HOW DOES LASER HAIR RE MOVAL WORK?

The Tria Laser 4X deactivates the follicles in your skin that produce hair. It emits a pulse of laser light, which heats up the dark pigment inside the hair and deactivates the hair follicle. That’s why it can deliver permanent results and works only on naturally brown or black hair.

To be most effective, the Tria Laser 4X needs to treat each hair follicle during its active growth period. Hair grows in cycles, so multiple treatments are necessary. For best results, treat every two weeks for up to 3 months or until you are satisfied with the amount of hair reduction.

WHAT THE TRIA LASER 4X IS USED FOR (INDICATIONS)

The Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X is used to remove unwanted hair. It is an over-the-counter system intended for adjunctive use with shaving for hair removal sustained with periodic treatments. It is also intended for permanent reduction in hair regrowth defined as long-term, stable reduction in the number of hairs regrowing when measured out to 6, 9 and 12 months after the completion of the treatment regime.

It is intended for use only on light to medium skin tones (see the Skin Tone Chart on the inside front cover) and naturally brown or black hair. It will not work on white, grey, blonde or red hair.

WHO SHOULD NOT USE THE TRIA LASER 4X (CONTRAINDICATIONS)

DO NOT use the Tria Laser 4X if your skin tone matches one listed as “Not Safe” on the Skin Tone Chart on the inside front cover of this booklet. If you use the Tria Laser 4X on skin deemed “Not Safe” for treatment, the skin may absorb too much laser light and be injured (burned, discoloured or scarred).

PLEASE NOTE: The skin sensor is a safety feature that unlocks the Tria Laser 4X. If it is not safe for you to use the Tria Laser 4X, you won’t be able to unlock it with the skin sensor.

DO NOT use the Tria Laser 4X if you are under the age of 18 or use it on anyone else under the age of 18. The use of the Tria Laser 4X on or by children has not been studied and could result in serious injury.

DO NOT use the Tria Laser 4X if you have a lighter hair colour, such as blonde, white, red or grey. In order for the laser to work, you must have naturally dark hair where you are treating. Lighter hair pigments will not absorb enough of the laser's energy to disable the hair follicle.

WARNINGS

DO NOT use the Tria Laser 4X on or around

the eyes, eyebrows or eyelashes. Doing so can cause permanent eye injury.

DO NOT use the Tria Laser 4X if the Skin

Tone Chart shows that your skin tone is not suitable. If you have African, Indian, Native American or Pacific Island heritage, you may have a skin tone that is not suitable—be sure to check the Skin Tone Chart. Darker skin tones can absorb too much laser light, which can injure the skin.

DO NOT use the Tria Laser 4X anywhere

on the ears, nipples, genitals or around the anus. These areas may have more sensitive skin, a darker skin tone, and/or a greater hair density, and using the Tria Laser 4X there may cause serious skin injury.

DO NOT use the Tria Laser 4X on parts of

your skin that are darker than your usual skin tone: tattoos, dark brown or black spots (such as large freckles, birthmarks or moles) or skin that is red or swollen from a previous treatment. Dark skin may absorb too much laser light, which can injure the skin.

DO NOT use the Tria Laser 4X on a man’s

face, jaw or neck. The hair in a man’s beard area is too dense, and using the Tria Laser 4X in these areas may result in skin injury.

Hair removal by laser can cause increased hair growth in some individuals. Based upon currently available data, the highest risk groups for this response are females of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and South Asian heritage treated on the face and neck.

DO NOT use the Tria Laser 4X on damaged

skin, including open wounds, cold sores, sunburns or areas where you have had a skin peel or other skin resurfacing procedure within the last 6-8 weeks (check with your doctor). These conditions can make the skin more susceptible to injury.

DO NOT use the Tria Laser 4X if you are

pregnant or breast-feeding. The Tria Laser 4X has not been tested on pregnant women. Hormonal changes could increase skin sensitivity and the risk of skin injury.

DO NOT use the Tria Laser 4X if it appears

damaged, and DO NOT attempt to open or repair or repair the Tria Laser 4X. These actions increase the risk of skin or eye injury. Please contact Customer Service for assistance.

Always follow the basic safety precautions

for electrical devices: DO NOT get the Tria Laser 4X or the charger damp or wet. DO NOT use the Tria Laser 4X while bathing or put it next to a bath or sink. DO NOT operate a charger with a damaged plug or cord. ALWAY S keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Failure to follow these precautions can cause electrocution or electric shock.

DO NOT use the Tria Laser 4X for any purpose

other than hair removal.

The Tria Laser 4X is for personal use. The Tria Laser 4X is not for use in a medical office, clinic, salon or other commercial setting.

DO NOT use the Tria Laser 4X on any area where you may someday want your hair to grow back. The results may be permanent and irreversible.

Viewing the laser output with certain optical instruments (for example eye loupes, magnifiers, and microscopes) within a distance of 100 mm may pose an eye hazard.

