Important Precautions
Do not allow water, moisture or foreign objects into the power supply.
Do not cover the air intake, fan, and other vent holes. This will cause the
power supply to overheat.
Do not exceed 120V AC input.
Do not leave the power supply connected to AC when unused.
Do not open or attempt to repair the power supply at any time. Contact
Hobby Services for any and all repair needs.
Keep out of reach of children.
AC Input Power
The TrakPower DPS power supply accepts power from a 110V AC source. This is a “switching” power supply as opposed to a linear power supply which employs a high frequency switch-mode design to convert 110V AC input to a 12V DC output. This state-of-the-art technology allows the power supply to operate without a big, heavy internal transformer and results in a very small and lightweight device that can deliver a tremendous amount of power. This technology also generates highly effi cient and clean DC output. This is especially valuable today as many R/C chargers utilize peak detection designs which are very sensitive and demand the cleanest power sources possible in order to maintain error-free operation.
DC Output Power
The TrakPower DPS Power Supply has a fi xed output of 12VDC and provides a maximum 25 amps. There are a total of three 12VDC outputs located on the charger. One is located on the top and is for allowing the TrakPower VR-1 Race Charger to be docked, eliminating DC power cables. The other two outputs are located on the right side of the charger. These outputs can be used to power additional chargers and/or other DC powered devices.
Power Switch
The power switch is located on the rear panel of the power supply. This switch illuminates when it is in the on position. The switch does not illuminate when it is in the off position. It is recommended to turn the power supply off when not in use to extend its lifespan.

Cooling Fan
A built-in cooling fan keeps electronics cool to help maintain optimum effi ciency and extend the life of the power supply. Never block the intake holes of the fan, to ensure the power supply will not overheat.
Case
The case is vented to allow easy airfl ow across electronic components to assist the fan with cooling. The top of the case is fl at to allow chargers and other devices to be easily stacked on top to free up much needed bench space.
WARNING: ALWAYS have at least one inch of unobstructed area around both
sides and rear of the case for good ventilation to allow the fan to properly cool the power supply.
Connecting External Devices
Always connect the red (+) positive lead from your charger or other external device to the red (+) positive terminal on the power supply, and the black (-) negative lead from your charger or other external device to the black (-) negative terminal on the power supply.
WARNING: ALWAYS ensure polarity is correct when connecting external
devices to the power supply. Reverse polarity will not damage the power supply but it may damage the external device. NEVER attempt to connect batteries directly to the output of the power supply!

Connecting the TrakPower VR-1 Charger
Located on the top of the power supply is a set of 12V DC banana terminals. These terminals are designed for use with the TrakPower VR-1 charger. A set of dual banana plugs is included with the charger to mate the charger and power supply together. See pictures below for installation:

Safety Features
The TrakPower DPS power supply has a 25 amp solid-state current limiter for overload protection, plus short circuit protection. If either of these conditions occur, disconnect the supply from the AC input, wait approximately 15 seconds to allow the device to reset, and then re-connect to the AC input.
A built-in cooling fan keeps electronics cool to help maintain optimum effi ciency and extend the life of the power supply.
WARNING: Do not block the air vents on the power supply. Make sure there
is ample room for air to enter and leave the power supply so heat can dissipate effi ciently.
