CONTENT

For the frequent ADU users, there is a possibility that E54JAM may occur.

This jam occurs in the following steps.

The arbor of the spring clutch in the ADU is worn when the ADU counts approx. 100K~150K. -> The angle of the holding gate became misaligned from the correct position (angle) as shown in the illustration below. -> The sheets can be not held. -> The E54JAM occurs.

As a result, the arbor has been changed to the high stiffness and wear resistance type of material.

Note 1) Check the gate position while the bypass feed unit is opened.

[Check necessity of arbor change]

When the holding gate is not in the normal position as a result of checking the following [Note

to installation], the replacement of the arbor is required.

When the value of the setting mode "08" code "372" (ADU count) exceeds 100K, the

replacement is recommended to prevent the jam.

[Note for installation]

1) Check [the ADU holding gate position adjustment] (BSI:F99K844 Note

Some errors in Service Handbook 1.15.2 "Holding gate position adjustment 1" have been corrected as shown below.

2) Check the [Operation Check of Holding Gate] (BSI: G00B944

Correction of "1.15.2 Holding gate position adjustment 1"

(3) Check driving gear installation Make sure that it is installed correctly according to the following steps. If it not installed correctly, perform the step of item (1)~(2)" again.

Note When a new arbor is installed, perform the groove for spring installation of 1.15.3 Holding gate position adjustment 2 SLEEVE-P/U-80 in "B "(center).

0) Open the bypass feed unit (Check below while it is opened).

1) Open the clutch unit. (solenoid not pulled out)

While the solenoid of the clutch unit is attracted (armature is pushed), turn the gear a limited small amount, release the armature.

2) Turn the gear in the figure in the direction "A" till the holding gate is stopped.

3) When the holding gate is stopped, check that B face and C or D face are roughly parallel. B face: flat face of holding gate C face: end face of frame
