We welcome you as a new owner of a Ring of Fire, built-in gas fired, illuminated water fountain. This manual will explain the installation, operation, and maintenance of this unique water fountain. Please familiarize yourself with the Owner's Manual before operating your fountain and save the manual for future reference. Included are helpful hints and suggestions that will make the operation and maintenance of your new fountain an easier and more enjoyable experience. We offer our continual support and guidance to help you achieve the maximum enjoyment from your fountain.

Important Information

No other Ring of Fire has the same serial number as yours. The serial number is on the label plate attached to the appliance.

This serial number will be needed in case you require service of any type.

Safety Precautions

• IF YOU SMELL GAS:

* Call gas supplier, if not reached, call fire department

• This unit must be installed and repaired by a qualified installer to prevent the possibility of an explosion. Your dealer will know the requirements in your area and can inform you of those people considered qualified. The Ring of Fire should be inspected before use and at least annually by a qualified service person. More frequent cleaning may be required due to excessive debris from leaves, dirt, insects, etc.

• The instructions in this manual must be strictly adhered to. Do not use makeshift methods or compromise in the installation. Improper installation will void the warranty and safety listing.

• Contact your local building officials to obtain a permit and information on any installation restrictions or inspection requirements in your area.

• It is imperative that fountain be kept clean and free of leaves and debris. This is necessary for low maintenance and safe operation.

• This appliance is either approved for natural gas (NG) or for propane (LP). Burning the incorrect fuel will void the warranty and safety listing and may cause an extreme safety hazard. Direct questions about the type of fuel used to your dealer. Check the gas type screw. If the end marked LP is screwed into the valve, the end with the red band, it is for LP. The red marking is visible with the plastic end cap in place.

• If the flame becomes sooty, dark orange in color, or extremely tall, do not operate the fountain. Call your dealer and arrange for proper servicing.

• Do not operate the fountain if it is not operating properly in any fashion or if you are uncertain. Call your dealer for a full explanation of your

fountain and what to expect.

• Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable liquids in

• Do not operate if any portion of the controls were submerged in water or if any corrosion occurs.

• Do not get the controls wet. Be careful not to spray or splash water into the control area.

This Manual

• Do not place clothing or other flammable items on or near the fountain. This fountain is controlled remotely, therefore, there is a possibility of the fountain turning on and igniting any items placed on or near it.

• Only use clean cold tap water in the fountain. Do not add any liquids or chemicals into the water not specified in this manual.

• Any screen or guard removed for servicing must be replaced prior to operating the fountain.

• Operate the fountain according to the instructions included in this manual.

• If the burner does not start correctly turn the gas off at the gas control valve and call your dealer for service.

• This appliance is not for use with solid fuel.

• Do not use this appliance to cook food.

• Do not place anything on the fountain, other than the decorative beads and rocks provided by the manufacturer.

• Instruct everyone in the house how to shut gas off to the fountain and at the gas main shutoff valve. The gas main shutoff valve is usually next to the gas meter or propane tank and requires a wrench to shut off.

• Do not throw this manual away. This manual has important operating and maintenance instructions that you will need at a later time. Always follow the instructions in this manual.

• The fountain has an automatic spark ignition system. Do not use matches or any other external device to light your fountain.

• Never remove, replace, modify or substitute any part of the fountain unless

instructions are given in this

manual. A trained technician must do all other work. Don't modify or replace orifices.

• Allow the fountain to cool and disconnect electrical power before carrying out any maintenance or cleanin

• Educate all children and adults of the dangers of the fountain. Young children should be supervised when they are in the same area as the fountain.

• Do not let children play with the fountain.

• Electrical supply to fountain must be protected by a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI).

• Electrical connections must conform to local and national electrical codes for outdoor electrical appliances.

• Do not operate the fountain during a lightening storm or a possible lightening storm.

• Do not operate the fountain during high wind conditions.

• Do not install in or on recreational vehicles and/or boats.

Ring of Fire Placement Requirements

For Outdoor Use Only. Install in well-ventilated areas.