No modification of this equipment is allowed.

This device uses RF energy only for its internal function. Therefore, its RF emissions are very low and are not likely to cause any interference in nearby electronic equipment.

BENEFITS AND RISKS

A medically supervised clinical study has shown that the Tria Laser 4X is safe and works when used as directed.

Seventy-nine (79) users performed a 6-week course of treatment (3 treatments) and all side effects were observed. The number of hairs at each treatment site was counted before each treatment and at 1, 2, 3, 6 and 12 months after the last treatment. No additional treatments were performed after the third treatment.

BENEFITS

When used as directed, the Tria Laser 4X gives you permanent results. The results vary from person-to-person and depend on which body area is treated and how closely treatment instructions are followed. The clinical study demonstrated the following benefits:

• 61% average reduction in hair count 3 weeks

after the first treatment

• 70% average reduction in hair count 3 weeks

after the second treatment

• 60% average reduction in hair count 1 month

after the third treatment

• 33% average reduction in hair count 12 months

following the third treatment In the study, 69 of 79 users (87%) reported finer hair at 1 month after the last treatment than before any treatment. And 55 of 79 users (70%) reported lighter hair at 1 month after the last treatment than before any treatment.

These results were obtained with only 3 treatments. For best results, treat every 2 weeks for 3 months or until you are satisfied with the amount of hair reduction.

RISKS

It is important to use the Tria Laser 4X properly. Make sure that you understand and follow all warnings (see pages 5-7). The skin sensor will prevent use of the device on contraindicated skin types (see page 5).

If you use the Tria Laser 4X as directed, the risks are low:

• In the clinical study, almost all users reported

mild to moderate pain or discomfort during their first treatment, with a reduction in sensitivity reported in their later treatments. This is normal. You may feel warmth, burning, tingling or itching; some users described feeling the same level of discomfort as when a rubber band snaps against the skin. If the pain is too intense or persists after a treatment, stop using the Tria Laser 4X and check with your doctor before using it again.

• Your skin may become red right after treatment

or within 24 hours. This redness generally clears up within a few hours. See your doctor if the redness does not go away within 2-3 days.

• In rare cases, some users may see an increase

in the number of hairs in the treated area after the initial treatment. If this increase persists over several treatments, stop using the Tria Laser 4X and see your doctor.

The following symptoms affected no users in the clinical study (0 out of 88) but have been reported with other hair removal lasers:

• Skin swelling, especially around the hair follicle.

If the swelling doesn’t go away within 2-3 days, stop using the Tria Laser 4X and see your doctor.

• Temporary or permanent skin discolouration.

If your skin colour changes, stop using the Tria Laser 4X and see your doctor.

• Blisters. This is very unlikely for people with

a light or medium skin tone. If you do develop a blister, stop using the Tria Laser 4X and don’t let the blister become infected. Consult your doctor if needed.

TRIA LASER TREATMENT OVERVIEW

BEFORE YOUR FIRST TREATMENT

• 6 weeks before your treatment, stop waxing

or plucking hair and do not get a skin peel.

• At least 1 day before treatment, perform a patch

test on your skin (see page 10).

BEFORE EVERY TREATMENT

• Charge your Tria Laser 4X (see page 9).

• Unplug it from the battery charger.

• Cleanse, shave and dry your skin (see page 10).

• Turn on the Tria Laser 4X (see page 11).

• Unlock it with the skin sensor (see page 11).

• Set the treatment level (see page 11).

BETWEEN TREATMENTS

• Shave, but don’t wax or pluck hair.

TREAT UNTIL YOU ’RE DONE

• Be consistent and follow treatment instructions.

• For best results, treat every two weeks for up to

3 months or until you see the desired results.

WHAT TO EXPECT

WHILE USIN G THE TRIA LASER 4X

• The sensation varies, depending on the person,

treatment area and treatment level. Some users may feel the sensation of a rubber band snapping on the skin. Others will feel a warm, prickling sensation.

• As the amount of hair in the treated areas

decreases, the sensation will also decrease. For this reason, you may be able to use a higher treatment level after your initial treatments.

• Some users experience mild redness that goes

away within 24 hours.

DURI NG YOUR FIRST 3 MONTHS OF TREATMENT

• After your first treatment, there will be no visible

change to the hair. Laser hair removal does not cause hair to immediately fall out.

• With additional treatments, there will be a

gradualreduction in the number of hairs with each treatment.

• The hair that does regrow will also begin to

lighten and become finer.

AFTER 3 MONTHS OF TREATMENT

• Hair follicles that have been deactivated by the

Tria Laser 4X will not grow back.

• Do occasional touch-ups or additional treatments

if necessary.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST TREATMENT

CHARG E THE TRIA L ASER 4X

Charge the Tria Laser 4X for at least 2 hours before you use it or anytime the battery indicator is “empty” and blinking. If you are covering a large area or have the Tria Laser 4X set to a high energy level, you may need to charge the Tria Laser 4X in the middle of a treatment. This is normal.

