HOTROD® XL
Trim-Tex® HOTROD® XL is a re rated wall mount
deection bead that provides 1- and 2-hour re ratings
for both dynamic and static joints for both uted deck
and concrete assemblies according to UL-2079 5
th
edition (for both standard walls and shaft walls) and no
spray is required over mineral wool, and is sound tested
according to ASTM E90. Sound Reports are available
upon request. Composite vinyl/intumescent restopping
accessory is fully cured. Comes in 10ʹ lengths with a
5/16ʺ tear off strip that acts as a guide to apply joint
compound without masking off adjoining surfaces. Made
from rust proof, dent resistant PVC to reduce jobsite and
handling damage. Does not contain cellulose, a potential
food source for mold, and provides an unlimited shelf life.
Installation Instructions
Step 1. Install drywall no more than 3/4" down from
concrete/adjoining structure.

Step 2. Install the HOTROD
XL with 847 Spray
Adhesive and/or staples attaching the perforated leg
with 1/2ʺ staple every 6-8ʺ.
Step 3. The top edge of white vinyl exible leg is
designed to come in contact with the adjoining structure
and provide a exible joint ll material.
For Butt Joints: The white exible leg should maintain
moderate contact, the black foam should maintain
moderate contact up to ¼" compression.