Do Not Locate the Fountain:

! In high traffic areas. The water splashing from the fountain will cause the floor around

the appliance to be wet. A potential slipping hazard.

! Under or near trees, plants and buildings where debris may constantly fall into the

fountain. Excessive debris will require high maintenance and/or cause malfunctioning of the fountain.

! In places where people, children, and pets will trip or fall into the fountain. Guards and

fences around the fountain in these locations are recommended.

! In places where the controls beneath the fountain may be submerged under water.

Submerging of any part of its controls will require complete replacement of the controls. It is preferred that the appliance be installed above ground and away from potential flood areas.

! In places where large amount of heat, steam, and water splash will cause damage to

building structures, trees, plants, etc.

Recommended Fountain Location:

• In places where the area or enclosure under the appliance is well ventilated and away from electrical sparks or any other potential ignition source. This is to allow proper operation of the appliance and to prevent dangerous accumulation of fuel gases in case of a gas leak.

• On a level surface capable of supporting the fountain.

• In places where there is good drainage and proper waterproofing in the area surrounding

and beneath the fountain. Make sure water does not collect at the base of the fountain, especially near the control area.

Electrical Requirements & Precautions:

• Do not locate lighting fixtures directly above the fountain.

• Lighting and electrical receptacles must be located at least 5ft from the fountain. Lighting

and electrical receptacles located between 5 and 10ft from the fountain must be on a circuit protected by a GFCI. Refer to National Electrical Code, 680-6. Do not use electrical connected devices, such as telephone, radio, television, lights or cooking devices within 5ft of the fountain when it is being used.

• All fixed metal objects located within 5ft of the fountain, such as railings, door frames, fence posts, building structure, gutters, etc., must be properly grounded to the fountain. Check your local building code for requirements.

Clearances:

Keep combustibles away from the shaded heat zone of the fountain.

Keep objects or surfaces you do not want to get wet away from the splash zone of the fountain.

Splash zone varies with the height of the water spray. With a 2ft water spray height, the splash radius is approximately 3ft from the fountain. With a 1½ft spray height, the splash radius is approximately 1ft from the fountain.

A Typical Above Deck Installation

A Basic Box Enclosure with Minimum Dimensions

WARNING:

The fountain should be lifted by the tub or reservoir body– never lift the fountain by

its components.

Recommended Minimum Service Access

Place a minimum 12” high, 20” wide access hatch adjacent the controls and a 36” X 32” clear area in front of the hatch for service and general maintenance.

The above enclosure specifications allow for maximum simplicity and serviceability. There are endless possibilities in shape and material used for building the enclosure. As long as the dimensions on page 6, Dimensions, are observed, the fountain enclosure can be round, hexagonal, octagon, etc.

Some of the suitable weather-resistant materials that can be used to construct the enclosure are treated wood, tile, bricks, stone, concrete, glass and many more. Enclosure construction method and fasteners should also be weather-resistant.

In enclosures with limited service access, it is recommenced that additional 6 ft lengths of gas, electric and water lines be place inside the fountain. With the extra ‘slack’ in the lines, the fountain can be serviced by lifting it up and out of its mounting hole. Without the water and decorative stone or glass beads, the fountain weights less than 60 lbs. It is recommended that two people lift the fountain out of its mounting hole.

For best fountain appearance and performance, make sure the fountain is installed in a leveled enclosure.

Place at lease 6 square inches of vent/drain hole at the lowest points of the enclosure. This will provide ventilation for the proper functioning of the fountain and the drainage of any accumulation of water.

Some Possible Fountain Enclosures

Drainage and Air Space Requirements

Make sure the area surrounding the fountain enclosure has good drainage to keep water from collecting at the base of the enclosure, especially near the control area. If drainage is poor, install a drain line and/or gravel drain field.

! To insure proper burning characteristics, all enclosures must allow a minimum 6 square

inches of air flow to the area beneath the fountain. If using a pedestal on a concrete surface, a 1/8” gap between the pedestal and floor will provide adequate air flow (use stainless steel washers to elevate the pedestal if necessary).