TO CHARGE:

1. Plug the battery charger into the Tria Laser 4X

charger socket and into a power outlet.

2. The battery indicator will show it is “filling up”

while the Tria Laser 4X is charging.

3. Once fully charged, the battery light will stay on

and you may unplug the charger. The Tria Laser 4X can remain plugged in for extended periods of time without damage.

NOTE: To prevent damage to your Tria Laser 4X, use only the included Tria battery charger. If you lose the charger, please contact Customer Service.

NOTE: You may charge the laser in Quiet mode (charges without the sound of cooling fan), but it will take longer. To change charging modes, press the power button while charging.

TEST THE LA SER O N A PATCH OF SK IN

Before your first full treatment on a new area of your body, we recommend you test the Tria Laser 4X on a patch of skin there and try different energy levels.

1. Prepare your skin and unlock the Tria Laser 4X

(see page 10). The Tria Laser 4X will be set to Level 1 (low).

2. Place the treatment window flat against your

skin, and test one laser pulse.

3. If Level 1 was tolerable for you, then move to

another test area and increase to Level 2, testing a patch at that level with one laser pulse. To adjust the Tria Laser 4X setting up or down, press the power button (see page 11).

4. If Level 2 was tolerable for you, change test

locations and increase by one level until you find the highest setting that is still tolerable. Treating at the highest level possible will maximise results.

5. Wait 24 hours and then examine the test areas.

If the skin appears normal, start your first treatment at the highest level you are comfortable using.

Retest your skin if your skin tone changes dramatically (due to tanning).

If you notice blistering, burns, changes in your skin tone or any other side effects, or if you are not sure about the outcome of the test, DO NOT USE your Tria Laser 4X. Contact Customer Service or your doctor.

BEFORE EVERY TREATMENT

PREPAR E YOUR S KIN

1. Cleanse the treatment area, removing all

cosmetics, lotions and creams that may block the laser light.

2. Shave the treatment area. This removes the

surface hair, which improves comfort and allows the light to better reach the hair in the follicle.

3. Dry the treatment area.

UNLOCK THE L ASE R

The Tria Laser 4X will lock when it’s not in use. To unlock the Tria Laser 4X, use the skin sensor, which helps conﬁrm that the Tria laser is safe for your skin tone. To unlock:

1. Unplug the Tria Laser 4X from the battery

charger and press the power button to turn it on. The display will show the lock and skin sensor icons.

2. Hold the skin sensor (red light at the base of

the Tria Laser 4X) against the skin in the area you wish to treat. The skin sensor will automatically sense and check your skin. If the Tria Laser 4X is safe for your skin tone, the Tria Laser 4X will emit a series of beeps and unlock.

3. If the lock icon is still visible and you do not

hear a series of beeps, then it may not be safe for you to use the Tria Laser 4X. Or, you may be using the skin sensor incorrectly and need to try again. To try again, lift the skin sensor from your skin and follow Steps 1 and 2 above. If you still cannot unlock the Tria Laser 4X, please contact Customer Service for assistance.

SET TH E TRE ATMENT LEVEL

The Tria Laser 4X has different energy levels. In a clinical study, higher levels were found to be 2-3 times more effective. So for best results,

we recommend you use the highest setting that you can tolerate.

When the Tria Laser 4X is on and unlocked, press the power button to select your desired level. Each time you press the power button, the level will increase. Once the Tria Laser 4X is at the maximum level, pressing the power button again will return it to the lowest level.

HOW TO TREAT

1. TURN ON THE LASER, U NLOCK IT AND SET THE TREATMENT LEVEL (SEE PAGE 11).

2. TOUCH AND H OLD TH E TREATMENT WINDOW TO THE SKIN UNTIL YOU HEAR TWO BEEPS .

• If you do not hear beeps, make sure that the

treatment window is flat against your skin. The laser will only pulse when the whole window is touching your skin.

• If you hear a buzzing tone instead of the second

beep, you lifted the device from the skin before the pulse was over.

• Do not move the treatment window between

the first and second beep because this will disrupt the laser pulse and reduce its effectiveness.

3. LIFT THE L ASER AND PLACE IT BACK ON THE SKIN SO THAT IT OVE RLA PS THE PR EVIOUS SP OT.

• Each time you reposition the treatment window,

move it about half the distance of the window (about 1/4 inch or 5 mm). This creates an overlapping pattern in the treatment area, which ensures you cover all the hair follicles. This works out to about 25 laser pulses per square inch or 40 pulses per 10 square cm.

DO NOT treat repeatedly in the same spot.

Always move the treatment window to a new area after each laser pulse. Failure to do so may result in discomfort or skin heating, which could cause skin injury.

4. KEEP GOING UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETELY COVERE D THE AREA YOU WANT TO TR EAT.

NOTE: The cooling fan may go on and off during your treatment. This is normal and nothing to worry about.

