ways accurately guide die long tool slide. Way and gib adjustments provide take-up of clearances between slide
and ways.
O WIDE TOOL SLIDE. There’s ample area on the
long, heavy tool slide for mounting multiple tools. Accurate right angle key slots simplify tool mounting. Large keys resist shear load. Ram pulls slide
:
downward for broaching — eliminates ram deflection and packing wear. Cylinder is independent of slide — no distortion from heat. Tool slide and shuttle table motions are definitely interlocked to protect tool, fix ture, work and machine against damage.
GENEROUS COOLANT SUPPLY. A vertical

motor-driven centrifugal pomp conveniently locat ed and easily accessible delivers a generous volume of coolant direct to tools and work. Lever cock volume control, rigid coolant pipe and broach nozzles con veniently located.
FINGER-TIP CONTROL. Dual safety push-but-
u tons, conveniently located, simplify starting of each semi-automatic cycle to a light touch with both hands on push-buttons simultaneously. Removing both
hands from work, fixture or tool automatically to start cycle assures maximum safety to operator. Machine
stops automatically when cycle is completed. There are
no levers, links, springs or valves to fatigue operator. Patented, interlocked, semi-automatic and full-automatic operation prevents shuttling of fixture outward until
broaching stroke is completed or shuttling of fixture inward until tool slide is up. This feature assures maxi mum protection for tools and fixtures.
INTERLOCKED SHUTTLE TABLE. Ample area
is provided on the rigid shuttle table for mount ing multiple fixtures. Accurate right angle key slots simplify fixture mounting. Large keys resist Hardened and ground, pressure-lubricated, rectangular
ways with gib adjustment guide shuttle table. Patented, interlocked, shuttle mechanism is positively locked in broaching position. (See pages 4 and 5.)

knee and foot room for comfortable operation.
Bracket is keyed and bolted to frame.

RESERVOIR BASE. Ample power fluid and
O coolant reservoirs with sight gauges are built in the rigid all-steel base. Large chip compartment easily cleaned through dual-covered side chutes. Oil filler strainer and breather furnished on power fluid reservoir.
ALL-STEEL BOX FRAME. Rigid box-type frame
construction assures permanent alignment and re sistance to peak capacity. Close broaching tolerances easily maintained. Shuttle mechanism, cylinders and piping fully enclosed.

Designed exclusively for profitable surface broaching.
Oil gear's Fluid Power Single Slide Vertical Surface
Broaching Machines combine economic production with a high degree of accuracy and finish. Fxternal slots,
faces, forms, contours, and the like on one or more parts arc finished rapidly in one sweep at low tool, oper ating and maintenance cost.
No longer is surface broaching confined to automotive
and allied industries. Oilgear machines with simpli fied tools and fixtures have made surface broaching
profitable in almost every metal working industry. Even where quantities are relatively small, one or more of