Utilities must be routed underground. Electrical supply must be protected from inadvertent damage by depth of burial or installation in protective conduit – consult your local building code for appropriate methods. The gas supply must have a shut-off valve for the fountain. See “Gas Line Connection” for details.

A Typical On Deck Installation

The fountain mounting hole on the deck consists of a 34 ½” diameter circular cutout. Be sure to properly reinforce the deck after cutting out the hole. Make sure there is adequate space under the deck for service and general maintenance. It is recommended that guards or fences be placed around the fountain to prevent people, children, and pets from tripping and falling into the fountain. The fountain is not designed to sustain the weight of heavy objects falling in. Damage under these circumstances is not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

For best fountain appearance and performance, make sure the deck on which the fountain is installed is leveled.

It is preferred that the appliance be installed above ground and away from potential flood areas. If the fountain is installed below grade, make sure the area surrounding the fountain has good drainage to keep water from collecting. If drainage is poor, install a drain line and/or gravel drain field. Submerging of any part of its controls will require complete replacement of the controls. Damage under these circumstances is not cover by the manufacturer’s warranty.

Gas Line Requirements

! The gas line must be installed in accordance with all local codes or, in the absence of

local codes, with the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1. Consult your local gas supplier or propane gas dealer for code regulations and recommended procedures.

! The fountain and gas control valve must be disconnected from the gas supply piping

during any pressure testing of that system at test pressures in excess of 1/2 psig. For pressures less than 1/2 psig, isolate the gas supply piping by closing the manual shut-off valve.

! Leak test all gas line joints and the gas control valve prior to and after starting the

fountain flames. Leak checks may be conducted using soapy water at all connections.

Fuel

This fountain is designed either for natural gas or for propane (but not for both). Check the sticker on the gas control valve to make sure the correct fuel is used.

Portable Propane Cylinder

For ease of operation, it is recommended that the fountain be directly connected to a permanent fuel supply source, such as a large fixed LP cylinder, or a municipal gas supply line. However, if a portable propane cylinder is used, a qualified installer must provide and install compatible cylinder connection devices, regulators and cylinders that have capacity in excess of 69,000 Btu/hr. Choose a suitable size propane cylinder. Operating time of the fountain is limited by the size of the cylinder. Portable propane cylinder safety must be strictly observed.

Portable Propane Cylinder Safety

If a portable propane gas cylinder is used, it must be installed in accordance with all local codes, if any; if not, follow ANSI Z223.1 and NFPA 54(88). It should always be handled, stored, and transported with extreme caution in a secured upright position. The propane gas cylinder must be constructed and marked in accordance with the specifications for LP-gas cylinders of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Never attempt to use or repair a propane gas cylinder that has been damaged. Never attempt to use or repair a cylinder with a faulty or damaged valve outlet. A cylinder that has been dropped, dented, or otherwise damaged must be replaced. A propane gas cylinder should never be transported in the passenger area of a vehicle. Keep cylinders out of direct sunlight and never apply any other source of direct heat to them.

When refilling your cylinder, always insist on a reputable, qualified gas dealer. Your propane gas cylinder is filled by weight. The cylinder must be provided with a listed overfilling prevention device. The propane gas cylinder should never exceed eighty (80%) percent of its weight limit and any spare cylinders must not be stored under or near this appliance or a fire causing death or serious injury may occur. If the cylinder is not completely empty, the gas dealer must make necessary adjustments to ensure it is not overfilled. Never use an overfilled Propane gas cylinder.

Propane gas cylinders must be stored outdoors in a well-ventilated area. Disconnected cylinders must have a threaded valve plug tightly installed and must not be stored in any building, garage, or other enclosed area. Flammable materials must not be stored in the cylinder enclosure. Always store Propane cylinders in a secured upright position, out of the reach of children.

Gas Line Connection

A manual shutoff valve is required on the gas supply to the fountain. It should be placed upstream of the flex line (if used) and may be installed behind the access door, inside the fountain enclosure, or on the gas line serving the fountain.

