt láng (pl. gyertya)
közelében.
■ Ne érje a készüléket közvetlen napsugárzás.

■ Kizárólag újratölthető „Ni-Cd“ és „Ni-MH“ típusú
elemet töltsön.
■ Soha ne töltsön más típusú elemet vagy nem újratölthe-
tő elemet. Ezek nem alkalmasak az újratöltésre. A nem
tölthető elemek túlhevülhetnek és felrobbanhatnak. A
készülék és a behelyezett elemek helyrehozhatatlanul
megsérülhetnek.

Az újratölthető elemek (akkuk) kezelése
■ Ne használjon sérült vagy rozsdás újratölthető elemet a
készülékben.
■ Az újratölthető elemek (akku) lenyelve életveszélyes
lehet. Ezért a készüléket és az újratölthető elemeket
gyermekektől elzárva tartsa!
■ Ha valaki lenyelné az újratölthető elemeket, azonnal
orvoshoz kell fordulni.
■ Ha kifolyna az elem, mindenképpen vigyázzunk, hogy
az elemben lévő folyadék ne kerüljön érintkezésbe a
bőrünkkel! Az elemben lévő folyadék kimarhatja a bőrt!
■ A kifolyt elemsavat száraz, felszívó ronggyal szedjük fel
és közben ne érjen a bőrünkhöz, ez ellen pl. kesztyűvel
védjük magunkat.

Üzembevétel
A csomag tartalma és annak hiánytalanságának
ellenőrzése
A készüléket szabványszerűen az alábbi elemekkel szállítjuk:

▯ ez a használati utasítás
TUDNIVALÓ
► Ellenőrizze a csomag tartalmát, hogy hiánytalan-e és nincs-e rajta látható
sérülés.
► Forduljon az ügyfélszolgálati forródrótunkhoz (lásd a Szerviz), ha a
csomag hiányos csomagolás vagy szállítás miatt hiányos vagy sérült lenne.
♦ Vegye ki a készüléket és a használati útmutatót a kartondobozból.
♦ Távolítsa el az összes csomagolóanyagot!
VESZÉLY
► A csomagolóanyag nem játékszer. Fulladás veszélye áll fenn.
A csomagolás ártalmatlanítása
A csomagolás védi a készüléket a szállítás közben előfordulható károktól. A csomagolóanyagok környezetbarát módon és a hulladékszétválasztás szempontja
szerint kerültek kiválasztásra, ezért újrahasznosíthatóak.
Nyersanyagot takarít meg és csökkenti a hulladékmennyiséget, ha a csomagolást
visszajuttatjuk az anyagkörforgásba. A kiselejtezett csomagolóanyagokat a helyi
érvényes előírásoknak megfelelően helyezze el a hulladékban.
TUDNIVALÓ
► Amennyiben lehetséges, őrizze meg az eredeti csomagolást a garancia
ideje alatt, hogy garancia esetén rendesen vissza lehessen csomagolni bele.

Kezelés és üzemeltetés
Ebben a fejezetben a készülék kezelésére és üzemeltetésére vonatkozó fontos
utasításokat ismerhet meg.
Az akkumulátorok töltése
♦ A készüléket helyezze sík, egyenes és csúszásbiztos alapra.
♦ Vesse össze a műszaki adatait az áramhálózat üzemeltetőjének adataival.
Megegyezés esetén csatlakoztassa a vezetéket egy konnektorhoz. A LED-ek
háromszor pirosan villannak fel. Az akkumulátor töltő ezzel üzemkész
állapotban van.
♦ Helyezze be az elemeket a töltőhéjba
. Nyomja bele a 9 V-os elemeket
a töltőhéjba , amíg azok hallhatóan bepattannak a helyükre.

► Egyénileg 1- 6 akkut lehet tölteni.
- 4 db C vagy D típusút az 1-4 töltőhéjakban
vagy
- 4 db AA vagy AAA típusút az 1-4 töltőhéjakban, plusz 2 db 9 V-os
elemet az 5-ös és 6-os töltőhéjakban

♦ Ezzel kezdetét veszi a töltési folyamat. Az akkutöltő valamennyi töltőhéjá-
ban
egy-egy LED van. Az adott töltőrekeszek LED-jei jelzik az
egyes elemek töltési
szintjét.

