T-Rex Alberta II User Manual

USER MANUAL
CONGRATULATIONS
on your purchase of the Alberta II, a new version of our vintage overdrive pedal that gives you two channels of classic T-Rex drive tones.
Now you got the opportunity to get two Albertas in one box!
The Alberta II lets you adjust the two channels independently, so you can go from your clean sound to a rhythm overdrive and then switch channels for a more overdriven or louder sound. You can also adjust the two channels to the same gain and volume levels, but with different tone settings. For each channel on the Alberta II, you’ve got complete control over gain, tone and level, so be sure to review the overview of the controls in this manual. Rock on!
ALBERTA II CONTROLS
Your Alberta II has 4 controls for each channel: GAIN, LEVEL, TONE and FAT BOOST.
The GAIN knob is the most important control on your Alberta II. The more you crank it up, the more gain you get. The two channels gives you the opportunity to switch between two types of great overdrive.
Use the LEVEL knob to set the overall output volume from the pedal. At 12 o’clock your output is the same as your input volume. Turning it all the way up (clockwise) will boost your output signal by 15 dB.
The TONE knob lets you control the top end, or “bite” of your signal, without compromising sonic quality. Try setting it separately for each channel to create your own signature overdrive sounds.
Use the FAT BOOST switch to select between low-end boost (FAT) and standard mode. (This switch will boost the lower frequencies, similar to going from a 2X12 cabinet to a 4X12 cabinet).
Pressing the left footswitch activates channel 1, pressing the right footswitch activates channel 2. Note that the two channels can not be activated at the same time.
To go into bypass/off mode, step on the footswitch for the activated channel.
NOTE:
Channel 2 has been redesigned to have a bit more punch and a little less compression. The difference between the channels is subtle, but there is a small change in perceived gain, tone, feel and volume if the controls are set identically to those on channel 1.