If the pressure is not sufficient, make sure the piping used is large enough, the supply regulator is adequately adjusted, and the total gas load for the residence does not exceed the amount supplied.

The supply regulator (the regulator that attaches directly to the residence inlet or to the propane tank) should supply gas at the suggested input pressure listed above. Contact the local gas supplier if the regulator is at an improper pressure.

Electrical Supply Connection

• Make sure the household breaker is shut off prior to working on any electrical lines.

• Electrical supply to the fountain must be properly protected by a ground fault circuit

interrupter (GFCI). All electrical connections must conform to local codes or ANSI/NFPA 70-1987.

• The fountain electrical supply requirement is 110 Volts, 60 Hz, 3A.

Directions for electrical supply connection:

The Ring of Fire is supplied with a grounded, 3 prong power cord. It can be connected directly to a GFCI protected 110VAC outdoor receptacle. An outdoor extension power cord may be required.

Hard-wiring the Ring of Fire

1. Disconnect the electrical supply before proceeding.

2. Use a ¼” nut drive and remove the two screws holding the junction box cover.

3. Loosen the cable clamp holding the power cord.

4. Disconnect the connections of the power cord and remove the power cord.

5. Insert the power supply cable through the cable clamp. Tighten the cable clamp.

6. Connect the black hot supply wire to the brown and black wires using a crimp connector or wire nut.

7. Connect the white neutral supply wire to the two white wires using a crimp connector or wire nut.

8. Loop the bare ground wire under the screw on the side of the metal enclosure and tighten the screw.

9. Replace the junction box cover and screws.

Water Supply Connection

1. Disconnect the electrical supply before proceeding.

2. Purchase adequate length of ¼” polyethylene tubing and the required fittings to connect the fountain to a suitable cold water supply outlet. The illustration below shows a standard water tap with female hose thread connected to the fountain. The fittings provided for this application are: One female hose to ½ MPT fitting and One ½ MPT to ¼” poly tube compression fitting.

3. Remove the compression nut on the fountain float valve (this is the water inlet). Insert the poly tubing through the compression nut, ferrule, and seat (included with the Ring of Fire - see the illustration below). Insert the tubing into the water inlet and hand-tighten the compression nut. Do not over tighten the compression nut.

4. Assemble the water tap fittings and connect the free end of the poly tubing to the fittings. Connect the fittings to the water tap.

5. Turn on the water tap before operating the fountain and check for water leaks. The fountain is equipped with a low water level sensor. It will not operate without being filled with water. The float valve located inside the fountain regulates water level in the fountain.

Water Overflow Drain Line Connection (Optional)

The water overflow device prevents flooding of the fountain tank from rain accumulation. It is located in the tub and has a 5/8” hose barb that protrudes below the tub for connection to a 5/8” drain hose. If there is adequate drainage under and surrounding the fountain enclosure, this connection can be left to drain in place. Otherwise, follow the below instructions to connect a drain line.

1. Purchase adequate length of 5/8” water hose so as to locate the outlet of the drain hose away from the immediate area of the fountain in a suitable location.

2. Also purchase a 5/8” stainless steel hose clamp to secure the drain hose to the hose barb of the overflow device.

3. Connect the hose to the hose barb and secure it with the hose clamp.

4. Set the drain hose away from the fountain in a suitable location, preferably to the house sewer line or drain field.

Control Box Connections

For safety reasons, the control box should be located:

• In a dry location.

• In a place where the fountain can be viewed during operation of the control box.

• 4’ Above the ground, away from the reach of small children.

• In plain sight of the fountain, where it is easy accessible in case of emergency.

The control box operates on low voltage. However, electrical codes must be observed in its installation.

• Disconnect the electrical supply before installing the control box.

• Find a suitable location to mount the control box. Attach the mounting base using suitable

fasteners – NOTE: the control wire can be run through the back or bottom (using the optional knock-out) of the mounting base (see the illustration below).

• Uncoil the 25ft roll of 8-conductor cable. Run the end without the connector block through one of the holes on the mounting base from the inside. Leave 6” slack for the connector block to connect to the control box. Install the plastic strain relief over the cable and press it into the mounting base (this protects the cable). Connect the connector block on the cable to the blcok on the control box.

