INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Mounting the device
The installation of the effect has to be built and constructed in a way that it can hold 10 times the weight for 1 hour without any harming deformation.
The installation must always be secured with a secondary safety attachment, e.g. an appropriate safety rope.
Never stand directly below the device when mounting, removing or servicing the fixture.
The operator has to make sure the safety relating and machine technical installations are approved by an expert before taking the device into operation for the first time. These installations have to be approved by a skilled person once a year.
- - XM340-V1.0 - A
8
Cautions:
The effect should be installed outside areas where persons may reach it, walk by or be seated.
Overhead mounting requires extensive experience, including amongst others calculating working load limits, installation material being used, and periodic safety inspection of all installation material and the device. If you lack these qualifications, do not attempt the installation yourself. Improper installation can result in bodily injury.
Before mounting make sure that the installation area can hold a minimum point load of 10 times the device’s weight. Connect the fixture to the mains with the power plug.
- - XM340-V1.0 - A
9
Overhead rigging
Screw the bolt of the clamp into the hold of the bracket, and tighten the screw underneath. Pull the safety-rope through the holes on the bracket of the base and over the trussing system or a safe fixation spot. Insert the end in the carabine and tighten the safety screw.

DMX-512 control connection
Connect the provided XLR cable to the female 3-pin XLR output of your controller and the other side to the male 3-pin XLR input of the LED lighting. You can chain multiple LED lighting together through serial linking. The cable needed should be two core, screened cable with XLR input and output connectors. Please refer to the diagram below.
DMX-512 connection with DMX terminator
For installations where the DMX cable has to run a long distance or is in an electrically noisy environment, such as in a discotheque, it is recommended to use a DMX terminator. This helps in preventing corruption of the digital control signal by electrical noise. The DMX terminator is simply an XLR plug with a 120 Ω resistor connected between pins 2 and 3,which is then plugged into the output XLR socket of the last fixture in the chain. Please see illustrations below.

Remark:
1) You can control the fixture no matter in which mode. When the DMX signal is out, the fixture will keep the last status of the DMX, and the manual mode would be unavailable.
2) Instruction for the SPED and the FADE function in CHAS: SPEED: The time one step would stay FADE: The time that one step altered to next step
- - XM340-V1.0 - A
13
Example: we set SPEED ==1second, and FADE ==1second, the 1st step is Red 100% open, the 2nd step is green 100% open, the 3rd step is Blue 100% open. So, the Chase would come out as: 1, The Red 100% open and stay for 1second (SPEED) 2, Then Red drop down from 100% to 0%, the same time Green from 0% to 100%, in 1second (FADE) 3, The Green stay 100% for 1second 4, Then Green drop down from 100% to 0%, the same time Blue from 0% to 100%, in 1second (FADE) 5, Blue stay 100% for 1second. 6,Then Blue drop down from 100% to 0%, the Red come up from 0% to 100%
3) Remote DMX addressing (RDMX) - This function allows the DMX address to
be changed remotely from a DMX console. This setting requires special settings
for both the controller and the fixture.
1. RDMX function may be turned on and off, and is “ON” be default. Follow the

14
d. Press the UP button to display “ON” to activate this function, or “OFF” to
deactivate this function.
e. Press ENTER to confirm.
f. Press MODE/ESC to return to the main menu.
3. Controller Settings:
a. Set the DMX value of channel 1 to a value of 7.
b. Set the DMX value of channel 2 to a value of 7 or 8. When channel 2 is set to
"7" you can adjust the starting address between 1 and 255. When set to "8" you can
adjust the starting address between 256 and 512.
c. Use channel 3 to set your desired DMX starting address. For example: If you
want to set the starting address to 57, set channel 1 to a value of “7,” set channel 2
to a value of “7” and use channel 3 to set your address to 57 by selecting a channel
value of 57. Example 2: If you want to set the starting address to 420, set channel 1
to a value of “7,” channel 2 to "8" and channel 3 to "164" (256+164=420).
4. Wait for approximately 20 seconds for the unit to complete the address reset
