Scott Douglas began his racing career when he and brother Steve purchased an old
Ford F-150 race truck off a used car lot in 1980. The Douglas brothers entered it in
the Baja 500 and not only nished, but posted a fth-place nish in Class 8.
In 1990, Walker Evans tapped Scott to pilot a factory-backed Jeep
®
Cherokee.
The result was a class championship. Scott then moved to a Dodge
®
factory ride
and won championships in the SCORE, HDRA, and BITD series. In the mid-1990s,
Scott was a dominant force in the Short-Course Off-Road Drivers Association
(SODA) series. He moved to Pro 4WD in 1996, winning the championship
for Rampage Racing. He repeated the feat in 1997 and also won the
BorgWarner
®
Cup. In 2006, Scott teamed up with Pro Fab Motorsports
and AMSOIL
®
to win another Borg Warner Cup. 2007 saw numerous wins
and a second-place nish overall for the season in Pro 4WD. In 2008, Scott
Douglas and Bill Smith of Pro Fab designed and built a new F-150 tuned by
chief mechanic Jason Schampers. Scott quickly turned the new truck into a
competitive force on the track propelling
him into the top 3 in the 2008
point standings.
Mike Oberg kicked off his off-road racing career in 1993 behind the wheel of a used
buggy, but he soon built a stock truck and ran both classes—sometimes jumping
out of the buggy at the nish line to suit up in the truck back at the start! By 1997,
Mike was racing his truck full-time and took the Short-course Off-road Drivers
Association (SODA) Stock Truck championship, winning ve of the eight races
in the series. 1998 saw Mike win the Sportsman Stock Truck crown, and in 2001,
Mike earned the Sportsman 2WD championship title. For the 2002 season,
Mike partnered with Amsoil
®
to run in the Sportsman 2WD class and made the move
to Pro 2WD in 2006 with a brand new truck. The team worked hard to bring
the new machine up to speed, and Mike moved up steadily in points to
nish second, just two points behind rst place. But Mike’s
biggest win was yet to come — a rousing last-lap, come-
from-behind victory in the Jason Baldwin Memorial
Race. In 2007, Mike nished second in the WSORR
series and added a full championship racing schedule
in 2008. With over 40 wins in ve classes and four
championship rings in four different classes at the
legendary Crandon International Off-Road Raceway,
you can count on seeing many more wins from
Mike Oberg.