• Attach the control box to the mounting base – NOTE: the control box is difficult to remove once it is installed. Attach the control cover onto the control box.

• Strip ¼” of the insulation off the wires on the end of the cable. Attach the included spade connectors to the wires (NOTE: the light blue wire is not used). Connect the wires to the terminal block of on the fountain (see the illustration below). Note the color-coding on the conductors and the markings on the terminal block.

Finalizing the Installation 19

Fountain Setup

1 Check for Proper Operation

• Remove any packaging material or debris from inside the fountain.

• Make sure all components are securely in place.

• Remove the center perforated aluminum grate.

• Turn on the gas, electrical and water supply to the fountain.

• Rotate the blue lever arm on the left side of the gas control valve up to the vertical position.

• Check the water level in the central tank. Tank should be ¾ full.

• Start the fountain by following the Operating Instructions on next page.

2 Check the Water Spray Height

• The spray height is set in the factory at 24” high at the center spray. Set the spray height lower for less water splash.

• The water pressure to the spray head and spray ring maybe adjusted by turning their associated control valves. See Adjusting The Water Spray Height on page 23.

3 Install Glass Beads or Rocks

• Remove glass beads or rocks from packaging.

• Carefully spread the glass beads or rocks evenly on the inner and outer perforated aluminum

grates. Be careful not to drop any material into the fountain tank or block the water spray head and jets.

Before You Begin

! Read this entire manual before you use your new fountain, especially the section "Safety Precautions" on pages 4 & 5. Failure to

follow the instructions may result in property damage, bodily injury, or even death.

! Remove any cover from the fountain. Inspect for debris or objects that may have fallen into the fountain. ! Check for any damage to fountain or its supply lines. ! Check the water level in the tank. Water should almost fill the lower portion of the tank. You can do this by looking into the gap

where the flames come out. Make sure water is suitably clean and clear.

! Check for combustible objects and objects that you do not wish to get wet around the fountain. ! Clear all people or pets away from the fountain. ! It may be difficult to see the burner operating in direct sunlight. If you are running the fountain all day without the flame feature, turn

off the gas line valve to prevent unintentional, or unseen burner ignition.

A control box (see illustration to left) is used to operate all of the features of the Ring of Fire.

NOTE

: The control box has a built-in lock – we recommend locking the control box when

not in use, preventing unauthorized or unintentional use.

1. Make sure gas, electrical, and water supplies to the Ring of Fire are turned on.

2. Press the LIGHT and WATER button simultaneously for 3 seconds. The lights and fountain will turn on (if not, repeat this step). At this point the lights or fountain may be turned on or off using the buttons.

3. To turn on the flame:

(a) Make sure the fountain is on.

(b) Follow the steps below:

The flame should start. If the Ring of Fire was used recently, the flame should come on immediately. If not, it may take longer. You can hear the clicking of the ignition system during the ignition cycle. If the flame does not appear within 1 minute, press and release the LIGHT, WATER and FLAME button individually once. Wait 5 minutes and start with step 1 above. To turn the flame off, touch the FLAME button once.

: It is not unusual to intermittently smell the odor of gas and its byproducts when the

unit is burning in windy conditions. If you have the flame feature “ON” and smell gas without the presence of flames, turn off the flame feature and call your dealer or gas supplier.

4. The light, water, and flame can be operated independently by pressing and releasing the buttons on the control box. For safety reasons, the flame can only be turned on if the water is turned on. Therefore, if the flame is turned on, turning the water off will also turn the flame off.

5. Turning all features off will reset the Ring of Fire. The start-up sequence from step 2 will have to be repeated.

NOTE

: The flame will be automatically shut off if left “ON” for two hours (the light and

fountain will continue to operate). This safety (and economical) feature prevents unattended operation and needless consumption of gas. The flame may be turned back on immediately by pressing the FLAME button..

Maintaining Your Ring of Fire

! Failure to inspect and maintain may lead to malfunctioning of the appliance and potentially dangerous

situations.

