IMPORTANT! WIRING SAFETY
(For UK Use Only) As the colours in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, please proceed as follows:
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
Blue [N] Neutral
Brown [L] Live
Green/Yellow [E] Earth
Plug Fitting Details (where applicable)
The wire coloured blue is the neutral and must be connected to the terminal marked [N] or coloured black. The wire coloured brown is the live wire and must be connected to the terminal marked [L] or coloured red. The wire coloured green/yellow must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter [E] or . On no account must either the brown or the blue wire be connected to the [E] terminal .
Always ensure that the cord grip is fastened correctly.
The plug must be fitted with a fuse of the same rating already fitted and conforming to BS 1362 and be ASTA approved. If in doubt consult a qualified electrician who will be pleased to do this for you.
Non-rewireable Mains Plug
If your appliance is supplied with a non-rewireable plug fitted to the mains lead and should the fuse need replacing, you must use an ASTA approved one (conforming to BS 1362 of the same rating). If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician who will be pleased to do this for you.
If you need to remove the plug - disconnect it from the mains - and then cut it off the mains lead and immediately dispose of it safely. Never attempt to reuse the plug or insert it into a socket outlet as there is a danger of an electric shock.

• Use only clean cold water, and let the water run for approx two minutes before filling.

Do not touch any part of the kettle except the handle when the appliance is in use and ensure that the lid is properly closed. This appliance is designed for heating water only. Never put any other liquid into the kettle.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST USE:
1. Remove the parts from the packaging.
2. Prior to initial use, clean your appliance by going through several boiling cycles, using clean water with each cycle and filling the kettle to its upper marking, The water will reach boiling point after approximately 5 minutes. The appliance switches off automatically
3. Your appliance is now ready for normal use.
Dispose of the packaging in a responsible manner.

USING YOUR APPLIANCE:
1. Place the cordless base on a firm and level surface.
2. Pour the desired amount of clean water into the kettle, Do not touch any part of the kettle except the handle. When the appliance is in use, and ensure that the cover is properly closed, The amount of water can be measured by the level mark on the outside of the kettle, Always pay attention to the minimum and maximum levels and ensure that the cover is properly and firmly closed.
3. Position the kettle in such a way on the sub base that the underside of the kettle fits precisely into the contact on the base.
4. Insert the plug into a wall socket.
5. Put the on/off switch to its ‘1’ position to start the heating process, The indicator lamp will light up .
6. As soon as the water reaches boiling point, the on/off switch return automatically to the “0” position, the indicator lamp will go out. The water kettle can also be switched off manually by putting the on/off switch to the “0” position.
7. The hot water may now be poured safely through the spout into another container.
8. This kettle is equipped with a safety cut –out to protect the appliance from damage in case of inappropriate use, should the appliance be accidentally operated without water or if all the water has evaporated the safety cut out will automatically switch off the heating element.
9. In such a case remove the plug from the wall socket immediately and refill the kettle only after an adequate cooling down period, about 15-20 second

10. Should the appliance switch off before reaching boiling point this is a sign that de-scaling is necessary.
11. Any regular de-scaling agent may be used, provided the relevant instructions are observed, Do not fill the kettle to the upper mark to avoid spillage if the de-scaling agent causes the water to foam.
12. To clean the kettle thoroughly of any de-calcification residues let it go through several boiling cycles using clean water with each cycle, Rinse the kettle with clean water afterwards.

power supply and has cooled down completely.
Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning solutions.
Do not immerse the base or the kettle in any liquid, to clean the
exterior, a slightly damp, lint –free cloth may be used.
It is advisable to remove lime deposits from the kettle at regular
intervals.