Üzemi állapot kijelzések
A különböző jelzéseknek az alábbi jelentésük van:
■ A LED
másodpercenként pirosan és zölden villog és az akku jelnél lévő oszlopok felváltva lentről lefele mozognak és fordítva: az akkuk felváltva töltődnek és
kisülnek. (felfrissítési funkció: a régebbi vagy hosszabb ideje tárolt elemet frissíti
fel újra.)
■ A LED
másodpercenként zölden villog és az akku jelben lévő oszlopok lentről
felfele mozognak: a nagyon kisült akku csökkentett töltőárammal kíméletesen
előtöltődik.
■ A LED
folyamatosan pirosan világít és az akku jelben lévő oszlopok lentről
felfele mozognak: az akkuk maximális töltőárammal töltődnek.
■ A LED
folyamatosan zölden világít és az akku jelben valamennyi oszlop folyamatosan világít: az akkuk teljesen fel vannak töltve és az akku töltő fenntartó
töltésre kapcsol át.
Az átlagos töltési idő kiszámítása
Az elemek típusától, korától és maradék töltöttségi szintjétől függően a töltés
nem egyforma ideig tart. Az átlagos töltési időket az alábbi képlettel lehet
kiszámolni. Vegye azonban figyelembe, hogy a kiszámolt időtartamok csak
hozzávetőleges értékek.

Automatikus töltésellenőrzés/ fenntartó töltés
Az elemtöltő külön szabályozza az Ni-Cd és a Ni-MH újratölthető elemek töltési
idejét. Ez a vezérlés a –Δ U („mínusz Delta U“) eljáráson alapszik. Delta Δ-vel
jelöljük a matematikában a különbözeteket. A „Minus Delta U“ ebben az esetben
negatív feszültségkülönbözetet jelent.
Ez a töltésfelismerés az alábbi hatást használja fel: ha az elem konstans árammal
töltődik, feszültsége folyamatosan nő. Ha az elem tele van, feszültsége eljut
egy maximum értékre, de a további áramátadás esetén újra csökken. A töltési
elektronika felismeri ezt az enyhe feszültségcsökkenést és a töltés befejeződik.
Az elemtöltő automatikusan „fenntartó töltésre“ kapcsol át. Ez azt jelenti, hogy
az akkukat nem tartós árammal, hanem rövid áramimpulzusokkal tölti a készülék.
Így ellene hat az önkisülésnek és az akkukat teljes telítettségi állapotban tartja.
Időzítő vezérlése
A töltő ezenkívül időzítővel is rendelkezik, mely 15 óra után magától vált át fenntartó töltésre. Ez a túltöltést védi még pluszban, ha a töltés végének felismerése
esetleg hibás akku miatt nem reagálna.

Tisztítás
VESZÉLY
►
Tisztítás előtt húzza ki a hálózati csatlakozót. Ez esetben áramütés veszélye állhat fenn!
► Győződjön meg arról, hogy tisztításkor ne kerüljön nedvesség a készülékbe,
nehogy helyrehozhatatlan kár keletkezzen benne.
FIGYELEM
► Ne használjon erős, vagy súroló tisztítószert, mert ez megtámadhatja a
készülék felületét.
♦ A készülék felületét puha és száraz ronggyal tisztítsa. Makacs szennyező-
dések esetén használjon enyhén nedves kendőt.
♦ A töltőmélyedések
belsejét semmiképpen se tisztítsa vízzel. A tisztítás-
hoz víz helyett használjon egy száraz, puha ecsetet!
♦ Az elemek érintkezéseit száraz kendővel tisztítsa, ha szennyezettek.
Tárolás/Ártalmatlanítás
Tárolás
Ha hosszabb ideig nem használja a készüléket, húzza ki a dugaszoló aljzatból
és száraz, tiszta helyen tartsa, ahol nem éri közvetlenül napsugárzás.
A készülék ártalmatlanítása
Semmi esetre se dobja a készüléket a háztartási hulladékba.
A termék az európai 2012/19/EU WEEE (Waste Electrical and
Electronic Equipment) irányelv alá tartozik.
A készüléket engedélyeztetett hulladékgyűjtő helyen vagy a helyi hulladékel-
távolító üzemnél tudja kidobni. Vegye figyelembe az érvényben lévő idevonatkozó előírásokat. Kétség esetén vegye fel a kapcsolatot a hulladékfeldolgozó
vállalattal.
Az elemek/akkuk ártalmatlanítása
Az elemeket/akkukat nem szabad a háztartási hulladékba dobni. Valamennyi
felhasználó törvényes kötelessége az elemeket és akkukat városa ill. városrésze
gyűjtőhelyén vagy a kereskedelemben leadni. Ez a kötelezettség azt a célt szolgálja, hogy az elemek/akkuk környezetkímélő ártalmatlanításra kerülhessenek.
Az elemeket és akkukat csak lemerült állapotban adják le.
