1. Before You Start

2. Hardware Installation
1. Connect the Power Cord to the TEG-S224 and then to a power outlet.
2. Connect a CAT-5e or CAT-6 RJ-45 network cable from the computer to an available Ethernet port on the TEG-S224.

The Switch can be mounted in an EIA standard-size, 19-inch rack, which can be placed in a wiring closet with other equipment.
3. Attach the mounting brackets to both sides of the switch and secure them with the provided screws.
4. Carefully position the switch onto
the rack. Align the bracket to the screw holes on the rack, then use the screws provided with the equipment rack to mount the switch.

Troubleshooting
After connecting the Switch to a power outlet, the LEDs do not turn on.

Check the connection of the power adapter to the TEG-S224 and the power

outlet. Also check that the power outlet is receiving power.
When I connect a computer to the Switch port, the LINK/ACT LED turns on,

but the 1000Mbps LED remains off.
First, check the Ethernet Cable. Make sure you are using CAT-5e or CAT-6

Ethernet Cables. Some CAT-5 cables are not rated to run in Gigabit. Second, make sure that you have a Gigabit Ethernet Adapter installed on your computer.
After I connect my PCs to the Switch, I am unable to share files.

First, check the LEDs on the Switch. Make sure the LINK/ACT LED is on.

Second, check the network cable. The minimum length of the cable is 1.5 meters and the maximum length of the cable is 100 meters. Third, disable any software f firewall program. Fourth, verify that you have file sharing enabled. Please contact your operating system provider for more information.
After I connect my PCs to the Switch, I can only get onto the Internet from one

The Switch was not designed to share Internet between multiple computers.

You need to install an Internet router such as the TRENDnet TW100-S4W1CA.

Limited Warranty
TRENDnet warrants its products against defects in material and workmanship, under normal use and service, for the following lengths of time from the date of purchase.
TEG-S224
If a product does not operate as warranted above during the applicable warranty period, TRENDnet shall, at its option and expense, repair the defective product or deliver to customer an equivalent product to replace the defective item. All products that are replaced will become the property of TRENDnet. Replacement products may be new or reconditioned.
TRENDnet shall not be responsible for any software, firmware, information, or memory data of customer contained in, stored on, or integrated with any products returned to TRENDnet pursuant to any warranty.
There are no user serviceable parts inside the product. Do not remove or attempt to service the product through any unauthorized service center. This warranty is voided if (i) the product has been modified or repaired by any unauthorized service center, (ii) the product was subject to accident, abuse, or improper use (iii) the product was subject to conditions more severe than those specified in the manual.
Warranty service may be obtained by contacting TRENDnet office within the applicable warranty period for a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number, accompanied by a copy of the dated proof of the purchase. Products returned to TRENDnet must be pre­authorized by TRENDnet with RMA number marked on the outside of the package, and sent prepaid, insured and packaged appropriately for safe shipment.

TRENDNET SHALL NOT BE LIABLE UNDER THIS WARRANTY IF ITS TESTING AND EXAMINATION DISCLOSE THAT THE ALLEGED DEFECT IN THE PRODUCT DOES NOT EXIST OR WAS CAUSED BY CUSTOMER’S OR ANY THIRD PERSON’S MISUSE, NEGLECT, IMPROPER INSTALLATION OR TESTING, UNAUTHORIZED ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR OR MODIFY, OR ANY OTHER CAUSE BEYOND THE RANGE OF THE INTENDED USE, OR BY ACCIDENT, FIRE, LIGHTNING, OR OTHER HAZARD.
