OPERATION

1. Turn off the engine.

2. Add fluorescent dye to the system. For best results, use OEM­approved Tracerline

®

Fluoro-Lite®and Dye-Lite®dyes.

3. Run the engine and/or system for 5 to 10 minutes to circulate the
dye.Turn off the engine.

4. TP-8000A—Connect the battery clips to any 12-volt vehicle battery or
regulated 12 VDC, 8.3 amp (minimum) power source.

5. TP-8000AH from Battery Pack—Connect the battery plug to the
Tracerline TP-1509 12-volt battery pack (available as an accessory)
that includes a 120-volt charger and nylon carrying case. (The

TP-1509/F batter y pack includes a 230-volt charger.) The TP-1509
must be fully charged before using! Refer to the TP-1509
instructions for full information.

6. TP-8000AH from Vehicle Battery—Use the TP-1517 1-ft adapter
cord with 12-volt fused receptacle and battery clips (available as an
accessory) to connect to any 12-volt vehicle battery or regulated
12 VDC, 8.3 amp (minimum) power source.A 12-ft extension cord
(TP-1518) with 12-volt fused receptacle and battery plug is also
available as an accessory. NOTE: Using the extension cord will
decrease the power supplied to the lamp.

7. Do not look directly into the UV/blue light.You m

ust wear the
TP-9940 fluorescence-enhancing glasses supplied with the lamp
to protect your eyes and to make leaks clearly visible.

8. Scan the system with the lamp.Leaks will show with a bright
fluorescent glow.The leaks will show best under low light conditions.

9. After the leaks are repaired, clean off the dye residue with GLO­AWAY™ dye cleaner and reinspect with the lamp.

TO REPLACE THE FILTER LENS

Use only the TP-8011 filter lens.

1.Twist off the filter lens holder (1) and remove the retaining ring (3) to
release the filter lens.

2. Using a clean cloth, press the new filter lens (2) into the holder, black
dot facing toward the bulb.

3. Replace the retaining ring with the ribbed side in contact with the filter
lens.

4. Align the filter lens holder into the notches on the lamp and twist the
holder back into place.

TO REPLACE THE BULB

Use only the TP-8010 100W bulb. Using any other bulb may
damage the lamp and will void the warranty.

1. Remove the filter assembly.Pull the bulb (4) and suppor t ring (5)
from inside the reflector(6).

2. Using a clean cloth, press the new bulb through the bulb ring, into
the reflector and into the bi-pin socket (7) firmly but gently.

3. Reattach the filter/lens assembly.

WARNING

• RISK OF EXPLOSION.This equipment has internal arcing
or sparking parts that should not be exposed to flammable
vapors. It should be located in an area providing at least four
air changes per hour, or should be located at least 18 inches
above the floor.

• Do not secure the momentary ON/OFF switch in the ON
position.This will void the lamp’s warranty.

• Use for a maximum of 5 minutes and allow a 10-minute
cooling period before restarting.

• Always disconnect the lamp from the power source and allow
it to cool to the touch before storing or disassembling.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

1. Read all instructions.

2. Care must be taken as burns can occur from touching hot parts.

3. Do not operate the lamp with a damaged cord or if the lamp has
been damaged.

4. Do not let the cord hang over edge of table, bench or counter, or
come in contact with hot manifolds or moving fan blades.

5.To protect against risk of fire, do not operate the lamp in the vicinity of
open containers of fuel (gasoline).

6. Adequate ventilation should be provided when working on operating
combustion engines.

Do not use below garage floor or grade level.

Warranty enclosed separately with each unit.

FONCTIONNEMENT

1. Mettez le moteur à l'arrêt

2. Ajoutez du colorant fluorescent au circuit. Afin d'obtenir les meilleurs

résultats, utilisez les colorants Tracerline

®

Fluoro-Lite®et Dye-Lite

®

approuvés constructeur (OEM).

3. Faites fonctionner le moteur et/ou le circuit pendant cinq (5) à dix (10)

minutes afin de faire circuler le colorant.Mettez le moteur à l'arrêt.

4. TP-8000A—Connectez les fiches de connexion à la batterie 12 volts

du véhicule ou à une alimentation 12 volts à courant continu régulée,
8,3 A (minimum).

5. TP-8000AH à partir d'un bloc de piles—Connectez la batterie au

bloc de piles 12 volts Tracerline TP 1509 (disponible en tant
qu'accessoire) qui comprend un chargeur 120 volts et une housse
de transport en nylon. (Le bloc de piles TP-1509/F comprend un
chargeur 230 volts). Le TP-1509 doit être complètement chargé

avant utilisation ! Reportez-vous aux instructions du TP-1509
pour de plus amples informations.