Regular Service Procedure (Monthly)

1. Remove debris and foreign objects from the fountain.

2. Drain the fountain of dirty water and refill it with fresh clean water.

3. Clean the pump filter and the spray head.

Yearly Service Procedure

! We recommend a qualified technician for the following procedures.

1. Clear the area around the controls, pilot and orifice of debris and webs. Check the gas control valve and all of the gas lines. If any damage is found, discontinue use and contact your dealer for service.

2. Start fountain and flames. The flames should be orange/yellow and not dark orange. The fountain should be able to be operated for an extended period of time before the water becomes dark. If the fountain water becomes dark quickly, increase the primary air of the burner, see page 25, Adjusting Burner Primary Air.

3. Remove the glass beads or rocks and wash them in mild dish detergent. Discard any broken beads or rocks.

4. Remove the bead grates. Clean and flush them.

5. Check for water leakage from the tank. Patch holes with marine grade silicone sealant after cleaning.

6. Drain the fountain following the directions below: a) Remove the center sprayhead and stem by gently pulling it up. b) Remove the aluminum grate at the center of the fountain. c) Remove the sprayhead from the stem. Attach the supplied garden hose adaptor to the stem. Connect a

garden hose to the hose adapter. Route the garden hose to a drain or other suitable location (this hose will

drain the water from the fountain, flushing the tank). and re-insert the stem into the pump assembly. d) Turn on the pump assembly. e) When the water level reaches the safety float switch, the safety switch will shut off the pump. Over-ride the

switch by lifting the float – hold it until the pump starts to suck air – do not allow the pump to run dry, this

will damage the pump mechanism.

Lift this float up to over-ride the pump shut-off switch.

f) Remove the remainder of the water with a towel or sponge. Clean out any dirt or debris that may be in the

upper or lower tank. g) Remove the garden hose adapter (and hose) and re-assemble the sprayhead.

7. Check the burner shield for cracks, severe warpage and corrosion.

8. Clean the burner (especially the burner holes). Check for insects and insect nests in the burner tubes.

9. Inspect the following: a) Check for burner holes that are cracked, severely warped, or corroded.

b) Make sure the burner assembly is not warped or damaged. c) Check the area around the pilot to make sure there is no warping or damage. If any problem is

found, discontinue use and contact your dealer for service.

10. Wipe down the rope light.

11. Clean Filter. See Filter Cleaning below.

12. Fill with clean water after re-assembling unit.

13. Check the water level. Water should fill to ¾ or the lower section of the tank. Adjust the water float valve as needed. See page 24, Adjusting Water Float Valve.

14. Check for proper functioning of water level sensor and the overflow fittings and hose.

Filter Cleaning

1. Gently press in the sides of the filter cage on the pump and slide it away from the pump.

2. Separate the second filter cage by lifting up on the tabs on the top and bottom.

3. Remove the filters. Flush the filters with a garden hose. Flush them from the hole outward.

4. Flush and clean any dirt and debris on the filter cages and pump.

5. Flush and clean any dirt and debris in the tank.

6. Replace the filters and all items in reverse order of disassembly.

7. Refill with clean water.

Adjusting The Water Spray Height

1. Carefully remove the glass beads or rocks from the center grate and put them aside in a container.

2. Remove the spray head and stem assembly by gently pulling up until it is completely detached.

3. Remove the center perforated aluminum grate.

4. Turn the valve tab on the vertical stalk to adjust the spray head spray height.

5. Turn the valve tab on the horizontal branch to adjust the spray ring spray height.

6. Turning the valve tab in the direction of the stem or branch will increase spray height. The valve tabs

are a bit stiff and very sensitive. Using a pair of pliers make the adjustment easier.

7. Turn on the fountain to see the adjustment results. Adjust as necessary.

8. Replace the all items in reverse order of disassembly.

: For best flame operation, do not direct the fountain streams directly into the burner cavity.

