amount of maintenance. Continual satisfactory
operation depends upon proper tool
care and regular cleaning.

n Your accessory requires no additional

may require lubrication to fit onto guide
bush.
Storage
n Always return product to its packaging after
use, or hang on a wall hook

disposing as waste.
Packaging should be sorted for
environmental-friendly recycling. The product
and its accessories at the end of its life should
be sorted for environmental-friendly recycling.

Safety Points
1. Disconnect power tool and attachment from power supply
when not in use, before servicing, when making adjustments
and when changing accessories such as cutters. Ensure
switch is in “off” position. Always ensure cutter has stopped
rotating.
2. Read and understand instructions supplied with power tool,
attachment and cutter.
3. Current Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for eye, ear
and respiratory protection must be worn. Keep hands, hair
and clothes clear of the cutter.
4. Before each use check cutter is sharp and free from damage.
Do not use if cutter is dull, broken or cracked or if any
damage is noticeable or suspected.
5. The maximum speed (nmax) marked on tool or in instructions
or on packaging shall not be exceeded. Where stated, the
speed range should be adhered to.
6. Insert the shank into the router collet at least all the way to
the marked line indicated on the shank. This ensures at least
3/4 of shank length is held in collet. Ensure clamping surfaces
are clean.
7. Check all fixing and fastening nuts, bolts and screws on
power tool, attachment and cutting tools are correctly
assembled, tight and to correct torque setting before use.
8. Ensure all visors, guards and dust extraction is fitted.
9. The direction of routing must always be opposite to the
cutter’s direction of rotation.
10. Do not switch power tool on with the cutter touching the
workpiece.
11. Trial cuts should be made in waste material before starting
any project.
12. Repair of tools is only allowed according to tool
manufacturers instructions.
13. Do not take deep cuts in one pass, take several shallow
passes to reduce the side load applied to the cutter.

This accessory is intended to be used with a
plunge router with the included router cutter
and guide bush/collar fitted to rout a pocket
and plug in timber to disguise resin pockets
and knots.

The material being cut along with the
template/Jig will need to be supported and
clamped securely. Ensure that the router base
will not foul the clamps.
Keep proper footing and balance at
all times.
As templates are made of clear plastic please
be aware of possible glare.
Regularly check fixing screws are tight.

OPERATION
The template will need to be used on a
component that is a suitable size to ensure
template is supported properly and that
component and template can be clamped
securely.
Setting up the Router
n Ensure router is isolated from power before
making any adjustments.
Fit the 20mm guide bush to the router using
n
screws supplied.
Slide20mm to40mmcollaronto the20mm
n
bush spigot with a twisting action, ensure
the chamfered edge is towards the bush
plate.LubricatetheOring ifrequired.
n Fit the 10mm diameter router cutter into
router.
Routing the Pocket
Place template over knot or blemish on the
workpiece. Clamp securely with two clamps
ensuringtheywillnotfoulrouterpath.Setcutter
depth, either to the thickness of repair material
or between 4 - 5mm.
Locate 40mm collar in template aperture, switch
on router, plunge down and lock plunge lever/
knob rout in a clockwise direction.
When this is complete then rout out the centre
oftheaperturetomakeaatbottomedrecess.
Release plunge and switch off router. Remove
clamps from template and workpiece.
Frequently check the guide bush collar is
seated properly on the guide bush and has
not worked loose.
Routing the Plug
For the plug choose material with similar grain
pattern and use double sided tape to secure
ittoasacricialpieceofmaterial.Thedouble
sided tape should be positioned under the plug.
Position template and clamp securely ensuring
the clamps will not foul router path. Remove the
40mm collar from 20mm guide bush.
Re-set the plunge depth of cutter to cut about
1mm deeper than plug thickness. Position
20mm guide bush in template aperture, switch
on router and plunge cut to set depth, rout in
a clockwise direction ensuring guide bush is
against template edge at all times. Take care
when completing the cut to ensure the plug
doesnotcomeloose.Whennishedreleased
plunge, switch off router and remove. Unclamp
template and remove plug. Glue plug into
pocket and when dry use the template again,
set cutter depth so it is slightly above the timber
surfaceandroutoverpluguntilush.
Then sand until smooth.