TAKING CARE OF YOUR TRIA LASER 4X

The Tria Laser 4X doesn’t require special care, but we do recommend that you keep it clean, especially the treatment window and skin sensor.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

• Make sure that the Tria Laser 4X is turned off

and unplug the battery charger from the Tria Laser 4X and the power outlet.

• To clean the Tria Laser 4X and battery charger,

moisten a soft cloth with water and mild soap, and wipe the treatment window and the exterior of the device. Be careful not to damage the treatment window. Allow to dry completely before charging or turning on your Tria Laser 4X.

• To clean the skin sensor located at the base

of the Tria Laser 4X, wipe it gently with a dry, lint-free cloth.

DO NOT get the Tria Laser 4X or battery

charger damp or wet. If it gets wet, DO NOT use the Tria Laser 4X or the battery charger. Contact Customer Service. Performing a treatment with

a wet Tria Laser 4X (or component) can cause electrocution or electric shock.

LONG-TERM STORAGE

If you do not plan on using your device for a long period of time, we recommend that you recharge the device every 3 months to maintain the life of the battery.

RECYCLING/DISPOSAL

The Tria Laser 4X contains lithium batteries that cannot be replaced. To recycle or dispose, please follow the regulations where you live or contact Customer Service for information.

I tried to unlock the Tria Laser 4X, but it’s still locked.

When I reposition the Tria Laser 4X, it seems to take a long time before the next pulse of laser light.

My Tria Laser 4X was working properly, but then it stopped working. The display is off and does not turn on even when I press the power button.

When I’m using my Tria Laser 4X, I can hear a fan working.

¿CÓMO FUNCIONA LA DEPILACIÓN CON LÁSER?

El Láser 4X de Tria desactiva los folículos que producen el vello en la piel. Emite un pulso de luz láser que calienta el pigmento oscuro dentro del vello y desactiva el folículo piloso. Por esa razón puede ofrecer resultados permanentes y funciona sólo en vello castaño natural o negro.

Para ser más eficaz, el Láser 4X de Tria necesita tratar cada folículo piloso durante su período de crecimiento activo. El vello crece en ciclos; por lo tanto, se necesitan múltiples tratamientos. Para obtener mejores resultados, aplica el tratamiento cada dos semanas hasta por 3 meses o hasta que estés conforme con la cantidad de vello reducido.

PARA QUÉ SE UTILIZA EL LÁSER 4X DE TRIA (INDICACIONES)

El Láser de depilación 4X de Tria se utiliza para eliminar el vello no deseado. Es un sistema de venta libre para uso complementario al afeitado para depilación que debe mantenerse con tratamientos periódicos. También está diseñado para la reducción permanente del crecimiento del vello, definida como una reducción a largo plazo y estable, en cuanto al número de vellos que vuelven a crecer al controlar a los 6, 9 y 12 meses después de finalizar el régimen de tratamiento. Está diseñado para uso exclusivo en tonos de piel clara a intermedia (ver la tabla de tono de piel en el interior de la portada) y el vello castaño natural o negro. No funciona en vello blanco, gris, rubio o pelirrojo.

QUIÉN NO DEBE USAR EL LÁSER 4X DE TRIA (CONTRAINDICACIONES)

NO utilices el Láser 4X de Tria si tu tono de piel coincide con uno de los que figuran como “No es seguro” en la tabla de tonos de piel en el interior de la portada de este folleto. Si usas el Láser 4X de Tria en piel sobre la que el uso “No es seguro” para el tratamiento, la piel puede absorber demasiada luz láser y sufrir lesiones (quemaduras, descoloramientos o marcas que dejan cicatriz). Ten en cuenta: El sensor de piel es una característica de seguridad que desbloquea el Láser 4X de Tria. Si el uso del Láser 4X de Tria no es seguro para ti, no podrás desbloquearlo con el sensor de piel.

NO uses el Láser 4X de Tria si eres menor de 18 años ni lo uses en otra persona menor de 18 años. El uso del Láser 4X de Tria en/por parte de menores de edad no ha sido estudiado y podría causar lesiones graves.

NO uses el Láser 4X de Tria si tienes un color de vello más claro, como rubio, blanco, pelirrojo o gris. Para que el láser funcione, debes tener vello naturalmente oscuro donde apliques el tratamiento. Los pigmentos más claros del vello no absorberán suficiente energía láser para desactivar el folículo piloso.

ADVERTENCIAS

NO utilices el Láser 4X de Tria en o alrededor

de los ojos, las cejas o las pestañas. Esto puede producir lesiones oculares permanentes.

NO uses el Láser 4X de Tria si la tabla de

tonos de piel muestra que tu tono de piel no es adecuado. Si eres de origen africano, hindú, indígena o de las islas del Pacífico, es posible que tengas un tono de piel que no sea adecuado; asegúrate de consultar la tabla de tonos de piel. Los tonos de piel más oscuros pueden absorber demasiada luz láser, que puede dañar la piel.

