- Use the kettle only with the supplied base unit. Do not use the base unit for other purposes.
- If the main cord of this kettle is damaged, it must be replaced by an authorized person before
further use.
- The auto cut off protects the kettle from being damaged when operated with insufficient wat e r. Power cuts off when the heating gets too hot.
- Place the appliance on a stable flat surface. Ensure that the base unit and the kettle do not fall into water and that no water can be splashed onto the base unit.
- Never immerse the kettle or the base unit in wate r. Do not allow water to penetrate the
electrical parts inside the kettle or the base unit.

kettle may not automatically switch off.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced before further use.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

1. Filling

- Fill the kettle with water to the desired level. Do not fill beyond the “MAX” level mark as
water may spill out.
- Do not fill with less than 0.4 litre of water (or below the “MIN” mark) to prevent the kettle
running dry while operating.
- Do not forget to close the lid after filling. Otherwise the kettle will not automatically switch off
after use.

damage the operating mechanism.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
1. Cleaning
- The kettle may be cleaned with a damp cloth.
- Soap or detergent can be used to remove troublesome stains. Do not use aggressive and
abrasive agents.
2. Filter line scale filter
- To prevent loose particles of lime scale being poured out into your beverage, your kettle is
fitted with a nylon scale filler.

3. Lime scale deposits
- Lime scale is a calcareous deposit, which naturally forms when water is heated.
- It can be found mostly adhered to the heating element.
- Lime scale is not harmful to your health but if poured into your beverage it can give a
powdery taste to your drink.
- The scale filter is designed to prevent these scale particles from being poured out by trapping
them within the kettle.
4. Cleaning the scale filter
- To avoid an excessive amount of lime scale building up inside your kettle, it is important that
both the kettle and filter are cleaned on a regular basis.
- Scale can be removed from the filter by running it under a tap whilst gently brushing with a
soft nylon brush, or by soaking the filter in vinegar or a proper descaling agent.
5. Descaling
Do this to properly clean and deodorize the kettle (with normal use at least twice a year).
- Fill the kettle up to ’MAX’ with a mixture of one part ordinary vinegar and two parts water. Switch on
and wait for the appliance to switch off automatically.
- Let the mixture stand overnight.
- Throw the mixture away the next morning.
- Fill the kettle with clean water up to ‘MAX’ and boil again.
- Throw away this boiled water to remove any remaining scale and vinegar. Rinse the inside of the kettle
with clean water.
