DESCRIPTION

The compact, desktop VLC485 provides PTZ control, programming capabilities, camera callup, sequences and auto tours, and it will work as a stand-alone operation or a serial port for connection to a PC can be used as an interface for user application software. The unit can interact with a multiplexor to allow multiple camera monitoring with single button convenience. It can be directly connected to another unit for single-user, multi-unit remote applications. A menu driven conﬁ guration and joystick control add to its ease of operation.

ARCHITECTURAL/ENGINEERING SPECIFICATIONS

The VLC485 housing shall be constructed of high-impact plastic, and shall be 2.3” H x 9.5” W x 7.2” D to allow desktop placement. A numeric keypad and camera function keys shall be included, the keys shall be waterproof. Uncommitted keys shall be available for use with a PC port and user application software. The VLC485 shall include a 2-axis, variable speed joystick for camera control. An LCD display with backlight shall feature 2line x 20 character alphanumeric readout. Input voltage for the unit shall be 5 VDC, with a 110 VAC wall transformer power supply provided. Power consumption shall be 1 watt. One 4-pin RS485 screw down connector and two DB9 RS232 connectors shall be included. Pan/Tilt interface shall be RS485, mux interface shall be RS232, and PC interface shall be RS232. The pan/tilt operating distance shall be 4000 ft. on 24 AWG wire. The VLC485 shall be adaptable to Toshiba P, Videolarm VL422, Sensormatic 422, Pelco P, Pelco D, and Kalatel protocols.