NO uses el Láser 4X de Triacerca de las

orejas, los pezones, los genitales o alrededor del ano. Estas áreas tienen una piel más sensible, un tono de piel más oscuro o una mayor densidad del vello y el uso del Láser 4X de Tria en estas áreas puede causar lesiones graves en la piel.

NO uses el Láser 4X de Tria en el rostro,

mandíbula o cuello de un hombre. En vello del área de la barba en el hombre es muy denso y el uso del Láser 4X de Tria en estas áreas puede ocasionar lesiones en la piel.

La depilación láser puede causar aumento de vello en algunos individuos. Según datos disponibles en la actualidad, los grupos de riesgo más alto para esta respuesta son las mujeres de orígenes en el Mediterráneo,

Oriente Medio y Asia Meridional tratadas en el rostro y el cuello.

NO uses el Láser 4X de Tria en partes de la piel

que sean más oscuras que tu tono de piel habitual: tatuajes, manchas marrones o negras (tales como pecas grandes, marcas de nacimiento o lunares) o piel enrojecida o hinchada por un tratamiento previo. Los tonos de piel oscuros pueden absorber demasiada luz láser, que puede dañar la piel.

NO uses el Láser 4X de Tria en piel dañada,

incluso en heridas abiertas, aftas, quemaduras de sol o zonas donde hayas tenido una exfoliación u otro procedimiento de recubrimiento de la piel en las últimas 6 a 8 semanas (consulta a tu médico). Estas afecciones pueden hacer que la piel sea más propensa a lesiones.

NO uses el Láser 4X de Triasi estás embarazada

o amamantando. El Láser 4X de Tria no ha sido probado en mujeres embarazadas. Los cambios hormonales podrían aumentar la sensibilidad de la piel y el riesgo de lesiones en la piel.

NO uses el Láser 4X de Tria si parece estar

dañado, y NO intentes abrir o reparar el Láser 4X de Tria. Esto aumenta el riesgo de lesiones en la piel o los ojos. Ponte en contacto con el área de Atención a clientes para obtener ayuda. Sigue siempre las precauciones básicas de seguridad para los dispositivos eléctricos: NO mojes o humedezcas

el Láser 4X de Tria o el cargador. NO uses el Láser 4X de Tria mientras te estés bañando ni lo pongas junto a una bañera o lavabo. NO uses el cargador si el cable o enchufe están dañados. SIEMPRE mantén el cable alejado de superficies calientes. No cumplir con estas instrucciones puede causar electrocución o descarga eléctrica.

NO uses el Láser 4X de Tria para ningún

otro fin que no sea el de la depilación.

El Láser 4X de Tria es para uso personal. El Láser 4X de Tria no es para su uso en un consultorio médico, clínica, salón u otro entorno comercial.

NO uses el Láser 4X de Tria en áreas donde algún día desees que el vello vuelva a crecer. Los resultados pueden ser permanentes e irreversibles.

Radiación láser invisible. No la enfoques directamente con instrumentos ópticos. Producto láser clase 1.

Mirar la salida del láser a una distancia de 100 mm con ciertos instrumentos ópticos (por ejemplo lupas oculares, lentes de aumento y microscopios) puede representar un riesgo para los ojos.

No se permite hacer ninguna modificación a este equipo.

Este dispositivo usa energía RF solamente para su función interna, por lo cual las emisiones de RF son muy bajas y no suelen ser causa de interferencia a equipos electrónicos cercanos.

BENEFICIOS Y RIESGOS

Un estudio clínico supervisado médicamente ha demostrado que el Láser 4X de Tria es seguro y funciona cuando se utiliza según las instrucciones.

Setenta y nueve (79) usuarios realizaron un curso de 6 semanas de tratamiento (3 tratamientos) y se observaron todos los efectos secundarios. Se contó el número de vellos en cada sitio por tratar antes de cada tratamiento y a 1, 2, 3, 6 y 12 meses después del último tratamiento. No se realizaron tratamientos adicionales después del tercer tratamiento.

BENEFICIOS

Cuando se utiliza según las instrucciones, el Láser 4X de Tria te da resultados permanentes. Los resultados varían de una persona a otra y dependen del área del cuerpo tratada y de cuán estrictamente se cumplan las instrucciones de tratamiento. El estudio clínico demostró los siguientes beneficios:

• 61% de reducción en promedio en el recuento

capilar 3 semanas después del primer tratamiento.

• 70% de reducción en promedio en el recuento

capilar 3 semanas después del segundo tratamiento.

• 60% promedio de reducción en el recuento capilar

1 mes después del tercer tratamiento.

• 33% de reducción en promedio en el recuento

capilar 12 meses después del tercer tratamiento. En el estudio, 69 de 79 usuarios (87%) registraron vello más fino 1 mes después del último tratamiento que antes de cualquier tratamiento. Y 55 de 79 usuarios (70%) registraron vello más claro 1 mes después del último tratamiento que antes de cualquier tratamiento.

