ALWAYS REMOVE THE KEYS FROM THE IGNI TION WHEN WORKING ON THE VEHICLE. TURN OFF THE HEADLIGHTS AN D M AKE SURE THERE IS NO DRAIN ON THE BATTERY (CLOSE THE VEHICLE DOORS, GLOVEBOX, VISOR VANI TY MI RRORS AND TURN OFF MAP LIGHTS). If yo u ha ve trou ble disconnecting t he cable, u se a batter y cable pul ler or sc rew driver to lo osen th e clamp.

REMOVE THE HOLD-DOW N BRACKET – Loosen on e c lamp bolt and rem ove the other. Remove the cl amp asse mbl y or pivo t it out of the w ay.
NOTE: Be c are ful not to con tact the pos itive (+) t erm ina l w ith th e tools w hile w orkin g on the h old-d ow n bra cket, as sparks may result.

REMOVE THE OLD BATTERY – DO NOT TIP OR TILT THE BATTERY – Not e the positi on o f th e batte ry t erm ina ls. Carefully lif t ou t th e batte ry and se t it dow n on n ew spape r.

CAREFULLY PLACE THE NEW BATTERY INTO POSITION – DO NOT TIP OR TILT THE BATTERY – Be s ure to p osition the positi ve and n ega tiv e te rminals f or p roper conn ecti on to t he bat tery c able s.

IN STALL THE HOLD-DOWN BRACKET – Tigh ten the bra ck et onl y eno ugh to keep the bat ter y firmly in place. DO NOT OVER- TIGHTEN. Over -ti ght ening may d amage the ba tte ry ca se.

IN STALL THE POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CABLE – Push on the ca ble clamp u nti l it is fl ush wi th the top of the terminal . Tighten the c lamp bo lt – DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN.
