COOLING COOLING FAN SYSTEM

1. COOLING FAN RELAY
(1) Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity
between terminals 1 and 2.
If there is no continuity, replace the relay.
(2) Check that there is no continuity between terminals
3 and 5.
If there is continuity, replace the relay.
(3) Apply battery voltage across terminals 1 and 2. (4) Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity
between terminals 3 and 5.
If there is no continuity, replace the relay.
2. COOLING FAN RELAY NO.2
(1) Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity
between terminals 1 and 2.
If there is no continuity, replace the relay.
(2) Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity
between terminals 3 and 4.
If there is no continuity, replace the relay.

(3) Check that there is no continuity between terminals
3 and 5.
If there is continuity, replace the relay.
(4) Apply battery voltage across terminals 1 and 2. (5) Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity
between terminals 3 and 5.
If there is no continuity, replace the relay.
3. COOLING FAN RESISTOR
(a) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.
Resistance: 1.17 – 1.43 at 20 C (68 F)