Estos resultados se obtuvieron con sólo 3 tratamientos. Para obtener mejores resultados,

aplica el tratamiento cada 2 semanas durante 3 meses o hasta que estés conforme con

la cantidad de vello reducido.

RIESGOS

Es importante utilizar el Láser 4X de Tria correctamente. Asegúrate de entender y seguir todas las advertencias (ver p. 26). El sensor de piel evitará el uso del aparato en los tipos de piel contraindicados (ver p. 25).

Si se utiliza el Láser 4X de Tria como se indica, los riesgos son bajos:

• En el estudio clínico, casi todos los usuarios

registraron dolor o molestia leve a moderada durante el primer tratamiento, con una reducción en la sensibilidad registrada en sus tratamientos

posteriores. Esto es normal. Puedes sentir calor, ardor, hormigueo o picazón; algunos usuarios describen haber sentido el mismo nivel de molestias como cuando se hace golpear una banda elástica contra la piel. Si el dolor es intenso o persiste después de un tratamiento, deja de usar el Láser 4X de Tria y consulta a tu médico antes de usarlo otra vez.

• La piel puede enrojecerse inmediatamente después

del tratamiento o dentro de las siguientes 24 horas. Este enrojecimiento por lo general desaparece en unas horas. Consulta a tu médico si la irritación no desaparece en 2-3 días.

• En casos raros, algunos usuarios pueden registrar

un aumento del número de vellos en la zona tratada después del tratamiento inicial. Si este aumento persiste después de varios tratamientos, deja de usar el Láser 4X de Tria y consulta a tu médico.

Los siguientes síntomas no afectaron a ningún usuario en el estudio clínico (0 de 88), pero se han registrado con otros sistemas láser para depilación:

• Hinchazón de la piel, especialmente alrededor

del folículo piloso. Si la hinchazón no desaparece en 2-3 días, suspende el uso del Láser 4X de Tria y consulta a tu médico.

• Descoloramiento temporal o permanente de

la piel. Si la piel cambia de color, deja de usar el Láser 4X de Tria y consulta a tu médico.

• Ampollas. Esto es muy poco probable para las

personas con tono de piel clara o intermedia.

Si se forma una ampolla, deja de usar el Láser 4X de Tria y no dejes que la ampolla se infecte. Consulta a tu médico si es necesario.

RESUMEN DEL TRATAMIENTO CON EL LÁSER 4X DE TRIA

ANTES DEL PRIME R TRATAMIE NTO

• 6 semanas antes del tratamiento, suspende

la depilación con cera o pinza de depilar y no te hagas una exfoliación de la piel.

• Por lo menos 1 día antes del tratamiento, realiza

una prueba de parche sobre la piel (ver p. 30)

ANTES DE CADA TRATAMIENTO

• Carga el Láser 4X de Tria (ver p. 30).

• Desenchúfalo del cargador.

• Limpia, afeita y seca la piel (ver p. 31).

• Enciende el Láser 4X de Tria (ver p. 31).

• Desbloquéalo con el sensor de piel (ver p. 31).

• Fija el nivel de tratamiento (ver p. 32).

ENTRE TRATAMIENTOS

• Aféitate, pero no te depiles con cera o pinza

de depilar.

APLIC A EL TR ATAMIENTO HASTA TER MINAR

• Se constante y sigue las instrucciones del tratamiento.

• Para obtener mejores resultados, aplica el tratamiento

cada dos semanas durante hasta 3 meses o hasta que obtengas el resultado deseado.

QUÉ ESPERAR

DURANTE EL USO DEL LÁ SER 4X DE TRIA

• La sensación varía dependiendo de la persona,

el área de tratamiento y el nivel del tratamiento. Algunos usuarios pueden tener la sensación de una banda elástica que golpea contra la piel. Otros, una sensación cálida o cosquilleo.

• A medida que la cantidad de vello de las zonas

tratadas disminuye, la sensación también disminuirá. Por esta razón, es posible que puedas utilizar un nivel de tratamiento más alto después de los tratamientos iniciales.

• Algunos usuarios experimentan un leve

enrojecimiento que desaparece en 24 horas.

DURANTE LOS PRIM EROS 3 MESES DE TRATAMIENTO

• Después del primer tratamiento, no habrá ningún

cambio visible en el vello. La depilación láser no produce la caída inmediata del vello.

• Con los tratamientos adicionales, habrá una reducción

gradual del número de vellos después de cada sesión.

• El vello que vuelve a crecer también comenzará

a aclararse y a volverse más fino.

DESPUÉS D E 3 MESES DE TRATAMIENTO

• Los folículos pilosos desactivados por el Láser 4X

de Tria ya no volverán a crecer.

• De vez en cuando, puedes hacer retoques o

tratamientos adicionales si es necesario.

