C-2000 MODEL OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT.
This instruction manual provides important information on the use of the C-2000. If
there are any questions regarding the use of this unit please contact your distributor or
call Tri-Dim Filter Corp at 800-544-0094.
Note: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s publication “ Guidance for
Controlling Asbestos-Containing Materials in Buildings”, EPA 560/5-85-024 contains
information on air filtration systems. It is recommended that anyone performing asbestos
abatement should read the most recent edition of the EPA publication before using any
air filtration devices.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Differential pressure air filtration systems are one of the primary ways of confining and
reducing airborne particulate. A negative pressure condition exists when the static
pressure inside the enclosed work area is lower then that of the environment outside of
the work area. The negative pressure is created and maintained by moving air from the
work area through an air filtration device to the environment outside this work area.
The correct use of the C-2000 during construction or abatement helps prevent the largescale migration of airborne particles to the environment outside the work area and it also
lowers the particle count inside the work area.

FILTERS
Ring Panel Filter - Tri-Dek Multiply panel media prevents the premature loading of the
HEPA Filter by removing the large particles.
HEPA Max - HEPA Max filter is rated at 99.97% @ .3 micron size particles. The
HEPA Max filters are individually tested and rated at 2000 cfm.
Caution: Tri-Dim Filter Corp C-2000 is designed to meet or exceed standards for
HEPA filtration equipment. The use of inferior filters will void all
performance claims for the C-2000.
Motor / Blower Assembly - The motor powers the direct drive centrifugal fan which
pulls air through ring panel filter and then through the HEPA filter.
VENTILATION REQUIREMENTS / SIZING THE WORK SITE
The EPA recommends one air change every 15 minutes (4 times per hour) in the work
area as a minimum. To determine total air flow requirements:
1. Determine the volume of the work area in cubic feet. (Length x Width x ceiling
Height)
2. Divide the cubic feet of the work area by 15 (minutes) to determine the cfm
required to achieve the 4 air changes per hour.
Example
Work area dimensions: 40ft x 40ft x 10ft high
Volume of work area = 40 x 40 x 10 = 16000 cubic feet
Total airflow required to achieve one air change per 15 minutes.
16000 divided by 15minutes = 1066 cfm

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. For maximum user safety, the C-2000 should be connected to a three-prong
grounded outlet equipped a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt (GFCI) device.
2. All electrical equipment used on the job site must be in good condition and
properly grounded. Check outlets, wiring, extension cords and the ground pins on
plugs. The use of damaged electrical equipment can cause fatal electrical shock.
3. Extension cords used for the C-2000 must be the heavy duty 12-3 industrial grade
3-wire type.
4. The C-2000 requires a minimum of 100 volts to operate. Make sure that any
extension cord used does not reduce the voltage to less then 100 volts. The rated
amp draw is 15 amps.
LOCATION OF UNITS
WARNING: The C-2000 HEPA is not explosion proof. Do not use in explosive
atmospheres.
The C-2000 should be positioned at a maximum distance from the worker access opening
or other make-up air sources. It must not be exhausted to uncontaminated or occupied
areas of the building. The end of the flexible exhaust duct should be placed through an
opening in the containment barrier or wall coverings; suitable duct tape should be used to
seal off any openings.
Note: The C-2000 units are designed for indoor use only.
USE OF THE C-2000
Once the work area preparation stage on the work site is complete the unit should be
started before any abatement / construction begins. Smoke tubes can be used to visually
check the airflow direction in the work area.
Negative pressure differential between the work area and the environment outside the
containment area can be monitored with a suitable pressure differential monitoring
system.
If a power failure occurs while the C-2000 is in operation, stop the work until power can
be restored and the C-2000 is operating again.
TO START THE UNIT
Connect the C-2000 to a 100 Vac power source using a suitable power cord. The male
plug is located on control panel.
Set the speed control to high speed.

FILTER PRESSURE GAGE
The filter pressure gage indicates the pressure on the prefilter and HEPA filter. When
the filters are clean, the gage will read 1.0” to 1.3” wg. The reason for this range in the
clean readings is the variation of voltages 100 Vac – 120 Vac.
FILTER REPLACEMENT
The concentration of airborne particles in the work area determines how often the filters
in the C-2000 need to be replaced. The C-2000 is equipped with a pressure gage, to
measure the pressure across the pre filters and the pressure across the HEPA filter. As
the filters become loaded, the airflow capacity of the C-2000 decreases. When the
pressure gage reading increases by 0.5”to 1.5” -1.8” wg with clean prefilters, the HEPA
filter must be replaced.
Personnel responsible for changing filters must wear NIOSH approved respirators
along with the other required protective equipment.
Always disconnect power to the C-2000 before replacing filters.
Excessive dust and dirt inside the C-2000 cabinet should be removed with each
filter change out.
1. PRE FILTER CHANGE OUT Remove the old ring panel and place them in a
suitable disposal bag. The ring panel is held in place via the in take grille door.
2. HEPA FILTER CHANGE OUT . Disconnect power to the C-2000, remove
the used HEPA and place it in a suitable disposal bag. The HEPA filter is located
behind the ring panel and intake grille door. Caution must be used when
handling the new HEPA filter to insure that the filter is not damaged.
Inspect the gasket on the new HEPA filter; make sure that there are no cracks,
gaps, and/or defects. Such defects could permit leakage of contaminated air
through the unit.
Install the new Tri-Dim Filter HEPA Max filter; gasket end of the HEPA is placed
in first towards the blower. Install the two HEPA retaining brackets and tighten
the retaining bolts securely with 20 lbs of torque pressure. Replace the discharge
door panel.
PN 741112424201 - HEPA Max 99.97% Efficiency - 1 REQUIRED
To order contact the distributor from whom you purchased the C-2000. If
you have questions regarding the operation of the C-2000 please contact
your distributor or consult with the factory before operating the unit.
TRANSPORTING THE C-2000
When the C-2000 is shut down at the end of the project intake and
exhaust opening should be sealed with polyethylene and duct tape to
prevent re-contaminating the area after final clean up.
