3USINGYOURAPPLIANCE
Beforerstuse:
Remove all packaging materials and any promotional labels or stickers from your Reversible Grill.
Before using your Reversible Grill for the
rst time, wipe the sides and temperature
control with a damp cloth.
Thoroughly clean both sides of the reversible plate as well as the drip tray.
The grill/griddle plate can be submerged in water or placed in the dishwasher for cleaning.
Never submerge the housing in water. Always use a damp cloth to clean.
Assembly:
1. Place base on a clean, at surface where you intend to cook.
2. Decide which way you are going to place the grill/griddle plate on to the base.
3. If the thermostat is on the left of the base, place your grill/griddle plate so that the drip holes are on the right of the base.
4. Noting where the holes on the plate are, lift the plate and place the drip tray into the
base tting it on the side corresponding
with the holes on the plate. (i.e. if the thermostat is on the left of the base, the
drip tray will be t on the right of the base).

5. The drip tray can t into
y

either the right or left on the base, with the handle of the tray facing inwards. The drip tray must be placed below the holes on the plate so that it can collect the grease.
6. Once the tray has been t, place the plate back on to the base.
7. Insert the thermostat into the grill.
8. Plug the cord into the standard electrical outlet. You are now ready to begin cooking.
Usingyourappliance
1. The grill/griddle plate has two sides, one
with a ribbed surface and one with a at
surface.
2. The ribbed surface is designed for grilling meat, seafood and vegetables.
3. The at surface is perfect for frying bacon, egg, pancakes and sandwiches.
4. Select the side you require for your cooking and place the plate on the base, with the desired cooking surface face up. Make sure the plate is placed on the base correctly.
5. Once the Reversible Grill is assembled properly and you are ready to begin cooking, turn the temperature control dial to the desired temperature setting.
6. The indicator light on the top of the thermostat will illuminate to indicate that the thermostat is operating. It may take 11-15 minutes for the grill/griddle plate to reach operating temperature, depending on the temperature level that has been set.
7. The temperature control dial on the thermostat is used to set and maintain the temperature of the cooking surface.
8. You can vary the setting of the temperature control dial at any time during cooking, and may wish to do so depending on the types of foods on the grill/griddle plate.

CAUTION: Handles will become hot during use. Always use a pot holder when touching any part of the unit when cooking.
9. The grill/griddle plate should not be
removed from the supporter or ipped
over while hot. Allow unit to cool down for at least 30 minutes before handling.
NOTE: The rst time you use your Reversible
Grill, it may have a slight odour and smoke a bit. This is normal and common to appliances with non-stick surface.
Reversiblegrill/griddleplates:
1. Turn temperature control dial to “I” setting.
2. Unplug the appliance from wall outlet.
3. Allow unit to cool down completely. (at least 30 minutes).
4. Remove the grill/griddle plate from the unit.
5. Thoroughly clean grill/griddle plate. (See Cleaning and Care).
6. Return the grill/griddle to the unit with the desired surface facing up.

Tips:
Lightly toast your hot dog or burger buns on the grill for two minutes before cooking has

Cut the rolls in half and spread melted butter on them, then place them on the grill.
Brush any oil you use directly onto the food, not the pan.
The grill pan can be lined with parchment paper
to cook sh if desired.
Make sure the griddle is hot before placing any food on it.
If you want to create the nice criss-cross eect
on your griddled food, turn the food 90 degrees halfway through cooking on each side.
When grilling sh, use a large at spatula to turn
it over.

Cookingwithyourreversiblegrill:
Meatonthereversiblegrill:
Cut meat into 1 inch cubes for kebabs.
Tender meat cuts, like sirloin, are generally more suitable for grilling than less tender meat cuts, such as rump. Less tender meat cuts can
still be grilled, but may benet from marinating
beforehand.
Take steaks out of the fridge at least 60 minutes before grilling so that they can reach room temperature.
Cookingsteak:
Rub sea salt on each side of the steak to be cooked. For medium –rare steak, cook it for a few minutes per side and then use tongs to sear the perimeter.
Brush the steaks with melted butter, and ip
them over letting them sear for another few minutes. Repeat on the other side.
Let the steaks rest for 4 – 5 minutes and sprinkle pepper on top.
See the table on the next page for suggested cooking times for cooking meat on the grill, on a medium – high heat.

NOTE: These times are approximate. Times can vary depending on the size, thickness and quantity of the recipe. Adjusting the temperature will also change the cooking times.
Seafoodonthereversiblegrill:
To cook prawns:
Toss peeled prawns with a mixture of baking soda and salt and let them rest for at least
fteen minutes.
Slide your prawns onto skewers so that they are tightly packed together, with no space between each prawn.
This helps the prawns to brown on the outside without going rubbery inside.
If you are using bamboo skewers, be sure to
soak them in water rst.
Dry the prawns before cooking them, either by blotting them with paper towels, or placing the skewers in the fridge for an hour before cooking, laying the skewers over the edge of a baking dish or bowl, so that they are fully elevated.
Brush the prawns with olive oil when you are ready to cook.
Turn the Reversible grill up to the highest heat and cook them on the grill for 6 - 8 minutes or until they are browned, turning them every few minutes.
Serve with a squeeze of lemon and salt.
See below table for suggested cooking times
for cooking sh on the grill, on a medium – high

soak them in water rst.
Wash and dry vegetables that you wish to use.

Grill vegetables until they are tender and lightly charred all over.