ANTES DEL PRIMER TRATAMIENTO

CARGA EL LÁSER 4X TRIA

Carga el Láser 4X de Tria durante al menos 2 horas antes de usarlo o cada vez que el indicador de batería muestre que está “vacía” y parpadeando. Si estás cubriendo un área grande o se fijó el Láser 4X de Tria a un nivel de potencia alto, deberás cargar el Láser 4X de Tria en medio de un tratamiento. Esto es normal.

PARA CARGAR:

1. Enchufa el cargador de la batería en el conector

del Láser 4X de Tria y en un tomacorriente.

2. El indicador de batería mostrará que se está

“llenando” mientras se carga el Láser 4X de Tria.

3. Una vez que esté completamente cargado, la luz

de la batería permanecerá encendida y podrás desconectar el cargador. El Láser 4X de Tria puede permanecer enchufado durante períodos prolongados sin sufrir daños.

NOTA: Para evitar daños al Láser 4X de Tria, utiliza solamente el cargador Tria incluido. Si pierdes el cargador, ponte en contacto con el área de Atención a clientes.

NOTA: Puedes cargar el láser en modo silencioso (carga sin el ruido del ventilador), pero demorará más. Para cambiar los modos de carga, pulsa el botón de encendido mientras se está cargando.

PRUE BA EL L ÁSE R EN UN ÁREA PEQUEÑA DE PIEL

Antes del primer tratamiento completo en una nueva zona del cuerpo, te recomendamos probar el Láser 4X de Tria en un área pequeña de piel y probar diferentes niveles de potencia.

1. Prepara la piel y desbloquea el Láser 4X de Tria

(ver p. 31). El Láser 4X de Tria se fijará en el Nivel 1 (bajo).

2. Coloca la ventana de tratamiento contra la piel

y prueba con un pulso de láser.

3. Si el Nivel 1 fue tolerable, pasa a otra área de

prueba y aumenta al Nivel 2, prueba una sección a ese nivel con un pulso de láser. Para configurar el Láser 4X de Tria a un nivel alto o bajo, pulsa el botón de encendido (ver p. 31).

4. Si el Nivel 2 fue tolerable, cambia la ubicación

de prueba y aumenta un nivel hasta encontrar

la posición más alta que puedas tolerar. El tratamiento al nivel más alto posible maximiza los resultados.

5. Espera 24 horas y luego examina las áreas de

prueba. Si la piel tiene aspecto normal, comienza tu primer tratamiento al nivel más alto aceptable.

Reexamina tu piel si el tono cambia notablemente (por bronceado).

Si notas ampollas, quemaduras, cambios en el tono de la piel o cualquier otro efecto secundario, o si no estás segura de los resultados de la prueba, NO USES el Láser 4X de Tria. Ponte en contacto con el área de Atención a clientes o consulta a tu médico.

ANTES DE CADA TRATAMIENTO

PREPAR A TU PIEL

1. Limpia el área de tratamiento quitando todos

los cosméticos, lociones y cremas que puedan bloquear la luz del láser.

2. Afeita el área de tratamiento. Esto elimina el vello

superficial, lo que mejora el confort y permite que la luz alcance mejor el vello en el folículo.

3. Seca el área de tratamiento.

DESB LOQU EA EL LÁSER

El Láser 4X de Tria se bloqueará cuando no esté en uso. Para desbloquear el Láser 4X de Tria, utiliza el sensor de piel, que ayuda a conﬁrmar que el láser de Tria es seguro para tu tono de piel. Para desbloquear:

1. Desenchufa el Láser 4X de Tria del cargador

y pulsa el botón de encendido para prenderlo. La pantalla mostrará los iconos de bloqueo y del sensor de la piel.

2. Mantén el sensor (luz roja en la base del Láser

4X de Tria) de la piel sobre la piel en el área que desees tratar. El sensor de piel automáticamente detecta y comprueba tu piel. Si el Láser 4X de Tria es seguro para tu tono de piel, emitirá una serie de sonidos de alerta y se desbloqueará.

3. Si todavía se ve el icono del candado y no oyes

una serie de sonidos de alerta, puede que no sea seguro utilizar el Láser 4X de Tria. O puede ser que estés usando el sensor de piel incorrectamente y necesites volver a intentarlo. Para intentarlo de nuevo, levanta el sensor de piel de tu piel y sigue los pasos 1 y 2 anteriores. Si todavía no puedes desbloquear el Láser 4X de Tria, ponte en contacto con el área de Atención a clientes para obtener asistencia.

DETERMIN ACIÓN DEL NIV EL DE TR ATAMIENTO

El Láser 4X de Tria tiene diferentes niveles de potencia. En un estudio clínico, se halló que los niveles más altos fueron 2-3 veces más eficaces. Por lo tanto, para obtener mejores resultados,

recomendamos utilizar la configuración máxima que puedas tolerar.