NOTE

Cleaning The Spray Head

1. Remove the spray head and stem assembly by gently pulling up until it is completely detached.

2. Grab the bottom portion of the bass spray head. Unscrew the top brass cap section.

3. Flush the holes in the cap from the outside in with a garden hose. If the holes are still plugged, use a

0.05” diameter or smaller wire and poke out the debris in the holes.

4. Flush the base and stem of the spray head.

5. Reassemble and replace the spray head assembly.

Cleaning The Spray Ring

1. Carefully unscrew the clogged spray jet from the spray ring.

2. Flush or blow the debris out of the hole in the jet. If the debris is stuck, poke it out with a 0.05”

diameter or smaller wire.

3. Carefully screw the jet back onto the ring. Repeat with other jets.

Adjusting The Water Float Valve

1. Carefully remove the glass beads or rocks from the center grate and put them aside in a container.

2. Remove the spray head and stem assembly by gently pulling up until it is completely detached.

3. Remove the center perforated aluminum grate. The float valve is mounted on the side of the tank. Its

float should be visible just above the surface of the water.

4. Loosen the wing nut.

5. Rotate the float upwards to raise the water level.

6. Rotate the float downwards to lower the water level.

7. Once the desired water level is set, tighten the wing nut.

Adjusting The Burner Primary Air

The burner primary air adjustment is located at the junction of burner orifice and the portion of the burner stem that extends below the tub. Too much primary air will cause the flames to be blue and transparent. Too little primary air will cause the flames to be yellow and sooty.

: Remove all 3 screws in the primary air tube when using LP.

NOTE

To increase the amount of primary air,

1. Remove a screw sealing the primary air hole using a ¼” hex driver.

2. There are three holes. Remove additional screws to increase the amount of primary air.

To decrease the amount of primary air,

1. Seal one of the primary air hole with a #8 sheet metal screw.

2. There are three holes. Seal additional holes to reduce the amount of primary air.

Winterizing The Fountain.

These procedures only apply to area where the temperature drops below 32F (0C) and the possibility of water in the fountain freezing. It is also a good idea to follow these procedures if the fountain is not going to be used for a long period of time.

1. Shut off gas, electric and water supply to the fountain.

2. Conduct the Yearly Service Procedure on page 21, or at least, the Regular Service Procedure.

3. Leave the fountain completely empty of water. Sponge out any trace of water.

4. Drain the water fill line.

5. Optionally you may cover the fountain for winterization to keep debris from accumulating in it. Also,

you may consider using a rigid cover material or barrier to keep someone from stepping or falling into the fountain.

CONDITIONS & EXCLUSIONS

Over-firing (operation above the listed BTU rate) of this appliance can cause serious damage and will nullify this warranty.

4. The warranty, as outlined within this document, does not apply to Non-Travis accessories used in conjunction with the installation of this product. If in doubt as to the extent of this warranty, contact your authorized TRAVIS retailer before installation.

5. Travis Industries will not be responsible for inadequate performance caused by environmental conditions such as nearby trees, buildings, roof tops, wind, hills or mountains or negative pressure or other influences from mechanical systems such as furnaces, fans, clothes dryers, etc.

6. This Warranty is void if: a. The unit has been operated in atmospheres contaminated by chlorine, fluorine or other damaging chemicals. b. The unit is subject to submersion in water or prolonged periods of dampness or condensation. c. Any damage to the unit or other components due to water, or weather damage that is the result of, but not limited to, improper installation.

7. Exclusions to this 7 Year Warranty include: injury, loss of use, damage, failure to function due to accident, negligence, misuse, improper installation, alteration or adjustment of the manufacturer's settings of components, lack of proper and regular maintenance, damage incurred while the appliance is in transit, alteration, or act of God.

8. This 7 Year warranty excludes damage caused by normal wear and tear, such as paint discoloration or chipping, worn or broken pumps, worn or broken beads, burn out light bulbs, etc. Also excluded is damage to the unit caused by abuse, improper installation, modification of the unit, drilling of the orifices, or the use of fuel other than that for which the unit is configured. Units are shipped for natural gas and must be converted to propane using the included conversion kit. Confirm fuel configuration with your installer.