6. TP-8000AH à partir de la batterie du véhicule—Utilisez le cordon

d'adaptation TP-1517 de 30 cm muni d'un porte-fusibles 12 volts et
de fiches de connexion batterie (disponibles en tant qu'accessoire)
pour une connexion à la batterie 12 volts du véhicule ou à une
alimentation 12 volts à courant continu de 8,3 A (minimum).Une
rallonge de 3,7 mètres (TP-1518) 12 volts munie d'un porte-fusibles
et d'une connexion batterie est aussi disponible en tant qu'acces­soires. REMARQUE: L'utilisation de la rallonge diminue la puissance
appliquée à la lampe.

7. Ne regardez pas directement la lumière émise par UV/blue. Vous

devez porter les lunettes TP-9940 améliorant la visibilité de la
fluorescence qui sont fournis avec la lampe afin de protéger vos
yeux et de rendre les fuites parfaitement visibles.

8. Balayez le circuit avec la lampe. Les fuites apparaîtront sous forme
d'une fluorescence brillante. Les fuites seront plus apparentes sous
un éclairage faible.

9. Après que les fuites sont réparées, nettoyez les restes de colorant
avec le nettoyant approprié GLO-AWAY™ et procédez à une nouvelle
vérification.

POUR REMPLACER LA LENTILLE DU FILTRE

Utilisez uniquement la lentille pour filtre TP-8011

1. Dévissez la monture (1) de la lentille du filtre et déposez l'anneau de
maintien (3) afin de libérer la lentille du filtre.

2. En utilisant un linge propre, appuyez sur le nouveau filtre (2) pour
l'installer dans la monture, le point noir faisant face à l'ampoule.

3. Remettez en place l’anneau de maintien, sa partie cannelée étant en
contact avec la lentille du filtre.

4. Alignez la monture de la lentille du filtre entre les fentes sur la lampe
et revissez la monture en place.

POUR REMPLACER L’AMPOULE

Utilisez seulement une ampoule TP-8010 de 100 W. L'utilisation
d'une autre ampoule peut endommager la lampe et annulera la
garantie.

1. Déposez le filtre.Tirez sur l’ampoule (4) depuis l'intérieur du
réflecteur (6).

2. En utilisant un chiffon propre, poussez la nouvelle ampoule dans la
douille à deux broches (7) fermement mais en douceur.

3. Réattachez le filtre/lentille.

IMPORTANTES INSTRUCTIONS DE SÉCURITÉ

1. Lisez toutes les instructions.

2. Prenez garde à ne pas toucher les pièces brûlantes.

3. Ne faites pas fonctionner la lampe avec un cordon endommagé ou si
cette dernière est détériorée.

4. Ne laissez pas le cordon pendre au bord de la table, de l'établi ou du
comptoir, ni entrer en contact avec des collecteurs chauds ou avec
les pales d'un ventilateur en rotation.

5. Afin d'éviter tout danger d'incendie, ne faites pas fonctionner la lampe
à proximité de récipients contenant de l'essence.

6. Le lieu de travail doit être adéquatement ventilé au cours de tous
travaux sur des moteurs à combustion en fonctionnement.

N'utilisez pas cette lampe en fosse ou au niveau du sol.

GARANTIE

La garantie de cette lampe se trouve inscrite sur le certificat de garantie
limitée inclus séparément avec chaque unité.
REMARQUE: Si vous avez besoin d'assistance, contactez le service à
la clientèle des produits Tracer.

AVERTISSEMENT

• RISQUE D’EXPLOSION. Cet équipement contient des pièces
pouvant émettre un arc électrique ou des étincelles qui ne
doivent pas entrer en contact avec des vapeurs inflamma­bles. Il doit être utilisé dans un espace dans lequel l'air est
au moins renouvelé quatre fois par heure ou doit être
surélevé de 45,7 cm au moins au-dessus du sol.

• L'interrupteur temporaire MARCHE/ARRÊT (ON/OFF) ne doit
pas être verrouillé sur la position MARCHE (ON). Ceci
annulera la garantie de la lampe.

• Utilisez la lampe pendant 5 minutes au maximum et laissez-la
refroidir pendant 10 minutes avant de la réutiliser.

• Déconnectez toujours la lampe de son alimentation et
laissez-la refroidir jusqu'à pouvoir la toucher avant de la
ranger ou de la démonter.