Cuando el Láser 4X de Tria esté encendido y desbloqueado, pulsa el botón de encendido para seleccionar el nivel deseado. Cada vez que pulses el botón de encendido, aumentará el nivel. Una vez que el Láser 4X de Tria está en el nivel máximo, si pulsas el botón de encendido otra vez volverá al nivel más bajo.

CÓMO APLICAR EL TRATAMIENTO

1. ENCI ENDE EL LÁSER , DESBLOQ UÉA LO Y FIJA EL NIV EL DE TRATAMIENTO (VER P. 31-32)

2. TOCA Y SOSTÉN LA VENTANA DE TRATAMIENTO SOBRE LA PIEL HASTA OÍR DOS SONIDOS AGUDOS DE ALERTA

• Si no oyes los sonidos de alerta, asegúrate de

que la ventana de tratamiento esté plana sobre la piel. El láser sólo parpadea cuando la ventana entera toca la piel.

• Si oyes un tono de zumbido en lugar del segundo

sonido de alerta, significa que has levantado el dispositivo de la piel antes de terminar el pulso. No muevas la ventana de tratamiento entre la primera y la segunda señal porque esto interrumpirá el pulso del láser y reducirá su eficacia.

3. LEVANTA EL LÁSE R Y COLÓCALO SOBRE LA PIEL DE M ODO QUE SU PERPONGA EL PUNTO ANTERIOR

• Cada vez que vuelvas a posicionar la ventana

de tratamiento, muévela aproximadamente a la mitad de la distancia de la ventana (aprox. 1/4 de pulgada o 5 mm).Esto crea un patrón de superposición en el área de tratamiento, que asegura que se cubran todos los folículos pilosos. Esto equivale a unos 25 pulsos láser por pulgada cuadrada o 40 pulsos por 10 cm cuadrados.

NO trates el mismo lugar repetidamente.

Siempre mueve la ventana de tratamiento a una nueva área después de cada pulso de láser. Si no lo haces así, pueden producirse molestias o calentamiento de la piel, lo que podría causar lesiones en la piel.

CUIDADO DEL LÁSER 4X DE TRIA

El Láser 4X de Tria no requiere cuidados especiales, pero recomendamos conservarlo limpio, especialmente la ventana de tratamiento y el sensor de piel.

INSTRUCCIONES DE LIMPIEZA

• Asegúrate de que el Láser 4X de Tria esté

apagado y desconectado del cargador y el tomacorriente.

• Para limpiar el Láser 4X de Tria y el cargador,

humedece un paño suave con agua y un jabón suave, y limpia la ventana de tratamiento y el exterior del dispositivo. Ten cuidado de no dañar la ventana de tratamiento. Deja que se seque completamente antes de cargar o encender el Láser 4X de Tria.

• Para limpiar el sensor de piel ubicado en la base

del Láser 4X de Tria, frótalo suavemente con un paño seco y sin pelusa.

NO mojes o humedezcas el Láser 4X de Tria

o el cargador. Si se moja, NO uses el Láser 4X de Tria ni el cargador. Contacta al área de Atención a clientes. Realizar un tratamiento con un Láser

4X de Tria (o un componente) mojado puede causar electrocución o descarga eléctrica.

ALMACENAMIENTO PROLONGADO

Si no vas a utilizar el aparato durante un período largo, recomendamos recargar el dispositivo cada 3 meses para mantener la vida de la batería.

RECICLAJE/DESECHO

El Láser 4X de Tria contiene pilas de litio que no pueden ser reemplazadas. Para reciclarlas o desecharlas, cumple con las normas locales o ponte en contacto con el área de Atención a clientes para obtener información.

Cuando estoy cargando mi Láser 4X de Tria, el indicador de batería en la pantalla no se “llena.”

Incluso después de cargar el Láser 4X de Tria, el indicador de la batería sigue “llenándose.”

Al poner el Láser 4X de Tria sobre la piel, no pasa nada.

Cuando estoy usando mi Láser 4X de Tria, puedo oír el ruido del ventilador.

Puede que no sea seguro para ti usar el Láser 4X de Tria.

Compara tu tono de piel con la Tabla de tonos de piel en el interior de la portada de este folleto y ponte en contacto con el área de Atención a clientes si tienes dudas.

COMMENT FONCTIONNE L’ÉPILATION AU LASER ?

Le Laser 4X de Tria désactive les follicules dans la peau qui produisent des poils. Il émet une impulsion laser qui chauffera les pigments foncés à l'intérieur du poil et qui désactivera le follicule pileux. C'est la raison pour laquelle il offre des résultats permanents et ne fonctionne que sur un poil naturellement brun ou noir.

Pour être le plus efficace possible, le Laser 4X de Tria doit traiter chaque follicule pileux pendant la période de croissance active. Le poil poussant selon des cycles, il est donc nécessaire de faire plusieurs traitements. Pour obtenir des résultats optimaux, traitez la zone toutes les deux semaines pendant un maximum de 3 mois ou jusqu'à une réduction de poils satisfaisante.