9. TRAVIS INDUSTRIES, INC. is free of liability for any damages caused by the appliance, as well as inconvenience expenses and materials. Incidental or consequential damages are not covered by this warranty. In some states, the exclusion of incidental or consequential damage may not apply.

10. This warranty does not cover any loss or damage incurred by the use or removal of any component or apparatus to or from the gas appliance without the express written permission of TRAVIS INDUSTRIES, INC. and bearing a TRAVIS INDUSTRIES, INC. label of approval.

11. Any statement or representation of TRAVIS products and their performance contained in TRAVIS advertising, packaging literature, or printed material is not part of this 7 year warranty.

12. This warranty is automatically voided if the appliance’s serial number has been removed or altered in any way. If the appliance is used for commercial purposes, it is excluded from this warranty.

13. No dealer, distributor, or similar person has the authority to represent or warrant TRAVIS products beyond the terms contained within this warranty. TRAVIS INDUSTRIES, INC. assumes no liability for such warranties or representations.

14. Travis Industries will not cover the cost of the removal or re-installation of enclosures, decks, paving other components.

15. If for any reason any section of this warranty is declared invalid, the balance of the warranty remains in effect and all other clauses shall remain in effect.

16. THIS 7-YEAR WARRANTY IS THE ONLY WARRANTY SUPPLIED BY TRAVIS INDUSTRIES, INC., THE MANUFACTURER OF THE APPLIANCE. ALL OTHER W ARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, ARE HEREBY EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMED AND PURCHASER’S RECOURSE IS EXPRESSLY LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES SET FORTH HEREIN.

IF WARRANTY SERVICE IS NEEDED:

1. If you discover a problem that you believe is covered by this warranty, you MUST REPORT it to your TRAVIS dealer WITHIN 30 DAYS, giving them proof of purchase, the purchase date, and the model name and serial number.

2. Travis Industries has the option of either repairing or replacing the defective component.

3. If your dealer is unable to repair your appliance’s defect, he may process a warranty claim through TRAVIS INDUSTRIES, INC., including the name of the dealership where you purchased the appliance, a copy of your receipt showing the date of the appliance’s purchase, and the serial number on your appliance. At that time, you may be asked to ship your appliance, freight charges prepaid, to TRAVIS INDUSTRIES, INC. TRAVIS INDUSTRIES, INC., at its option, will repair or replace, free of charge, your TRAVIS appliance if it is found to be defective in material or workmanship within the time frame stated within this 7-year warranty. TRAVIS INDUSTRIES, INC. will return your appliance, freight charges (years 1 to 5) prepaid by TRAVIS INDUSTRIES, INC., to your regional distributor, or dealership.

4. Check with your dealer in advance for any costs to you, when arranging a warranty call. Dealers may require you to pay a service or trip charges for any warranty work. This charge can vary from store to store.

LP Conversion Instructions

Install the conversion kit prior to installing the gas line to ensure proper gas use.

NOTE

: Remove all 3 screws in the primary air tube when using LP – see page 25.

1. Disconnect the pilot line compression fitting at the pilot. Hold the pilot bracket still with a pair of pliers and use a ½” wrench to loosen the compression nut. Carefully remove the end of the pilot line. The orifice is sitting loosely on the end of the pilot line. If not, give the pilot bracket a light tap and the orifice should drop right out. Replace the orifice with the LP orifice, the one with N16 markings. It usually has a red mark on it.

2. Remove the two nuts holding the burner orifice bracket. Drop the bracket and orifice down. Change the Natural gas orifice with the LP orifice, the one with a #37 hole. It usually has a red mark on it. Remove the 3 screws in the burner primary air tube (see page 25).

3. Remove the plastic cap on the gas type conversion screw on the gas control valve. Unscrew the conversion screw. Rotate the screw 180 degrees and screw it back into the valve. The end with LPG markings (the side with the red stripe) is screwed into the valve. Replace the plastic cap. The red strip on the conversion screw is now visible.

4. Follow the instructions in the manual to make the gas line connection.
